I’m very grateful to have been able to read “Bali Escape” by Tanya Johansen. After reading the blurb snippet for it, I dove straight into Amelia’s life-changing trip to Bali, one that truly changed her life, gave her spiritual growth, beautiful friendships and so much more.

One thing that really drew me to “Bali Escape” was Tanya’s vivid imagery and intricate details to everything: the landscape, the food, the conversations, detailing everything through Amelia’s eyes. I really loved that it was easy to imagine being in Bali with the bright colors and culture surrounding you. Besides that, she does an incredible job with working through the character’s thoughts and emotions. Nothing felt rushed, each page she ensures that the characters has time to work through all that is going on and I loved that.

The storyline was really good. I enjoyed how it wasn’t just a typical Bali vacation. Amelia delved into the culture, the food and made beautiful friendships with incredible people. Then you add the suspense aspect of Zoe’s brother with the cult and it was a well layered story. The action was a 4/5, But the supporting characters were a 5/5 for me. I loved the friendships between Liam, Zoe and Amelia from beginning to end. There was a bit of romance and sparks, but it was a 2/5 (the book focused more on Amelia’s growth and why she was in Bali working through her past *trauma* with an ex. I loved Liam and all that he done for the girls during their time in such a special place.

Overall, this was the best book to get me out of a killer book slump. For my first Tanya book, she really took me by surprise. I cannot wait to read Zoe’s story next in “Danish Dreams”. indie-arcs1 1 comment Tina Adams6 1 follower
