This One Is A Wonderful, Touching, Story
Overall, that is. While there is plenty of action, military and otherwise, the base story is how Marc ends up with a "pet" timberwolf named Dog. During a really intense scene of survival mode for Marc, a wolf is in his own pursuit of escape. Trying circumstances can bring about strange outcomes. Dog is such an outcome. It is plain to the casual observer that these outcomes can sometimes produce unacceptable results. Marc and Dog have bonded, even under unly conditions, or are they merely tolerating each other? This series had me enraptured from the very beginning--This is more of a prequel than #15 in the series, but I find that I can't put one down until I finish each volume I start!! The most recent have been "back-stories" on Marc and Dog and Mars and Angie; but I find I've spent more than my budget allows. Also, I'll probably be re-reading the volumes more than this time. Great back story!
Well written with humor and understanding. I loved the relationship between Marc and Dog. I enjoyed the start of that relationship but was surprised that Kenn was there at the beginning when no indication of him knowing Dog is mentioned in the other books.
