This novel’s historical setting of the far east during the Russian Revolution, well researched and described in illuminating detail, provides a unique background for a high paced thriller. Sergeant Dooley is a young adventurer with skills as an infantryman, pilot, and espionage agent, who falls in love with a fugitive Russian countess. They become involved in a three-way struggle between the White Russians, the Bolsheviks, and the crew of a US Navy destroyer. The climactic battle at the end is reminiscent of Jules Verne and James Bond.

Sergeant Dooley is accompanied by a wide cast of characters, with fascinating personalities and backgrounds. My favorite was Chief Petty Officer Fowler, a good example of why the military needs career NCOs, not just officer and privates.

I would highly recommend the book to anyone interested in historical thrillers, especially with a maritime theme.

A friend told me about this novel, so I thought I'd give it a try. By chapter one I was intrigued. By Chapter 3 I was excited with the plot. By the end of the book, I was ready to recommend this adventure to other friends who a well written story with great characters and a good plot.
I think Mr. Abrahamson did a wonderful job detailing the events in this book while keeping the reader entertained. I look forward to possibly more adventures with Sergeant Dooley but in the meantime, I will be heading to Amazon to pick up, what I understand is the authors first novel, Black Silver.1 Gina Sakalarios-Rogers2

I enjoyed Black Silver, the first in what I hope becomes a continued series of Tom Dooley Adventures, but I really felt drawn to this second book. It's a fun adventure with characters that are lively and well-crafted. The author's ability to immerse me in the environments and the action is what really made this book work for me. His comfort with these characters and all they know and do has me convinced that Wayne Abrahamson has been on some adventures himself. I love a good adventure novel and this one does not disappoint. Bring on Book 3!1 Daniel Haddock1 review

Sergeant Dooley and Submarine Raiders is a creative historical fiction packed with action, interesting characters, and a story that develops well over the three acts. The author does a great job of transporting the reader to the islands of the pacific where Sgt Dooley finds himself as the protagonist in a global struggle. Readers that are fans of mystery, suspense, investigation, and action will not be able to put this book down. I look forward to the future adventures that Sergeant Dooley will encounter in more books.1 Ron Baumer567 14

An intriguing read full of suspense and action. The story kept you guessing who the bad guys were and who were the good ones. All in all a good read!

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.1 Savannah Weinrich1 review1 follower

An amazing new novella from Wayne Abrahamson. The first few chapters drew me in slowly with the in depth descriptions of our main characters and the vessels they service. However by the 5th chapter I was thoroughly enthralled in the tale, from submarine antics, to plane crashes, to a mysterious Russian baroness, the enigmatic story surround8!( Isla De La Meurte will be sure to draw you in. Abrahason is a perfect blend of modern day Cussler meets Verne in his historic yet action packed sophomore work. 1 1 comment MARLA A2

Wow! Great read! Wayne Abrahamson's books just keep getting better and better! Sergeant Dooley and the Submarine Raiders did not disappoint! Wayne is meticulous in his detail of the scenes, the era and the geographical area. He takes you right there along side Sergeant Dooley fighting the Reds! I have to admit that Sergeant Dooley's character reminded me of David Baldacci Aloysius Archer character in his Archer series. If you reading books with twist and turns, treasure and pirates, a bit of romance and a hero then this is the book for you! I so look forward to more books by this author!1 David2

The book is an exciting and well written adventure. The author's use of terminology and description of events demonstrates his vast knowledge of subjects he's writing about. All of this mixed with the excellent writing style creates a story that pulls you in, making it feel as though the events are actually happened. 1 Samantha Krisko2
