This is my 17th book by Suzanna Medeiros. I read one book back in 2014 and then picked her up again in 2020. She only had 1 book come out in 2021 but was glad to see in 2022 she started pushing out more books. I really enjoy her books and storytelling.

I have loved this series over the years. I really enjoyed Iris and Harry's story. Such a cute couple. Super cute read. I wish it would have been longer because they were so cute together.

Overall a good read.3 s Jill booksandescape637 51

A Rogue for Christmas by Suzanna Medeiros is the third book in the Christmas Scandals series. The rakish Earl of Wentworth saved Iris Rowland from ruin one night, and he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her since. He decides to secure an invitation to a Christmas house party that she will be in attendance. He hopes that seeing her again will help him move on, but he soon realizes that might be falling in love.

I immediately loved the characters in this novella. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. It was a super fun read!3 s Margaret Davis234 1 follower

Iris Rowland meets the Earl of Wentworth when she is waiting on another man in the gardens at a ball. When Henry, the Earl of Wentworth finds out who she is there to meet he informs her that the man just informed his fellows at their club that he was newly betrothed to someone else. Iris thanks Henry for the information and leaves with her reputation and her virtue intact. They later meet at a house party thrown by relatives of Iris’s. All in attendance are shocked to see Henry there because as a notorious rake, he is not known to attend these gatherings. Iris’s brother in law and cousin in law approach Henry to find out his reasons for attending the party and are shocked when he reveals his prior meeting with Iris and his inability to forget her. Henry thinks if he spends time with Iris in this environment he will quickly get her out of his mind. Of course, a house party during the holidays has been known to change people’s minds. A short, sweet and sexy novel just in time for the holiday season.

A quick and lovely story about a chance encounter leading to a rogue’s reform. The Earl of Wentworth, a reknown rake, stumbled across Iris alone in the garden at a ball at the end of the season. She so intrigued him that he found the company of other women lacking. Suspecting that she would be at her cousin’s Christmas house party, he finagled an invitation, sure that all he needed was a quick conversation with Iris to prove she was no different than any other young woman, and that would get her out of his system so that he could get on with his life. Wrong! This is a sweet and steamy tale wherein Wentworth discovers, with the help of his friends, that he is actually in love with Iris. She, on the other hand, sees him for the rake he has been and believes she is just another fling. Panic makes him take drastic measures. Wentworth’s bewilderment is endearing, as is the awe that Iris feels at his attentions. The responses of her sister, cousin and their spouses add reality and levity to the tale. It’s just a wonderful and fun read.

I haven't read the first two books in this series, but I would definitely have appreciated this novella more if I had. The couples that were matched in the previous books function as the supporting characters in this one. Wentworth, a known rake, managed to finagle an invitation to the holiday house party that Iris would be attending. He had briefly encountered her the previous season and he just couldn't get her out of his head. Two of his married friends were going to be in attendance and one of them was actually married to Iris's sister!
Luckily, the interest between Wentworth and Iris was mutual and they were able to arrange some private time. Their love story moved along without any of the usual complications. Apparently even Iris's widowed father was in the midst of cultivating a new romance!
This was a happy little story without any angst whatsoever. There will be another romance to look forward to when the series continues with the group meeting again next year.

Having received an offer, Iris Rowland sneaks away from the ball to meet her betrothed. Earl of Wentworth is also in the garden for an assignation where he sees Iris. Their small talk leads to his interest in protecting Iris and so this rake informs her truthfully that her “betrothed” already has a fiancé. She thanks him and upon leaving the garden, witnesses a woman throwing herself in his arms. Too bad, she was interested in him, despite his reputation.

The author writes a lovely romance about a rake who finds himself thinking about just one woman, instead of conquests. Iris has taken up residence in his heart, and he garners an invitation to a party she’ll be attending so that he can purge her from his thoughts. It’s a delightful situation…former rakes are at first wary, but later dispense advice. Iris can’t believe he’s interested in her, but is willing to have a little fling. Enjoy this charming story. It’s a keeper.

Extremely well written novella. Fast paced read, full of love, drama, intrigue, romance and of course the Ton (Society). Henry is a rogue who has not yet found anyone to match his feelings and needs. Over the years , he has been unable to find or care for that certain woman till he runs into Iris at a ball. She was outside in the gardens waiting for the man who was courting her. Only to find out that he has made a match with a richer woman. After months, hr seeks out an invitation to a Christmas party. They both meet up again, he wants to see if he is able to put her aside. As they spend more time together , they find they share feelings for each other. By the end of this party , they both want to spend the rest of their tomorrows together. Fabulous storytelling by this amazing author. Would strongly recommend.

I d Iris and Wentworth’s story. The plot is nice and the characters are very likable. Wentworth’ confusion and their banters were quite charming.

Wentworth is a rake and does not believe in love. When he rescues Iris at the ball, he doesn’t understand why he is so fascinated by the girl that he even attends a Christmas house party to meet her again, a thing he has never done before.
Iris can’t believe that his interest in her is real and she certainly will not allow herself to fall for this rake...

If you historical romances with rakes and forward heroines, you will enjoy this book.

Although the book is part of the „Christmas Scandals“ series, it can be read as standalone.

After rescuing Iris from certain ruin, the Earl of Wentworth is tormented by thoughts of her. Eager to uncover more about the mysterious young woman, he schemes an invitation to the Christmas house party she’ll attend. But as he becomes increasingly drawn to Iris, the inconvenient desire between them threatens to bloom into an unexpected emotional connection.

I loved the characters and the light, fun tone of this book. The chemistry between Iris and Harry is adorable. He’s normally confident, but he’s lost in her. Despite her inexperience, she has no trouble keeping up with him.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review. Isobel (Semi-Hiatus)106

I must admit that I regretfully haven't read the first two books in this series, but I will remedy it as soon as possible. This charming novella was the perfect cure for my current reading slump.

Full of drama, intrigue and romance this fast-paced story between a notorious rake and a naive lady. In this well-written novella, you will have a good time reading about "How the Mighty Fall" because how can a seasoned rake fall in love at first sight with an innocent young lady? This is how.

If you are looking for a sweet romance to cuddle with a cuppa of tea and a blanket this is the one for you!

A Rogue For Christmas was the third book in the Christmas Scandals series. It was a short, romantic story that can be read alone or as the series. This is my favorite of the series so far. The story is mostly sweet with a little added spice. As it is a short Christmas novella, it works, but I would have d to have Wentworth as his full rakish self a little longer as he pursued Iris. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Quick novella. Lord Wentworth meets Iris in the garden at a ball at the end of the Season and saves her from the unworthy attentions of a scoundrel. After that one encounter, he can’t stop thinking of her, so he crashes a Christmas house party to appease his curiosity about her and then leave. However, when he meets Iris again, he’s instantly smitten and attracted to her and somehow has honorable intentions towards her. Iris is skeptical of Wentworth’s attentions since he’s a known to be a rake, but she indulges her own attraction anyway. This one was super quick and fun to read. Karen758 6

A feel good, swoon worthy regency romance!

When the Earl of Wentworth came across Iris Rowland, he didn’t realize that his life would be changed forever. He couldn’t get her out of his mind and he was determined to see her again so he arranged to attend a house party he knew she would be at in order to see her again.

Inst-love at its best in this short regency novella with lots of wonderful characters, wonderful moments and love flowing throughout the storyline!.

Tropes: rake/innocent, Christmas house party
Steam level: 2-3
Part of a series: yes, but works fine as a standalone

3.5 stars rounded up. This is a pleasant, steamy, short novella involving Iris Rowland, the still-unmarried Rowland sister, and Henry the Earl of Wentworth. Hits all the right HR notes for a quick Christmas Regency read, but not long enough for much plot or character development. The MC's have good chemistry for a book of this length.

An unexpected meeting, banter and a warning, Iris and Harry's first meeting memorable. So memorable Harry falls in love. Now to convince Iris - and her family. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this engaging, entertaining and unputdownable story! I loved the characters and the secondary characters - family - who look after Iris and her best interests. To fall for a rake? Can she? The story is well written fast paced, with lots of angst, friendship, banter, steam, and a HEA! It's a beautiful story perfect for a Christmas read!

The Earl of Wentworth is a rake who saves Iris Rowland from another rake at a ball. Now he can’t stop thinking about her. He decides to attend a house party she will attend. If he can just talk to her, he can’t get her out of his mind. That’s his plan, but the best laid plans, you know. Unexpectedly, a strong attraction develops between them. This is a light-hearted book filled with fun and humor. Wentworth and Iris are great together. He soon discovers something he thought didn’t exist, love.

Lord Wentworth is one of those jaded rogues who only want casual trysts with women who won't get stars in their eyes. But when he met Iris he lost all interest in those other encounters. He manages to get invited into a houseparty that Iris will be in, and a couple of days there is enough to seal his fate. This is a short read of eightysomething pages so it doesn't get very deep into anyone's motivations but I enjoyed it
Steam level: Some sexual content.

"I'm here because I can't stop thinking about you."

Short, no angst, steamy-sweet Christmas story that's perfect for a winter's evening. It was fun watching the rakish Lord Wentworth cluelessly fall in love with sweet Iris. Third in the series it has tons of spoilers for the first two books but can easily be read as a standalone. Can't wait until next Christmas to see who Violet has been writing letters to.

After a chance meeting in a dark garden rakish Wentworth can’t get Iris out of his head to where he doesn’t want another woman. They don’t spend a lot of time together at the house party before he has to convince her his intentions are honorable if still somewhat scandalous. I would have d more about them getting to know each other better before they jumped into a relationship in this short steamy romance. Sandy564

I think I enjoyed this book (of the three in the series) the most, with the first book being second best. I just d Wentworth’s character and his discovery of what he wanted and was interesting to see Thornton and Seaford kind of help him along. I d Iris a lot - she was believable- innocent but not naive. Infatuated but not idiotic in her reaction to him. It all moved fairly quickly but it was a shorter story. Angela2,020 11

A rogue is a rogue is …. not so much a rogue. Don’t you love it when a guy is so flabbergasted by his feelings he is kind of lost? It makes for a really fun read. Another cute read from Suzanna. This story is sweet and so heartwarming. I think I was smiling while reading the entire story. It is perfect for a Sunday afternoon pick me up.

I received a complimentary copy.

This is a great short holiday romance. Man keeps woman from making a bad choice and then starts to evaluate his own choices because he feels something for her. He cogitates for 6 months and then seeks her out to see if what he feels is true. Then he has to convince her that he's true.

Medeiros digs deep with surprising results. A Rogue for Christmas is a haunting tale of endearing intrigue and tempting romance that is determined to leave it's mark on the soul. Iris and Wentworth paint a captivating picture of heartbreak and hope that proves impossible to resist.first-reads1 J373

I loved Iris. She was so pragmatic that I really enjoyed reading about her. Wentworth was just the sort she needed, and he was smart enough to figure it out sooner rather than later.

This is the third story in the "Christmas Scandals" series. It is a fairly short and quick holiday historical romance. This is such an enjoyable romantic read about Iris and Harry. He is the Earl of Wentworth and ends up saving her from ruin. It is a cute love at first sight romance. Maria628 9

Loved reading Harry and Iris's scandalous story of unexpected love where the Rogue falls for a lady during the Christmas season. Full of love and attraction. Lisa H4,760 18
