Sinopsis

She survived the bite, but can she survive her beast?
No one thought Charlotte would make it through the harrowing transformation to become a shifter after she was attacked by werewolves in the Alaskan woods. They underestimated her.
Now, to earn a place in this hidden world, she has to prove her worth to the whole pack. So Charlotte chooses to become a tracker, despite the misgivings of her surly mentor, Levi, and the rigorous training that ends in a dangerous hunt. So what if she still needs to figure out how to control her inner wolf?
The hunt takes place deep in the wilderness, where an ancient evil lurks in a forbidden section of the forest. Charlotte will be tested as she learns to work with other members of the pack—even when they don't want her there—and to tame the beast inside her. But this is her shot at a new start . . . and it's a matter of life and death. Whatever dark secrets she uncovers, if Charlotte is going to survive, it's time...M.F

The Hunt by Z. W. Taylor was book 2 in a unique werewolf series. I just read The Bite, book one and picked this second book up right away.
The first book is a play by play of turning into a werewolf and it was engaging and captivating. I couldn’t put it down.
This book is more about werewolves and their lifestyle but it’s also so much more. I just enjoyed the writing. The author gave me a detailed observation of the pack and skillfully executed the characters. The hunt was my favorite part of this story and I’m all in. I can’t wait for the third book. I highly recommend this. Just a side note, I haven’t seen any romance yet in either book, just in case you’re wondering.

?????????? Star Read! I love that this book so easily picked up from the first book — The Bite. Charlotte finally fully transformed into a werewolf and starts her tracker training. There are parts in it that have you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails because you’re so invested in the story and the hunt they have to go through to be initiated into the pack and as a tracker.

I loved seeing Charlotte’s character development over the 2 books and how she started coming into her own. Coming from a DV situation she second guessed herself a lot and also had nightmares of her ex, but she started to get her confidence back and make decisions based on what she wanted. Usually in these type of books they make the newbie be “the best,” but I love that she still had to learn about the Pack ways and train to be any good at all. She wasn’t just automatically the best there was. Haha.

Another thing I loved is I got to see the ins and outs of how the Pack worked. I really hoping she finds her true mate in the next book because I feel that would be good for her.

I received an early copy from NetGalley for an honest review. 2 s Cathye Ann45 9

This was the perfect continuation of The Bite. Charlotte needs to learn to be a wolf and to join the pack. Will she survive her first official test?

I really d that we got more details on the lore and how the wolves fit into human society.

3.5/5?? The Hunt is book 2 in The Moon Blood Saga with The Bite being book 1. Charlotte gets to start her tracker training as she’s finally fully turned into a werewolf.

My favorite part of this book was seeing Charlotte’s character development. I loved seeing her grow as a person and become confident in who she is as a werewolf. Charlotte is definitely one of my favorite characters.

Now I have to say, I came into this thinking there would be romance. There was not. So, don’t expect romance I did when I picked up this book. That’s a reason I can’t give this book 4 stars or higher. Another reason is that it was an “okay” book. This book would be good for people getting into the paranormal werewolf genre, but as someone who’s read many werewolf books, it just didn’t live up to the other ones I’ve read.

However, I still throughly enjoyed this book and was on the edge of my seat with suspense for most of it.arc1 AdventureIN.Books232 4

This book is a treasure! It is so much more than just another werewolf book! Truly I can’t express how much I love this series and this author!

If I could jump into a book it would be this one. The characters, the world and the found family check all the boxes! The author writes so beautifully I just feel transported. I love how Levi calls Charolette “Charlie Girl” I just adore it and melt! If I got to have my grandfather longer I truly feel he would be an extension of Levi. A whiskey drinking hard ass that loves big, feels hard and is healing from the journey of life!

If you haven’t read bk 1, what are you waiting for! It’s a quick fun read with layers of found family, growth and strength! Charlie was in an abusive relationship and when she finally gets the strength to run she finds her self alone and lost in the Alaskan wilderness. Of course these remote woods would be home to big predators bears and wolves. But Charlie finds that some wolves have a human side to them. After a near death experience she has to make a choice run or start fresh as a part of this new pack. Because werewolves are real and she’s one of them!1 Shya1 review

Ms. Taylor, you have done it again and made a beautiful gem of a novel. I could not stop reading (unless it was for restroom breaks or for snacks, because I am a simple girl). Everything amazing that could be put into a book, you did and you did extremely well! The plot was PLOTTING. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Besides a few typos, this book is perfection. Though, I must say, I am hoping book 3 will let Charlie girl find her mate…(I totally get it though, if she shouldn’t, I’d just love to see Charlotte experience the love she DESERVES). It has been a pleasure reading this love letter to our girl Charlotte, and I hope you let me do it again with the next one!!1 Bean H.197 19

Book two was even more bingable and action-packed than book one. I am really enjoying this series so far! Love Charlie's journey from abused and on the run to finding out who she is and who she wants to be and learning to thrive in those parameters as a werewolf with her new found family.

I am immensely enjoying the side cast as well. I think Andrea was a great addition to the group and a much needed friend for Charlie. Overall, the addictive and bingable vibes carried over to book two nicely, making it a solid book in the series filled with mystery and thrills.

Looking forward to book 3! Tysm for the ARC!1 Luca Del carlo1 review

The Hunt was exactly what I was looking for! The story had the right amount of fantasy and a female main character that was so relatable. The pacing of the book was perfect and I am truly so invested in the world this author has built. Looking forward to seeing future books in this series! 1 Feya73

This is the second book in the series and we are learning more about Charlotte and her new place within the pack.

This story is about healing and overcoming the past, your trauma and accepting who you are. You do have plenty of action, the story itself is well paced and beautifully written. I greatly enjoyed the interactions between the characters, I found myself cheering them along. You have the found family aspect with Elliot, Derek, Levi, and Charlotte. I loved being able to watch not only the story develop but the characters.

When Charlotte decided to try to become a tracker, I loved the support she was given. There was no trying to protect her, instead it was teaching her to always “go for the bone”. The hardest part for Charlotte was coming to terms with how violent the pack and their ways can be. She had to be willing to accept the monster inside and find a balance to work with her own wolf.1 Katie Beth90 1 follower

Giving this a solid 4 ?? for the same reasons I gave The Bite a 4.

It was difficult for this book to keep my attention, but that’s probably because I read the unpublished version of the MoonBlood Saga on Wattpad a few years ago. Those versions were 3 very long books, and I do remember the first one being kind of slow because it was very focused on world building and character introductions. It seems , in these published versions, the author is spreading some of those things out between different books. I will say, “The Hunt” was a fresh new story from the originals, although it did contain some of the same outcomes. So it is slightly refreshing if you’ve read the original versions of the saga.

Overall, this was a pretty solid follow up to the Bite. If you appreciate when a fantasy series takes it time to build the world at a pace that’s a little more digestible for readers, you might appreciate this. I would still say this book series is very slow-burn, not just in the romantic subplot but also in the overarching plot of the series. But the Hunt does give you a solid foundation for the world the series is set in.

I would recommend this to readers who enjoy slower-paced series (or at the very least don’t mind a slower start as long as the pay off is epic, which having read the original unpublished versions of the saga on Wattpad, I feel confident in saying it will be). I would also reccomend this to readers who are fans of some of the popular fantasy series out there that are mostly about fae, but are open to reading something slightly different as this series is about werewolves. I think this saga has all the political intrigue (and will have the swoon-worthy love interests) these popular series are known for.

I look forward to the next book in the saga.

*thank you to the author, Z. W. Taylor, the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader of this book. Dom218 2

Special thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Okay I will admit to having been an original reader of this series back in its wattpad days and am so happy to see this author getting the chance to publish the story. That said, wow has this story ever changed! I was a little wary after the first book which felt a much more drawn out version of the original story, but I would also say that this book made up for that tenfold. I feel this is the book where the series really starts to break ground as the mystery of the forest, the rogues, and this ominous voice starts to really take shape. I found myself really captivated by the story wondering what would come next, and puzzling over some of the mysteries.

Former readers should go in knowing this is a very different version of the original story, but I would say it is actually an improved one. I was wary at first, but the changes to the characters, dialogue, and just general world building details have made this a stronger story that still has the same heart as energy as the first one!

The one thing that I will say keeps me from giving this book a full five stars is that while it was really building towards one, I feel the climax of the book never fully landed. So much ground work was building up to the hunt and I was expecting something more vital to take place that would swing the series’ greater plot into further focus but that didn’t really happen. The book was definitely still a very interesting read, but I just felt it needed a bit more of a punch at the end there. That said, it’s still quite deserving of a 4.5 stars!

That said, now that I’m done I am in a reading slump because all I want is the third book. Truly I am desperate. And to anyone reading this who knows the old version, it’s all because I am waiting (*desperately*) for Ethan. Hayley418 16

I was so excited to find out that there was another book in this series and much to my surprise not only was I gifted the first book but I was also lucky enough to be given the second book as well. There are so many werewolf books out there and there are so many different ways that authors can portray them that sometimes it makes it super confusing however this series was great. ZW Taylor puts their own unique spin on the wearwolf genre and it was very fascinating to read about. While the first book was all about our main character Charlotte turning into a wearwolf this book is more about the pack and Charlotte fitting into her new life. I found this book to be a little bit more interesting because it was all about the wearwolves which is where my interests lie. While Charlotte is now officially a wearwolf she is assigned her first real task. In order to get her position as a part of the pack she must capture a deer. However it isn't as simple as it sounds for she must do so in "Trappers forest" a place, the name suggests, is littered with old traps and ghosts determined to see her fail. What I loved about this book was even though Charlotte is now a wearwolf she is still getting used to itnso you got to see her first hand experiences as she was dealing with her first hunt. I loved how the author almost made out main character Charlotte and her inner wolf side two different entities. It was very interesting to watch her struggle to live side by side with her inner beast and not stifle it or let it control her. I think that might have been my favorite part about this whole series. This was a great read not just for lovers of this author but for all fantasy lovers a. I'm so glad not only that this became a series but also the fact that I was lucky enough to read this book early. Go and check it out I guarantee it won't disappoint.gifted-by-author-and-or-publisher Tasha68

This is a story about a family.

One of the more beautiful stories of found family and acceptance. Story of finding your place in the world and being surrounded by comfort, understanding, support, and love. Charlot's journey is ongoing and her discovery road of finding herself, or better yet, accepting her new self, is paved with challenges every step of the way. We see her as a growing person and as someone who, to every problem doesn't stop till she finds an answer. Her self-esteem is rising and she is no longer a scared young woman but a strong individual ready to take the world.
This is the part that I really enjoyed and that had the vibe of the previous book where we see her transformation from a human to a werewolf and the depth of the process of going through it.

The found family is what I loved about the story but I did have a bit of a letdown regarding the world-building and the plot itself. We were introduced to the rogues, which were the reason for Charlotte`s situation, but there was just a brief mention of them and I was expecting to see the encounter with them but nothing happened . It seems as if the balance of the plot was a bit off. The story was heavily set on the found family moment. In some parts of the story, it felt really heavy. In the first book, we had few main characters and it was easy to focus on the development of the transformation which was so interesting. Keeping with the development vibe and bringing a lot of new characters felt rushed as it was important to get all the new characters in and preparing them for the next book. It felt a bit overwhelming because we got to jump from one character to another.

Overall I did enjoy the book and will be reading the next one since the story had just begun. Fedythereader721 21

Thank you so much to the author and the publisher, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, for sharing an ARC of this book with me on NetGalley!!!

"You make them regret it," he said darkly. "The only thing that is going to defeat the monster is another bigger, badder monster. You be ruthless, Charlie girl. You never regret putting some asshole where he belongs when it's necessary. It's what's going to keep you alive against both predators out there in the wild and other wolves."

What does it mean to be a warewolf? What does it mean to be part of a pack? These questions and more are going on in Charlotte’s mind after the event of book one in this paranormal werewolf series. While having to deal with Levi’s sparkling personality, in this second book in the moon blood saga, Charlotte will have to survive, learn her role and get more lessons from Levi (the man I love honestly) and while talks of bloodmate and true mates arises, and a new relationship shows itself unexpectedly, our little Charlie girl has to learn to live trusting others, something a bit hard to do after everything she has been through in her past. But Levi is there to help her and I loved how this book dealt with pain and suffering and grief and friends and family and pack. This paranormal book was action packed and with some twists and turns out right in the middle of the story. I loved how much we see Charlotte grow up and learn to live not only survive and I have to admit my heart is hoping for something between her and her saviour … but I’m not gonna go in depth into that !!! Looking forward to the next one !!! net-galley Susan Carolynn98 359

The Hunt picked up right after The Bite ended, and we see Charlotte adjust to her new life as a werewolf. She is conflicted about her purpose, both personally and among the pack, but she decides to enter tracker training. Meanwhile, Levi is investigating further threats from the rogues, while balancing inter-pack politics.

I thought The Hunt had better pacing than The Bite. It felt the author really ramped up the mystery and thriller elements. Especially with the Hunt scenes, I was on the edge of my seat. Where the author really shines is writing physical location descriptions. The haunted forest was described so eerily, and it almost felt I was in there with them.

I do think that the plot wasn't as fleshed out as it could've been. There was a lot going on, and it was hard to keep track of some of the characters. I wish this book leaned even more into the action elements. I expected there to be more scenes with the rogues and more high stakes situations. I didn't feel super invested in the characters or the character relationships. I felt Liam's connection with Charlotte was a bit forced. The way Liam was written makes it seem he's much younger than her, so I felt they didn't fit together well romantically. Andrea, however, was a great addition to the story! I felt Charlotte needed a female friend, and Andrea fits the role perfectly.

I thought I loved The Bite, but nothing compared to the love I now have for The Hunt! I am so used to reading shifter romances and FMC/MMC find their mates and bam book is over. I absolutely love books that I am a huge romantic and yes I wanted this FMC to hurry and find her true mate, but Z.W. Taylor said “Naw girl enjoy the ride!” She turned this shifter novel into something without the FMC needing to find true love, but to heal and find out who she is first and that made this book absolutely amazing. We find Charolette to be this broken character in The Bite after all the trauma she endured, but the author made The Hunt made it where Charolette now is ready to overcome and heal, she’s ready to make decisions by herself and show others what she’s really made of and that’s what made this story one of a kind!

Hands down my favorite of the two books, so far but I can already tell after receiving a sneak peek of the third book that I’m going to have a hard time picking a favorite after it comes out! I am so ready to read the third book, it can’t come fast enough!

The Hunt by Z. W. Taylor is book 2 of The Moon Blood Saga. I have not read Book 1, “The Bite” and was able to follow along just fine. There are plenty of references to what has happened in the past for this to be a standalone if you choose.

In this title Charlotte “Charlie” is a newly made werewolf and former human struggling to find her place in the world. Will she fit in with a pack? Does she even want to? Is there any humanity left worth saving? Will she survive the trials necessary to even find out?

I slogged through this one. I generally enjoy shifter fantasy, but this one lacked something undefinable for me. I didn’t care much for the characters beyond face value of the who/what/why of the storyline. Perhaps this is where book 1 is truly important to the story building and development of characters with the reader but I couldn’t connect.

There were many typos that I found distracting as well but this is an ARC so I presume those get corrected before final publication. I give it a 3 because the pace is quick and well organized and thought out plot, it just lacked connection for me. If you loved The Bite then definitely give The Hunt a try.

I'm a huge fan of The Bite and the Moon Blood Saga, and I was really excited to read book two, The Hunt. Overall, I did enjoy the book but I wanted more out of it — I was hoping to read more about Charlotte's transformation over the full moons, but it started off with her already a pup. I would've loved for it to pick up right where The Bite had left off.

THE SYNOPSIS: Charlotte has survived transforming into a wolf and is now a pup—ready to pick her job to officially join the pack. Charlotte and her newfound friend, Liam, both choose to become trackers and begin training for the role. As their final test, called the hunt, they must delve into the unknown territory of the Trappers Forest with their assigned teams—but there are traps littered in the forest and Charlotte hears voices calling her name. Will she survive the hunt? Why is everyone so scared of the forest? And, better yet, are rogue wolves still following her?

Overall, I enjoyed the follow up to The Bite. ZW Taylor has an amazing attention to detail that she puts into each chapter, which makes reading the books so interesting! I am excited to read the third installment of the Moon Blood Saga! lori pennington551 4

Many thanks to NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, W by Wattpad Books, for the free e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am new to this series and did not read book #1. However, I really enjoyed this werewolf tale and will be going back to read about Charlotte's transition into being a moon-blooded wolf!

In this book #2, Charlotte is safe with a pack, learning how to be a wolf, going through pack initiation, and finding the job in the pack that is suited to her. She is staying with Levi, the head of the pack who is dealing with his own demons right now, so they find themselves as good company. She meets the entire pack and her fellow trackers as she goes through tracker initiation. We learn more about the rogues who bit her and are still very much present.

I really enjoyed this book and was excited that there seemed to be a cliffhanger (hopefully?) at the end. Its hard to find a good wolf or vampire series similar to the Wildcats by Rachel Vincent, the Wolves of Mercy Falls, or Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, and this book definitely hit the mark for me!

Highly recommend!give-aways MaguiWorld783 48

Just in book one, The Bite, I was happily surprised to see I enjoyed another book with little to no romance. There is a slight attraction in this book, but we also learn about True Mates so it made sense that the attraction fizzled out. When I first started this, I hoped there would be a romance because I thought Charlotte had grown a lot from her Trauma in book one, but I quickly realized she still had a lot to overcome. In book one, she becomes a werewolf, but in book two she needs to find her purpose, home, and security within the pack. I'm anxiously awaiting book 3 as I think we may get a True Mates situation eventually. I also really enjoyed that book two picks up right where book one ended and after reading the chapter 1 teaser from book three, I know that picks up pretty quickly after book two. It makes for a seamless read.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with book two. I learned a lot about this new life Charlie faces and watched her character learn and grow into her new identity. Will definitely be reading book three!2024-anticipated-releases march-tbr netgalley ...more Diane Knecht32 3

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review The Hunt by Z.W. Taylor. All opinions are my own.

The Hunt is book two in the Moon Blood Saga series. I had the good fortune to have already read book one, The Bite, a few months ago and enjoyed it. The Hunt picks up right where we left off and was an easy transition. I do believe it would be fairly easy to pick this one up without reading The Bite and still enjoy the read.

Book 2 finds Charlotte training, shifting more easily into a wolf, taking on challenges and tests with the pack and simply finding her place in this world while also making friends. If I could only pick two words to describe this book's plot, I would say learning and adapting. I would have loved to see a romantic interest hit the scene (maybe in book 3) which kept this from being a 4 start for me. I do love the characters especially Charlotte and Levi as well as the other paranormal characters such as the vampires. If you love Werewolf culture and legend this one is definitely for you. Th Hunt is already available to purchase. Happy reading. Cassidy Joslin41 1 follower

Wow!!!

Once again incredibly pleased with this series. As an OG The Bite reader, I have been hesitant and anxious about the publication of this series and what changes would be made. While it took me a second to adjust to some plot changes, I thoroughly enjoyed The Hunt.

Book two follows Charlottes journey through training to become a tracker and the Hunt she has to partake in, in order to complete her training. I loved the development of Char’s past trauma and the way Levi and her have come together of sorts to help one another heal and process. The found family trope in this book is so beautifully done. We STAN Levi.

Z.W.‘s world building throughout the Bite and the Hunt has been so vivid. I felt incredibly captivated and drawn into the scenes. I am so excited for the continuation of this series. And I AM dying to finally get Ethan + Evans introductions
