Zara is no stranger to hard knocks in life. She is fiercely protective of the people she loves to the extent of an alter ego engaging in a bit of mischievous vigilante justice. No one is putting her in a box with a label or breaking her baby's heart. Plus she has a soft spot for strays which ends up pulling her into a bigger vigilante social justice fight than she ever imagined! Urban fantasy/portal fantasy, but the magic is downplayed almost to a magical realism type level at the beginning and and a lot of the book is figuring out what is going on along with Zara and co and the "dog" the rescued. The adventure builds as the magic is revealed and there are some serious unanticipated effects

Twomey's writing is the kind that pulls me in and keeps me reading into the wee hours of the morning. I just love the nuanced and complex respect based relationships she builds between her characters. The adventure and magical twist keep it fast paced and exciting. Angry Girl shares many themes with Twomey's other works in including found family, love of many shapes and sizes, and deep soul connection, both romantic and non-romantic. It also features brave souls fighting an unjust autocratic government. If you d her other series, such as Sinfully Sacrificed this is similar.

Book 1 in a 6 book series, the book mostly sets up the major arc and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger - it is a good break for a series, not middle of a scene, but there is a character in peril and I need book 2 yesterday to find out what happened next! Lindsay Heymer7

I'm honestly just amazed..and I really shouldn't be because I truly love this author but I found myself addicted to this book. At first I wasn't sure how the direction was going to go with it being very pro LGBT but it all flows and makes sense! Angry girl is right! I didn't know how well I could possibly relate to her but i found as a mother myself rooting for her and her little petunia! My anxiety hit with hers and my emotions were feeling everything along side her. It definitely gives a brand new perspective on a whole new world we are living in while keeping her amazing worlds and magic intact! I'll be constantly checking for the next book!.

This book was very interesting, it shows that there is prejudice and discrimination in the world and even in an alternate universe. Zara is raising her sister’s child who is transgender, she gets upset when people discriminate against her daughter. After Seven is made to feel bad because her friend is not allowed to play with her they meet a dog who has been hurt. Connery is from another universe and needs help. They come to his rescue and this causes a real big problem for them. This was a good start to this series.

Angry Girl’s characters, Zara Johnathan, Seven, Connery, and Bodhi have given us such an immersive experience that it was a culture shock when I got to the end of the book. I was there right along with them through it all. I wanted to egg Julie’s car and TP her house, while giving everyone hugs! This amazingly original storyline is the best that I have read so far this year. I will definitely be nominating it for my book club. Can’t wait for the next book to come out in July.

Angry Girl was a great start to The Crimshade Chronicles, a new fantasy series by one of my favorite authors! I really enjoyed this character-driven start to the series as we are introduced to the MFC Zara. With elements of mystery, action, adventure and romance, this first book has set an interesting tone for the rest of the series. There are also characters that include LGBTQ+ representation. I look forward to finding out what will happen next for these characters in the series and seeing more of the magical elements in book 2! DarkTwistedReads108 28

I really enjoyed this book, it was quite eye opening but unsurprising how people and most of the world regard the people in the LGBTQ+ community. 
It's quite depressing to know that we as a people could treat a seven year old transgender girl so cruelly, or even just the average gay man who wishes to dress in drag.
I loved the plot in this story and the characters.
There was a bit of repetition in a few things and some errors but overall was a good story.

This book was not to my taste so you may be surprised that I gave it 5-stars. I would never mark a book down because the story wasn't to my taste. I am a huge fan of this author and her writing style never lets the reader down and the characters that she crafts are superb and this book is no exception.

Mystery, suspense, family, love and more. You will love the story of Zara. It does include some LGBTQ, but thats ok it bring in all aspects of life. Zara has always dealt with a hard life, but what will happen now. Its going to take all shes got to go through this part of her life.

I really enjoyed getting to know all the characters who creat a strong found family. It’s an inclusive book that emphasizes being who you are and accepting others for who they are.
