So, this was obvious.

A poor attempt at world building marred by an incredibly forced over powered character. This has the usual bad guys, suitably pompous and racist, with no deviation from the standard Jade formula. found it very entertaining, but there was some time skipping

I the story very much and the characters were engaging, but r so and didn’t sit wellthe were some time-skipping that had me confused or left a poor impression. From 8 years old to 10 to 15 to 16, at each pause there were updates, but most were a single paragraph and didn’t sit well with me. A very fun beginning!

I have enjoyed this authors works since I first found them years ago!!! This storyline has great potential as their other works but this one needs some polishing!!! The flow of the story is disconnected and erratic, as well as the character dialogue is confusing at times. World building and character development needs to be expanded!!! Fun book, meh ending

I pretty much inhaled this book one evening. It was a fun, if quick, read. The only problem is that the epilogue is just kind of there.

All in all, it's well worth the read.
