Sinopsis

If you thought Sherlock Holmes was dead—think again . . .
Sherlock Holmes’s fatal plunge over the Reichenbach Falls during his struggle with his archenemy, Moriarty, has been widely reported. But Holmes escaped and is still alive. In his immediate circle, only Holmes’s brother, the lethargic genius Mycroft, knows of his survival. Even Dr. Watson thinks the great detective is gone. But among his enemies, Sebastian Moran, Moriarty’s chief henchman, knows of Holmes’s probable escape and waits for their inevitable meeting.
From 1891 to 1894, Holmes wanders through Asia alone, armed only with his physical strength and endurance and his revered cold logic and rationality .
For Holmes’s fans throughout the world, these stories fill an enigmatic gap, the cause of so much speculation in the great detective’s career.
“Mischievous, cunning and magnetically fascinating, Sherlock Holmes’ lost meanderings in the Far East are richly rewarding for Holmes fans, armchair travellers and historians alike. Ted Riccardi conjures up the quirky, beloved detective’s missing years solving intoxicatingly labyrinthine puzzles amidst the devilry of The Great Game.” —Isabella Tree, award-winning author and conservationist..M.F

This was a very enjoyable collection of short stories featuring several of Sherlock's cases while in India, Nepal and Ceylon. I found myself totally transported back in time. I found it easier to read while dropping in an out to read a story at a time rather than reading all together a regular book.

My thanks to Bloodhound Books for a copy of this and this is my honest review.2 s Kairen Harries24 1 follower

Thia book is a wonderful read. The short story format follows the style of Arthur Conan-Doyle's original Sherlock Holmes works. It makes it a very compelling and yet easy to put down. Great for commuting.
The writing is excellent and the stories fast-paced with great twists and characters.
I would thoroughly recommend this book whether you have read the originals or not. I confess, I have long been a Sherlock fan.
I can't wait to read the sequel(s).1 Alison Bryant92 7

This was a slow read compared to my usual books. The way that the world was viewed over 100 years ago and how differing cultures, religions and nationalities interacted was interesting and made me think. Sherlock Holmes is a book I haven’t read and one I feel I may need to now I have enjoyed these cases. 1 Marija539 43

Immersing myself in the anthology of Sherlock's adventures across India, Nepal, and Ceylon was a delightful experience. The collection's structure allowed me to journey back in time at my leisure, savoring each story individually rather than consuming it in one sitting. This approach made the book both engaging and conveniently digestible. The narrative is crafted with excellence, delivering a brisk pace, intriguing twists, and memorable characters. I wholeheartedly endorse this book to both newcomers and seasoned Sherlock enthusiasts a. Anticipation is high for the forthcoming sequels. A note of gratitude to Bloodhound Books for providing a copy of this gem.5 s Sian Powell57 1 follower
