Under Jackson Bridge a gripping psychological thriller that is so easy to get lost in and kept me engrossed right through to the end. As do all the books I have thoroughly enjoyed by this author. Susan once again cleverly plots and weaves a complex web of secrets in this gripping tale.
The high stakes are high as single mum Irena is drawn in to a world of deceit and lies, suspense and danger in this thriller. It is a place where tensions run high, and the fear is palpable.
What was supposed to be a good time turns into a nightmare but when you look closely not everything is as it seems. What would you do to get away from a secret life?
There is something for everyone who enjoys a good mystery thriller. I can’t wait to read more works by this author.2 s Judy Morris1,120 27

This was a edge of the seat thriller by my thinking. Loved it Susan. I also love the cover of it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read your newest book.

My third book by Susan Specht Oram, and it did not disappoint! Irena just wishes her ex-husband, Jack would get caught up on child support and get a real job. She is doing her best as a single mother and her boyfriend, Buzz just moved in. When they all go out on a boat to celebrate their friend’s promotion, Jack is swept overboard and disappears. The search for him continues, but weird clues keep popping up here and there. Is he dead, or did he disappear to escape his life? Five stars!!1 Katie Turner80 1 follower

Under Jackson Bridge by Susan Specht Oram is a riveting thriller that I could not put down. Irena Fishbone is trying to keep peace with her boyfriend Buzz and her ex-husband Jack, particularly for the sake of her daughter Kelly, but also because she cannot bring herself to hate her ex. He drives her a little crazy- choosing materialistic objects he can’t afford over saving their marriage, and his lack of financial support after divorce- but she clearly still cares for him and acknowledges his importance in their daughter’s life.

When several friends gather for a celebratory boating trip for Craig, Jack and Irena both end up in the ice-cold waters but only Irena is rescued. Everyone is either searching or keeping an eye out for Jack, but all they seem to find are strange clues, leading Irena and Kelly to believe he is still out there somewhere despite not recovering a body in the water. Did he make it out of the water that evening or did the sea take him?

If you enjoy a fast-paced thriller that will keep you guessing, you should definitely give this story a chance! This was my first story by this author, and I will be keeping an eye out for more.ibbb-1 Bobbi Wagner4,339 43

This is the first book in a new series by this author. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. I enjoy her writing style as well as her creativity that makes her characters pop. This book is no different. It is a well written story that has twists and turns no other. This is a story about what happens when you have a single mom stumbles onto some secrets that just may put her life in danger. Irena has made her way in life despite her ex-husbands help. What will happen when they are brought together by a celebration and a rogue wave has them in a situation that is unexpected? I enjoyed Irena’s character. She is determined and engaging. She is my favorite of the story. What happens between her and her ex-husband will have you coming back for more and certainly you don’t want to miss it. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story which made it easy to read. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. I look forward to seeing what is next in this series for sure. I highly recommend this book.1 Jennifer241 7

Susan Specht Oram's "Under Jackson Bridge" centers around Irena Fishbone, a determined single mom who is driven by a sense of justice and a need for closure. When her ex-husband, who owes her ten years of child support, goes missing during a shipboard celebration, Irena's world is turned upside down.

One of the standout aspects of this novel is its well-developed protagonist. Irena is a relatable and likable character who is easy to root for. Her determination and resilience are inspiring, and her emotional journey is both authentic and heart-wrenching.

The writing is also noteworthy. Oram's prose is engaging and descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the small-town setting and the characters that inhabit it. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of high tension and suspense expertly woven throughout the narrative.

The plot is complex and layered, with multiple threads that come together to create a surprising and satisfying conclusion.

I was excited to come across Under Jackson Bridge in the kindle store because I’ve read books by Susan Specht Oram in the best and really enjoyed them. I really enjoyed this book overall, though there were some things toward the beginning of the storyline that made me a little judgy. Things so insignificant now that I’ve finished the book, I couldn’t list them… except for Jack and his shoes! While there were times that I felt the storyline was a little slow to pick up, I loved that by the time I got to the end of a chapter, I was left in suspense and needed to read “just one more”. Each of the main characters made me suspicious and I never quite warmed up to them but the writing and twists of the storyline make it absolutely worth the ride. I am honestly excited that the author is releasing this as a series and look forward to seeing what book number two is !

This is an unputdownable thriller. Five people start out on a boat trip and only four return. Jack is Irena's ex-husband, Kelly is their daughter, Buzz is Irena's boyfriend, Craig owns the boat and Irena is determined to find out what happened on that fateful trip. When they hit rough seas Jack falls overboard. No-one wants to believe he's drowned, and the search comes up empty except for some unusual clues that prove he's alive and doesn't want to be found. As the clues come together it appears that Jack has escaped his debts and will return to his loves Irena and Kelly one day. Will he return in this twisty tale of love and jealousy?? It will keep you guessing to the very end. I would recommend this book.1 Angela5,764 73

3.5 Stars

Under Jackson Bridge is the first instalment in the Beyond the Bridge Series by Susan Specht Oram- and is a bit of a twisty psychological thriller full of dramatic developments, tension, and suspense.
Irena Fishbone’s relationship with her ex-husband takes an even more complicated turn while when on a celebratory cruise with friends, the two end up in the water, but only Irene makes it out. What happened to Jack? The question plagues Irene, and with no body, there is little chance of closure. With some perplexing and intriguing discoveries, Irene begins to unravel a tangled web of secrets and lies- and the story takes a suspenseful turn.
Looking forward to seeing what Book #2 brings!
Happy Reading…

So these people have been friends since high school and are still friends into adulthood so when one of them , Craig , gets promoted they go on a boat trip to celebrate …but it soon turns to disaster

What baffled me is the issues they have with each other as we get a glimpse into their feelings on the way to said trip it feels they’ve outgrown each other but are holding for whatever reason
