The main character of this Paranormal Cozy series is Mitzy Moon. Mitzy is psychic and is learning to use several elements of alchemy. The spirit of her deceased grandmother, "Ghost-ma", also plays a large role in the series. This book takes place around Halloween and a haunted house, ghost stories, and a seance are all important to the plot.

The book starts out with the set-up of a haunted house for charity and a book signing for a well-known cookbook author. When the demanding author is murdered, Mitzy gets involved in the case, whether or not her handsome sheriff boyfrend wants her help. I love the "spooky" atmosphere of this story and how Mitzy uses both her intelligence and her special abilities during her investigation. I was surprised by the dramatic ending which left me feeling a variety of emotions. I'm definitely excited to see what happens next in upcoming books.

This book works well as a standalone, but if you enjoy it, you will want to go back and read prior books to get to know the main characters even better. I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from the author, but my review is voluntary and unbiased. 7 s Kim1,062 14

Mitzy is planning a haunted house fundraiser for the local animal shelter. Coinciding with the with the haunted house there is a book signing for a famous chef at Mitzy’s book store. When the chef is found dead Mitzy ends up in the middle of the investigation.

This is now one of my favorites in this series. What can be better that Mitzy and Halloween. I love Mitzy, Pyewacket, Ghost-ma, and the rest of the Pin Cherry Harbor crew. The mystery is well plotted with plenty of twists and turns. The secondary story is full of just as many surprises as the mystery. There were a couple moments that stopped my heart (I can’t say what I don’t want to spoil it.)

I listened to the audio version. The narrator is get at bringing Mitzy to life. She has a great voice and captures just the right amount of snark that we know and love from Mitzy.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been influenced by anyone.audio-book cozy-mystery-20234 s Micky Cox2,134 27

Once again Mitzy Moon and pals deliver a hilarious paranormal mystery that will keep you giggling and intrigued! The layered plots of life activities and the mystery make the story very well rounded and entertaining. The narration is so vibrant that you feel you are along for the ride rather than just listening to the story. This series is a cross between Gilmore Girls and the Good Witch which makes it so very entertaining with the movie/tv references as well as the paranormal aspects. This one has a Halloween theme so the opportunities for the paranormal to wind throughout the story are boundless! I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series! This is definitely a favorite must listen books, characters and series overall!3 s Anthony Goodner13 1 follower

.more fun adventures with mitzy moon planning a great halloween fundraiser is going smoothly until the author of a baking cookbook is a no show at the bookstore signing. so many things happen must read to find out the facts2 s Chad Barrus925 20

This is without a doubt the best book in this series because of the love one feels for these characters, living and dead! Trixie makes them come to life and they quickly become your friends not just some random characters in a book! You’ll need some kleenex’s handy so be prepared!

Mitzy is in charge of the Halloween Haunted House and as she is conducting a special tour before the house is open to the public the next day what should she discover? Well you guessed it- a dead body!! This person was not a nice person at all and most everyone who knew her would want her dead! So who did it! Mitzy is on the case with help from Ghost Grams, Pyewacket and her psychic intuition! Erick tries to instill in her to not go investigating alone but we know Mitzy’s nature lets that advice go in one ear and out the other! Perhaps she’ll listen after this time but we’ll have to read the next book to find out!

I wholeheartedly recommend you read this book and then you get the entire series for I can’t think of a better way to spend some hours enjoying books you’re gong to love! Trixie has brought these characters to life and you’ll laugh, cry and smile at what happens in these books! Her books are that breath of fresh air we all need so desperately in these times of doom gloom and bias news that makes us distrust everyone in politics!

In these books we are carried away to a place where the people are so life we feel we’ve known them our entire lives! Each book is that addictive in a good way! We WANT to know what’s going on this time and can’t wait for the next book to come out so we can get our “fix”!

I urge you to join with us, her devoted fans, and read this book! You’ll find an author you’ll love as well as the characters she has created! It’s a win win for everyone! You’ll love the stories and tell your friends
and that will make Trixie happy as well!

Get on the Trixie bandwagon and start reading this series today. You’ll be glad you did I guarantee it!!1 Robin137

Mitzy and Erick are getting closer every day, but that still doesn't mean he doesn't think oof her as some sort of 'corpse magnet'. When the body of a celebrity chef shows up in the supposedly fake graveyard, Mitzy goes off investigating, even after the Sheriff gently reminds her not to go off alone. Mitzy's character is so layered, it makes for a quick read and love for the series. reviewed1 Julie HowardAuthor 2 books19

I enjoyed this book. Once again the author has surprised us with a twist that will effect the rest of the books in the series and its one you would never see coming but no spoilers here, it will be interesting to see the effect. There wasn't a great deal of suspects and you could guess at the motive, so I wasn't surprised with who the killer turned out to be. I must admit I was slightly disappointed with the ending, as I was expecting a twist that never came but it's still a lot of fun. The main reason I keep returning to Pin Cherry Harbour is the wonderful characters who continue to delight, entertain and surprise. A lot of the usual cast of characters are missing in this adventure such as Twiggy, Mitzy's, Dad and her brother but when you have Ghost-ma, Pyewacket and Silas around you don't really need anyone else. Oh and of course things are heating up with Sheriff to hot to handle. Looking forward to the next book.
Halloween is a great time to raise money for the local animal shelter, especially with Mitzy Moon in charge. The haunted house looks really good and guest would even go so far as to say the corpses look really. The problem is one of them is real, a celebrity chef is found in one of the caskets after missing her book signing. Not many people in town know her but Mitzy is afraid the one person who does might have a good enough reason to kill her. Can Mitzy clear her friends name and find the real killer? And take advantage of the lowering of the vail between both worlds caused be Halloween, so she can contact her dead mother? Is either safe or is Sheriff Haper right and Mitzy should sit this one out?
I the narrator. the characters she continues to entertain her listeners.

Halloween in Pin Cherry Harbor this year is sure to be amazing. Mitzy Moon has arranged for a very impressive haunted house event in order to raise funds for the local animal shelter & pet cemetery. And just before the soft opening of the haunted house, a famous cookbook author is scheduled to debut her newest book at Mitzy's bookshop.

But things rarely go as planned, and in this case that means the author winding up dead with her body hidden in one of the haunted house exhibits. Unsurprisingly, it's Mitzy who first notices the very real corpse on display, and thus winding up involved in trying to solve another murder.

As with the other books in this series that I've had the pleasure to read, I really enjoyed this one. The various twists and turns in the story kept me guessing throughout and I can honestly say that there's a spot in this book where I was tearing up more than just a little. (I'd tell you about it, but that would be a huge spoiler. But trust me, you’ll know it when you read it.)

So if you've enjoyed any of the other books in this series, be sure to grab a copy of this one. I don't think you'll be disappointed. And while you'd also ly enjoy it even if you haven't read any of the previous books in the series, I can honestly say that I think you'll enjoy it even more if you read at least a few of the earlier books first. This is the 20th book in the fantastic Mitzy Moon Mystery series and it's Halloween - One of Mitzy's favorite holidays. This book has Mitzy Moon, her Caracal, Pyewacket who loves everything food but always has Mitzy's back, and of course her mortal boyfriend, Chief Erick preparing to have the greatest fundraiser for the Pet Vet Clinic and the cemetery. With Ghost-Ma tethered to the bookstore, and her ability to get into Mitzy's thoughts, we have many laugh out loud moments. And add to that the bookstore is the host to a book signing by a famous, arrogant Chef and author, Chiffon Cheryl which Mitzy's helper at the bookstore, Tiffany setting it all up. Add to that a murder and it seems Mitzy's dead mother is trying to connect with her as well as stolen recipes, an assistant who is treated very badly by the Chiffon Cheryl and there is a strange connection to the town which is why Cheryl picked it for the book signing. And with her mentor, Silas, Mitzy wants to set up a seance to try and contact her mother who she misses dearly even though it could be dangerous for Mitzy and even Ghost-Ma. With all these threads woven into a wonderful flowing story, you just can't put this book down! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.my-books Amanda Jane1,295 8

Scary scones

"Chiffon" Cheryl the celebrity baker's publicist and PA, Janet, has arranged her new book launch in Pin Cherry Harbour with Twiggy. Mitzy mentions the anticipated arrival to her friend, Anne, at the bakery expecting a positive reply only to hear the exact opposite.

Far from being a perfect baker turns out that Chiffon Cheryl spent her time at the Culinary Institute of America stealing other students bakes along with their recipes and she even acquired her nickname from her first slight of hand swapping of a chiffon cake. In fact Anne's own personal Pin Cherry Scone recipe is in the new book.

With the signing coinciding with Halloween Mitzy has arranged for a haunted house experience to raise money for the local animal shelter and has tagged the book signing guests onto the soft opening.. she keen to have everything perfect for the grand opening although being as it Mitzy the chance of everything going to plan are remote..

When she starts to experience flashbacks to her mother she's all up for a seance as the veil thins on All Hallows Eve itself but will juggling multiple plans is never a good idea for someone as clumsy as Mitzy and when we get to the end there will be a sense of sadness and happiness that is bittersweet.. Another great read

Everything is spooky in this Halloween edition at Pin Cherry. When a best-selling author comes to town not all is at it seems. The book-signing doesn't go to plan and there's a good reason for that which will come to light at the haunted house attraction.
This time around, I found the story to be a bit of a slow-burner until we reach the 50% mark and then everything all happens at once. I love the one-liners aimed at Deputy Paulsen - who is a stand out character for me. The murder is a bit of a side-line as so much more is going on with Mitzy, Erick, and family matters.
I do love the character of Silas and his whole demeanour. Pyewacket is a star in this installment. Not a massive plot line, but it has a couple of clever twists, there never were too many suspects as of course, we always have a murder case to solve!
Anyone who has read the series knows there is so much more than just a whodunnit to work out, it is all about the characters too, who we have come to know as familiar friends. Some touching moments throughout. You'll have to read it to find out what happens! Darla Taylor1,628

Halloween's coming and Mitzy is thrilled. She's set up a haunted house that'll raise money for the local animal shelter. But while checking things out, she finds the body of a celebrity chef who was in town for a book signing. Afraid a friend may be a suspect, Mitzy begins investigating with some help from Ghost-ma and a certain feline.

I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems, and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this series and this book's no exception. The entire series is excellent, and Trixie keeps each book fresh. This was a quick, fun read that was well-written and drew me in from the beginning. I loved returning to Pin Cherry Harbor and all the characters especially Mitzy and Erick as their relationship evolves. This was a captivating story with a mystery that will keep you on your toes. I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series. While each book has its own mystery and could be read on its own, I suggest reading the series in order to get the most out of things.action animal-shelter animals ...more Angela Griffin1,336 3

Trixie Silvertale has managed to offer yet another fine read!

I enjoy Mitzy's interactions with her loved ones (teasing Ghost-ma is especially fun to witness); even relationship hiccups are welcome, if only to highlight Mitzy's deeply buried vulnerable side. There is plenty of mischief and mayhem, humor and heartache, and sacrifice and secrecy. This story also serves as a reminder of just how pivotal Silas is to this entire series in his self-effacing way. And the murder mystery!! Red herrings, switchbacks, and even a bit of pathos... Talk about serving a cold dish! I admit I had an inkling as to the identity of the killer because of a nickname used, but wow! The author has set up a surprisingly long game for this murder mystery. I also admit that I am disappointed by the apprehension of the killer; it feels an easy out. However, this series still maintains its well-earned status at the top of this reader's must-read list, and I cannot recommend this author too highly!! Javon50310 5

On a full moon the veil between our world and the spirit world are thinned and a perfect time for a séance where Mitzi can see and speak to her mother for the first time since she passed away. Silas warns Mitzi that his could be dangerous, but she insists that she has been feeling her mother’s presence recently and sees this as a sign that her mother is reaching out to her. While waiting for a full moon, Mitzi’s plan for an elaborate haunted house to raise funds for a local animal shelter may be derailed when the body of a celebrity is found on the grounds of the mansion where the haunted house event is being held. Hopefully this new murder will not interfere with the upcoming séance. I adore this series and hope that Silvertale has many more stories to share about the town of Pin Cherry Harbor with Mitzi, Sheriff Erick Harper, Ghost-ma and Pyewacket. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book. James Crawford5,670 31

After the last book in the series I was having doubts about continuing with it but fortunately this one is back to the usual quality of the writing. There's going to be a haunted house to raise money for the animal shelter. There's also going to be a woman who writes cookbooks appearing at the bookstore.

Of course things go wrong as the truth about the woman becomes known to Mitzy and there's a murder (as always). Further, there may be a major problem with the Sheriff as Erick seems to watch Mitzy to stop her investigations and other dangerous things if they get married. (Which indicates he doesn't really understand her at all.)

Mitzy has a very interesting vision and something happens to Pwywacket during Mitzy's effort to talk to her mother.

Then there's a bit of a question about whether or not Mitzy will live long enough to do anything else with her life.

Good plotting, good character development. Dawn1,563 20

It’s hard to believe that this is the 20th book in the series. I’ve enjoyed every story along the way, and I hope there are many more to come.

It’s uncanny how murder always seems to follow Mitzy. At least her boyfriend, Erick the sheriff, knows that she’s just a magnet for murders and not a murderer. This time it’s a celebrity chef who is found in Mitzy’s Halloween display of all things!

Mitzy and Erick’s relationship continues to grow. He has even accepted that she has supernatural gifts. And when she wants to have a seance to talk to her dead mother, he’s willing to be there! Mitzy’s mentor, Silas, warns her that a seance could be dangerous, but she’s all in. Will they all survive the seance?

This is an excellent series for anyone who enjoys fun, quick reads with great characters. I’m looking forward to the next one! Darla679 11

Ms. Silvertale has done it again with the twentieth book in the series but they just keep getting better. I often find myself wishing for more Ghostma but there's more book for Erick, the "Too Hot to Handle" sheriff of Pin Cherry Harbor, so its all good.

Mitzy is hosting a Halloween house to raise money for two of her favorite charities. When the body of a small-time celebrity is found in the fake coffin, Mitzy and Ghostma break out their murder board once again.

There are a few steamy scenes between Mitzy and Erick, one of them occurs while they are in wedding attire (read the book because that's all I'm saying on that subject), a seance where things go wacky for Pyewacket, and a kidnapping. I hope that's intriguing enough so you read the book. This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.Show full review Christine Rice31 1 follower

Mitzy is overseeing a fundraiser for the local animal shelter doing a Haunted House. And it sounds awesome! But the soft opening is disrupted by a (not much loved) celebrity found dead in the graveyard of said Haunted House. So Mitzy has to work fast finding the culprit (of course with the assistance of Ghost Ma and Pyewacket). Silas is working on another (close to my heart) project – a Séance on the One Night the Vail between our and the Afterworld becomes it’s thinnest. Mitzie wants to see her mom and for mom to meet Erick *sigh* But despite Silas’ best efforts, something goes awry. Phew, so many exciting things happening in this book, hard not to give anything away!
Wonderful story with characters that have become so dear to me. Can’t wait for the next one!

I loved, loved this book. This is by far the best of the books. The characters are so will defined and I love the growth of the characters.

The book is set around Halloween and it is fun to see how involved Mitzy is with the Halloween preparations and getting to pull one over on her grandma. Mitzy is also going down memory lane. Her gifts are getting strong and she just knows that her mother is trying to reach out to her but what exactly does her mother want and how is Mitzy going to do to get her mother to appear? You need to read this book to find out how her mother reaches her and what Mitzy does to pull one over on Ghostma.

Mitzy just wanted to do a haunted mansion for a fund raiser. She had good memories of her mother telling her spooky stories on Halloween. It started out great and then when a cookbook author comes to town, everything goes downhill from there. When Mitzy is taking a group through the mansion on a soft opening, they all get a big surprise. Once again Mitzy finds a dead body. She also wants to do a seance to get in touch with her mother. It all adds to the craziness in Mitzy's life. When Pye sacrifices his life during the seance, Mitzy has had enough. Can she and Erick find the killer, keep Mitzy safe during the seance and have a semi-normal life? We will see. Wulfwyn 1,145 104

A lot is going on in this book. If you are familiar with The Mitzy Moon series, it is definitely one you don't want to miss. If you are new to the series, I would suggest you start at the beginning. It will help you understand things better. The books are fun to read and you will catch up quickly.
In this book, Mitzy has a Haunted House she is hosting for charity, an author is coming into town to do a book launch at the bookshop, she is possibly getting signals her mom wants to communicate and then there is Pyewacket. It is an exciting book for sure! You will be turning pages and might need to stay up late. This is perfect fall reading, especially if you love Halloween.   Roxx Tarantini554 4

Mitzy 20 has arrived!

And with it come eerie goings on. Mitzy is sponsoring a Haunted House to fundraise for the local animal shelter, and the mayhem that ensues is typical of our intrepid investigator. Her celebrity chef turns up dead. The trusted manager and her son are under suspicion. AND, if all the stars align, Mitsy MAY get a chance to speak to her mother!

Silvertale pulls out all the stops with this one, and it's an adventure you won't want to miss. I can hardly wait for what happens next!

Wow, that was a twist I never saw coming but no spoilers. The twentieth Mitzy Moon story opens with Mitzy and gang organising a haunted house for Halloween. The discovery the celebrity chef and author for the event in a coffin starts a glorious adventure. Loved every moment and was hooked as always from the first line. Mitzy is at her sarcastic best but also continues to develop her psychic powers and as a person. The romance with sheriff Harper seems to be coming to a critical stage this all makes for a wonderfully quirky mystery. Coleen Marlo is absolutely the perfect narrator for these books. 5 stars is too low a rating. Miss W Book Reviews1,458 119

Scones and Tombstones is Book 20 in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries by Trixie Silvertale.
I listened to an audiobook of this story and absolutely LOVED it!

It's Halloween! Oh, how I love Halloween stories. Mitzy is running the Halloween Haunted House and turning a tour she finds a dead body. The body is someone that is very unable and there is no shortage of suspects. But even unable people deserve justice.

Mitzy, Ghostma , and Pyewacket are investigating much to Erik's disagreement, but Mitzy can't help herself.

This was a fun book with lots of interesting characters. I love the mystery and always love returning to this fantastic series. This is a unique fantastic series. Audrey884 7

It’s Halloween in Pin Cherry Harbor and Mitzy couldn’t be happier. She’s setting up a haunted house for charity based on stories her mother use to tell her! A celebrity cook book author is hosting an event at her book store. She’s not happy once she meets the horrible woman! Mitzy is missing her mom as memories start to flood her of her mom.
A lot happens in this book. Some has me laughing and crying! As much as I love ghostma she made me really angry on Mitzy’s behalf! Erich really stepped up in this one. I really enjoyed this one! I highly recommend this book and series! Kathy Brenzi592 5

This is another great book in this series. Mitzy is hosting a celebrity chef - Chiffon Cheryl - for a book reading at her book store. This is to be followed by a tour of her Halloween event Haunted House at a local historical mansion. When the chef goes missing and turns up dead, Mitzy's favourite patisserie owner Anne, falls under suspicion, as they were rivals at baking school. Meantime, Mitzy is going to hold a seance to contact her mother, with the help of her favourite alchemist. She sure has her hands full. Theresa Conner51 1 follower

Halloween just got a little spookier!! Mitzy Moon's sponsoring a haunted house to benefit the local animal shelter. Everything is ready, until a real body shows up in the fake graveyard. Can Mitzy and her handsome sheriff solve this one in time?

Halloween in Pin Cherry Harbor is full of spooky fun...and murder! Mitzy finds the body of a famous chef in the local haunted house and many hijinks occur as she works with Erick, Ghostma, Silas, and Pyewacket to solve the case.
