Winona McClintic was born 1921, in Germany, of American parents and grew up in southern California. She was educated at Mills College (Oakland) and UC Berkeley. She wrote a series of science fiction/fantasy stories and poems between 1949 and 1961. She passed away in 1977.
Robert Silverberg described her first story published in 1949 as "baffling but fascinating".
