Overview: Marjorie Weismantel's vocation as a high school teacher has given her a unique perspective into the life and times of the modern teenager. In this capacity she has developed a high regard for real-life teens, watching them struggle with the pressures of growing up, yearning for the freedom and excitement that always seems to be just beyond their reach. Her decision to write "A Girl Between" was to enable the natural desire of young people to escape from their lives for periods of time, as she herself frequently did as a young person.
