This is an unusual trilogy. Follow Cole Springer on his many adventures and misadventures in three separate books.

Book 1: Springer's Gambit

Max Shapiro owes money to some mob guys, headed by Nicky Tortino. With a diagnosis of cancer, he decides to not pay Nicky and heads off to Aspen, CO. with Suzi, his girlfriend.

There, they find Cole Springer, a Special Forces Desert Storm veteran and a former Secret Service agent who now plays piano in a bar. Max asks Springer to be his body guard to protect him from future visitors from Tortino's mob who will soon be looking for him.

Max agrees and then, Springer's adventures begin.

Book 2: Springer's Longshot

Jesse Robinson is found dead from a beating in Las Vegas. Robinson's father contacts Springer, Robinson's earlier best friend, to go to Las Vegas to identify the body. The problem? Springer was supposed to never, ever return to Vegas.

So find out why Springer was not supposed to be in Las Vegas and read about Springer's continuing escapades.

Book 3: Springer's Fortune

This book has a very interesting start: Cinnamon Butler, a down-home southern gal, is a contract assassin. But she gets two calls for the same target. The target? Nicky Tortino.

Anyway, once Butler finds Nicky in his hotel room, he says he's been expecting someone, just not a gal. Regardless he says, look, there's $80,000 in a nearby satchel. I'll give it to you for killing three people; then you can do me. His targets? The two people who put the hit on him - plus Cole Springer

Wow, author Ripley is keeping things really interesting across these three novels! You should read them.

Cole Springer trilogy

I enjoyed each story full of suspense and action. There is a realistic approach to the story line that is hard to match. I will look forward to more of W. L. Ripley’s work!2 s Steve355 24

The Cole Springer Trilogy by W.L. Ripley is a terrific and compulsive read. At first blush, a title containing 900 plus pages might be daunting even to the professional reader. However, after the first two pages, all readers will ache for more Cole Springer adventures. Cole is a retired Secret service agent but not of his choosing. As we learn, Cole has a mind of his own and shares his thoughts without hesitation, even to the Chief Of Staff to the President, which got him dismissed. Cole has taken up residence in Aspen, Colorado where he owns and manages his bar. He has a penchant for trouble and the reader is richly rewarded following Cole's every move as he sweet talks his way into and out of trouble with low-lives, Vegas gangsters, and organized crime chieftains. Throughout the entire trilogy, we get to eavesdrop on his plotting and outrageous machinations, whether intended to complete a big score or dish out revenge to a well-deserving crook. The dialog is crisp and exhilarating and brings to the forefront the incomparable Robert Parker and his enduring cast of characters. W.L. Ripley knows how to keep the story flowing. Pick up all of the author's titles and enjoy a special treat.1 Deb Parsons16

I thoroughly enjoyed the stories in this series. Cole Springer is a great hero and I most enjoyed the sarcastic, witty dialogue! My entire family has a sarcastic sense of humor, and I am often misunderstood as being mean or critical. I can't help it if you don't get it..If you enjoy action and funny dialogue, read these and Ripley's "Storme" series!!1 Lori Fredona2

Really good books. Kept my interest in wanting to know what Cole was up to next! His sarcastic humor was great fun. My only "complaint" was the numerous typo's and grammatical errors. I am a speed reader and it stops me in my tracks when I come up to one of those.1 Jim A1,267 72

Read the first of the trilogy. Springer is an interesting character. A former secret service agent, now a club owner in Aspen where he plays the piano. Down on his money he takes a job as body guard for a man on the run from a mobster.

Fun read if one doesn't take the plot too seriously. It's really pretty predictable at the end.

Probably won't bother with the other two in the trilogy. High Plains Drifter12

Worst editing of a novel yet

During my labored reading of this who-done-it trilogy I still do not know who the "Guy" is, that shows up at the beginning of many sentences?? Evidently the writers (must 2 or 3 with English as theirs 3rd language) were taught not to use relative pronouns in their sentences (what, there, that, etc. All three had similar plots. Probably will pass on future volumes. Fred Thornton15 1 follower

Great fun

Cole Springer is a compelling con artist who pits his wiles against the bad guys. Always on the side of the law but at the very edge he airways manages to come out clean. This is a very entertaining read that is exciting enough that you'll have trouble putting the book down! Gordon Dempsey82 1 follower

A Real Smart ??

Cole was a real bright guy, even though some times it would almost bite him. He figured schemes and they usually worked even when he had to make changes which drove his friends wild. Carson Walls71 1 follower

Enjoyable read

Really Cole, but I always someone who is kind of smartass. He is quick thinker and doesn't rattle easily. I can picture To I and her too. Would have given this 5 stars but third story got a little long. thomas w griffiths2 2

Aspen Fun

Fun read. I live in Aspen and Ripley's comments about the geography and characterizations of the locals were accurate
.I pictured Daniel Craig as Springer and Jimmy Gandolfini as any one of the other"goombas".

X3 books

I don't really care much about Cole. I Storms character a lot more. Way too many cliches in all 3 books. Both the males and females. Just so much redundancy . JAC JACQMIN21

Kept my attention thru till the last page!

I read a lot of action books. This one had a continuous rollout of interestingly plots and sub plots. This is my second book from W.L. Ripley and looking forward to the next. Bruce Wrobel75
