I had a very hard time deciding what to rate this book… somewhere between 3.5 – 4 stars.

It is labeled as a grumpy/sunshine rom com and I will agree it sticks to that for the most part.

Liam is a strait-laced, no-nonsense drug enforcement cop who lost a friend right after high school due to an overdose. He thinks all drugs are evil and doubles down on that multiple times in the book. So much so that it is a little hard to believe by the end, he is in love with who he considers a drug dealer. He’s honestly kind of a jackass the entire book. But he’s hot and it’s mentioned WAY too often in the book. Literally his and his partners nicknames are Hot and Hotter.

Loreli is a happy, savvy business owner, she’s a baker, owns a food truck and has a grow permit. She sells (now legal in her state), edible goodies laced with THC. She’s very organized with all her permits which I appreciate the author mentioning multiple times. Only goes to adult parties, checks IDs and is doing rather well in life.

Liam sees her food truck by chance one day and falls instantly in lust with Loreli, as she does him, but hates “drugs” so much he keeps insulting her, calling her awful names, and tries to get her business shut down by giving her petty tickets and fines. You can obviously see inside their heads per the author and what they’re thinking (basically that they’re both sooooo hot) but on the outside, Liam is hard to . He treats Loralei awfully. He even arrests her at some point but stops to meet his mom with her handcuffed and they run errands together…. While she’s handcuffed. It’s definitely not police procedure by any means. Liam IS really cute with Loreli’s dog the entire story.

Basically they have these law breaking run ins where he’s trying to wreck her business, they date once or twice, then have incredibly graphic over the top sex which did not match the rest of the books flow especially with the weird awkward “dirty cop talk”, she accidentally doses him before they attend court together (from HIS tickets he’s giving her), then they don’t talk for a week or two while he’s working on a huge mEth drug bust. She takes his mom some pot brownies because she’s going through cancer treatment, Liam finds out and explodes on her in an incredibly cruel way. Liam goes on his drug bust, gets shot/stabbed/choked almost to death (it’s a very violent scene FYI), then realizes he loves Loreli and wants to marry her. They work it out and 6 months later they’re engaged despite him still hating what she does.

Again, it sounds I did not enjoy the book. I did. There’s funny times, laughable times, happy times, sexy times and it's pretty cute. It’s just not really believable to me. Liam doesn’t seem he’d ever be okay with Loreli being a “dirty drug dealer” and they’re romance and falling in love was so fast, it kind of left me wondering how and when they fell in love. From their handful of rude interactions? From their one date and night of sex? Because he almost died? There could have been a lot less talk about MJ and more development between the characters for sure.

d it enough to read it all the way through and wondered about the next couple.

This was an enemies to lovers grumpy/sunshine romantic comedy.

This is a new author to me and I look forward to reading many more books by her. I loved the story and characters. Highly recommend!

Lorelei Rogers owns a food truck that specializes in edibles called Lorelei's Blissful Baked Goods. Missouri recently legalized marijuana and she is taking advantage of the opportunity.

Liam Lane is on the county drug task force. He hates anything to do with drugs. His mother is going through her second bout with cancer and chemotherapy. He and his partner Chase Barnett are known as Hot and Hotter.

They meet at an event where her truck is parked and he fines her for a ridiculous infraction. He later looks up her event schedule and decides to harass her out of business. At another event he takes her away in handcuffs to bring her to the station. They stop at his mother's house and he then brings her to her home to care for her dog before going to the station. He is greatly conflicted by how he can be so attracted to a drug pusher. They end up hooking up. She later does something that enrages him. He is injured at work and she goes to see him in the hospital but he can't speak. They later reconcile and get their HEA.

This romance is fun, light and sweet. Liam and lorelei are complete opposites.
While one is an officer on drug task force, the other is a MJ baking food truck owner.
They couldn't be more opposite, yet from their very first interaction (or rather confrontation) they're immediately drawn to each other.

I love the fact that Liam and Lorelei are fighting, and that things aren't all rosy and sunny. It brings a real sense of reality to the story, and makes it easy to identify with the characters.
I have to admit that more than once I wanted to punch Liam, he really pissed me off!

But in the end, he and Lorelei do what every couple does: make concessions. And really, I'm repeating myself, but it makes the story so realistic!

This book is really well written, the dialogues are perfect, we laugh, we get angry... You really live with the characters. And even the secondary characters are perfect, bringing just the right amount of humor and support to the story.arc read-in-en Marichus Real2,677 15

Official Liam Lane is a cop who hates drugs with a passion, and therefore drug dealers, since his best friend died from an overdose at her first college party.
Kailee has a bakery business, and, in her goods, she uses marihuana. She s everything legal, and she has all her permits updated.
It is a fight between them since the beginning, he fights her using pot and she fights for her rights, but, at the same time, they fight against what they feel for each other.
It was a hilarious story, but it also was very emotional for all the themes within its pages.
Just an amazing story that I highly recommend.

Love this!

So here’s the thing, what do you do when you run a legitimate food truck which happens to sell now legalised marijuana baked goods to the local public but an annoying but hit cop keeps writing you up for small infractions. The fact that he keeps showing up unexpectedly everywhere is one thing but the attraction is undeniable. Only problem is he is on the drug task force and one thing he can’t stand is drugs for any kind in his town.

Lorelei and Liam’s love story is a fun, surprising and steamy ride that takes you on their journey of hate/love from first sight.

Hope there is a book 2 soon with Chase and Kailee’s story.

A delightful romance read! Our main characters are Lorelei Rogers and Liam Lane. Complete opposites, these characters are sure to delight. Lorelei owns and operates a food truck, while Liam is an officer on a drug task force. He is completely conflicted by his attraction to her and makes it his mission to run her out of business. A sweet and funny romance. I loved the laughs that these characters provided on the way to a HEA! This is the first book I've read by Ross but hopeful there will be many more to come!

What a cute book! My husband is an officer and was on the drug task force, so I knew I wanted to read this as soon as I read the description!

I’m not into MJ or edibles of any sort, but I d that it was used tastefully in the book. Despite Liam hating drug use, I loved that he accepted Lorelei and fell for who she was as a person.

I also appreciated that Tori included real life scenes of fighting that actually occur in relationships. It was nice to read something that is so easily imaginable. Realism is my favorite when it comes to romance, plus, the comedy was top tier
