Man, can this author write a love letter. *swoon*

This was a bit of a fast burn, and while parts of it were sweet, an overwhelming amount of it doesn't sit right with me.

These guys see the FMC for the first time, and knowing nothing about her, her medical history, or her family genes, decide she's way too skinny, and they need to spend the next few hours (and basically the entire book) either discussing it or trying to get her to eat. Never mind that the story is set up so that she's so skinny because she's too busy being a single mom (excuse me, I didn't get that benefit of single parenthood, I'd a refund). The fact that they were right doesn't negate the fact that they were way out of line for that. Who sees someone and just acts that without knowing if it's called for or not?

After she refuses the plate of food they bring her, one of them decides to try to push the issue by leaning over and sliding his hand up the inside of her shorts. This was literally only done for the plot because how else would three strangers who have known her for a total of 10 minutes at this point discover the injuries she's trying to hide? So now they can fuss over her, wondering why she's in pain. Finding an injury doesn't excuse out of pocket behavior. He doesn't even know if she's interested in him yet, and he's sliding his hands up her shorts? Smh

Fast forward because they were all kind of okay for a bit and them getting to know each other for a week was cute.

????SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT????

The timeline and progression of her pregnancy and their relationship make no sense. Suddenly out of nowhere, they've known each other for three months when just a few chapters ago she was talking about how they've only known each other for a few weeks. And just before that, her friend was angry with the guys for getting her pregnant and lowkey ditching her after knowing her for a whole two weeks. And when she finds out she's pregnant, she thinks about how it was four weeks ago that they slept together, then she's kidnapped that same week, and when she gets back home that night, she takes her daughter out of school for a week for safety, noting that Thanksgiving is coming up the week after that. At Thanksgiving, they talk about her first doctor appointment that is in a few days. That's a total of 6 weeks she'll be into her pregnancy (and her symptoms started weeks before that). At her doctor appointment, they keep talking about her "little bump" she has (she's way too early to even have a bump), BUT they also say the sonogram is just a little blob. So which is it? Is the baby a little blob, or is it developed enough to give her a bump, at which point it wouldn't be a blob anymore? She also talks as if she's much further along in the pregnancy. Make it make sense! How long has it actually been? Is she six weeks along (most doctors will have you come back at 10 weeks for the first full appointment), or is she further? Have they known each other for three months or not? This is confusing asf.

Side characters come and go, only appearing when needed for the story. They're completely gone for the last half of the book, except for a mention or two offhandedly. The daughter is also conveniently gone when needed, and happily goes off to do whatever is suggested when the story needs her out of the way.

And istg these guys are the worst body guards I've ever seen, how are they the best? How did they earn that reputation? Because I'm not seeing it at all. The more I think about it, the lower I'm making my rating, because it was none of this was stuff was researched or even much thought put into it to make the story come together. Previous timelines weren't referenced when writing the next parts of the story, and it was just frustrating to read.adoption-caretaker-trope age-gap fast-burn ...more1 Erica195 4

I really enjoyed this book. I’m a sucker for a traumatized FMC and the guys who help her heal. Adelyn is strong and sassy, but she’s hiding so much pain. She became mother to a 2 year old when she was just 18, and lost both parents in one act of senseless violence. Rory is a great character, so bright and happy and loving. Addie has done a fantastic job raising her. The guys are all great, I can’t choose a favorite. Zach is very alpha and dominant, and has no problem bossing his Doll to make sure she takes care of herself. Wyatt is slightly less alpha, prefers to stay in the background but is always taking care of Addie, even when she doesn’t realize it. Julian is the bright, goofy, cheerful one, until he hurts Addie unintentionally. Then his sweet and caring nature takes over. And Tate, sweet, broken Tate with his ptsd and many triggers from everything that happened with Rylee. I just want to hug him. These guys made a mess of things, but they own it and they grovel and they refuse to leave Adelyn and Rory, no matter how hard it is. They work for Addie’s forgiveness and redeem themselves, and they are all so in love and happy in the end. It’s a beautiful story of healing and redemption. 1 Kimberlea Richardson456 8

A Dream Come True ?

I was so excited when I 1st saw that this book was going to be about Tate’s HEA. I loved him in his sister Rylee’s book, and I really feel you need to read that story before this one to truly appreciate Tate’s struggles in this book. From the very first page I was drawn into this story, and it didn’t let up until I was able to read all the way to the very last page. This story exceeded ALL my expectations and blew them out of the water. This story was so emotional in so many ways, especially since a lot of what Adelyn goes through could’ve been prevented by the guys. They definitely make up for all of their mistakes though, and I feel it made their relationship stronger & made the ending that much sweeter. There was just the right amount of friendship, family, humor, chemistry, passion, spice, & romance, and it was all balanced beautifully with drama, pain, trauma, hurt, suspense, danger & action. On top of all that, love between a strong, yet slightly broken, young woman and 4 men who needed her in ways they never imagined. Also, can I just say that Gabby is one of my favorite secondary characters EVER! She is one of the most amazingly wonderful friends, and she is #BFFgoals
