Eric Rowley, Earl of Ferrington, is a roguish charmer, but only one woman will ever own his heart - Lady Faith Embury. Despite her sharp-tongued insults, Eric can't help but be drawn to her. He agrees to help to solve the next clue in his friend Gideons’ treasure hunt even if it means travelling to Spain. Faith will never forgive, and never forget what Eric did, but nor can she move on. She has no confidence in him to do what is required as the man even gets lost on his own estate. The only way to ensure success is to tag along herself. When Eric discovers his stowaway, he is both delighted and perturbed. For their forced proximity is sure to mean ruin, and he isn’t sure that she will ever agree to an arranged marriage.
The fourth book in the series & the hunt for the treasure is hotting up, I’d recommend reading the books in order. I loved both Eric & Faith & loved their slow burn, close proximity, road trip (or in their case boat trip) romance. I loved that it was Eric holding a torch for Faith & she gradually learned to trust him again. I loved the chemistry between them & also their banter, how they became friends & needed to rely on each other whilst all the time falling in love. There is also excitement & adventure plus a mystery highwayman, the author’s books just keep getting better & better. I look forward to the final instalment

So there are a few authors I read that I call my “go to” authors. "Go-to" is when I have read all my "regular" authors new releases and looking for more to read until the next group of new releases come out. Ellie St. Clair is one of those authors. Nothing against not calling her one of my “regular authors” because I really enjoy her books and always get a good read. I just picked up her books way later than some of the other authors I read. I to know I have some good authors to fall back on. This is my 27th book by her. I picked up 1 book in late 2017, then 2 more in 2018 and then not again until May 2022 and I have read 23 of her books since.

I d this book. I d the story. I even d the couple Eric and Faith to a point. Faith drove me crazy with her insecurities. I get it. It’s the era but jeez. Almost the whole book she was so insecure. That would drive me crazy having to convince her all the time she was enough. As always, the ending was a HEA which is all I read. The ending was good. I've this treasure hunt storyline that carries over.2 s5 comments Suzette2,908 19

The hunt for the treasure continues in this exciting fourth installment in series. The plot takes the characters across the country and the continent as they chase clues. Eric and Faith must set their dis aside and work together to stay ahead of those chasing them. Readers will love Faith’s fiery and passionate nature. They will also love how Eric uses glib dialogue as a catalyst to make her laugh. It is a wonderful story that readers will enjoy turning the pages to the very end.2 s Nicole675 10

This book will have you travelling from England to Spain and back to England again.

If you adventure this series and this book is for you.

She has sworn to never trust him after he broke her heart but she doesn't trust him to go to Spain and to get the treasure he is supposed to so she hatches a plan to join him on the adventure. She never expected to find out that everything she thought she believed about him wasn't true.

He has been determined to try and win back her trust, but nothing he does has worked and he has no clue what he did to earn her disdain. So he decides to go on a treasure hunt to Spain with the hope that she will either miss him or he will just move on with his life. But what he didn't expect was for her to join him on the treasure hunt.

While they are on their adventure and they are not only finding out that they can be friends but they can be so much more. They laugh, they enjoy each other's company, and they start to fall to in love with each other.

This story is full of adventure, laughter, love and a treasure hunt that leads to love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

I can't wait for the next book!

I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of Eric and Faith! Their adventurous travels for the next clue was entertaining and their love story was a slow burn. I can’t wait for the next book in the Castleton treasure. If you mystery, adventure and love stories you should read this. 1 Nanna919 3

I love this series, but one really should read the books in order. Each book has a clue that needs to be followed. The treasure they are looking for will help their friends restore and save their family estate. As the group of friends find and follow the clues, teams find a lot more as they work together. Eric Rowley, The Earl of Ferrington is a charmer and rogue. He is d by most and fun loving except for Lady Faith Embury. She doesn’t him around and is always throwing sharp barbs his way and trying to avoid him period. Eric can’t understand why she has disd him for the last two years. They had one meeting and a kiss leading to him looking forward to a friendship and much more then she went cold overnight. He has always been drawn to her even with her sharp tongue and pointed looks. She is beautiful and he is still drawn to her. Sure, she is the only woman for him. Faith has tried to stay away from Eric as best she can, it hard when they have the same friends and her closest friend, Persephone, married his brother, Noah. She was heartbroken after what he did, after her first kiss. The next clue will take Eric to Spain to find out more. Faith doesn’t trust him to be able to solve the problem, so she follows him, on board the boat. After Eric finds out he doesn’t know how to feel delighted she is there, mad she put herself in danger or shocked that she distrusts him enough to follow him. Oh, my what a journey these two will have they have so much to solve with the mystery, their feelings and past, danger and ruin. How they handle all is an amazing read to the end. What a story. A fake marriage and a shooting among other things. There are a lot of misunderstandings, secrets and hidden feelings before they both find what they need and want. There is steam in this story but more affection, feelings and love. Be sure and do not miss this series, yes there is a short of a cliff hanger as each book leads to other clue, but each couple stories have a wonderful ending. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it. I can’t wait for the next clue and couple. Linda J.1,274 12

4.5 STARS

I enjoyed the H from the first and d his forthright manner. The h was usually a very confident women. Of course, she lacked this confidence when dealing with the H. Her attitude about his past got old for me. Even when the H explained, very convincingly, that what she thought she saw wasn't at all.

You will be treated to adventure, suspense, violence, twists and intrigue. I loved the honest dialogue the H always gave. The h's conversation with the H about him taking a mistress was perfect.

Lovemaking within marriage heat level 5 out of 5, filled with passion and love and described in detail a few times. Romance grows slowly especially for the h.

There is a cliffhanger in the outcome of the treasure, but not for our H/h. Nice set up in the epilogue for the last story in the series. This author weaves a story that is never dull and throws twists in that are surprising.

No cheating, HEA, romantic and steam. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you some extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase.

I received an ARC from Bookfunnel and all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb) Lana Birky1,446 17

This is a continuation of a series that one needs to read in order as friends are hunting for a treasure. The heroine in this story has been emotionally hurt by the hero and it really wasn’t his fault as he truly loves her. But she has a low self esteem so for a couple of years she has been totally rude to him and avoids him as much as possible. The hero goes on the next journey of the hunt and she follows on the same ship. Then the adventure begins. There is intrigue, attempted rape, a doting but stern father, a stolen map, kidnapping, gunshots, and of course, finding love. It was a good read and I am definitely looking forward to the next and last episode of the series. I received an ARC for an honest review. 1 Laura 1,198 3

This is a fun, entertaining, captivating read. Eric and Faith are intriguing, entertaining, relatable characters. They captured my attention from the start and held it until the very end. Their romance is very fitting and enjoyable to read. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. I love that all these characters are familiar and we get to see the characters from previous books. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see how things work out with the treasure and the romance between our final couple. The book is easy to read and get into.

More fun and games abound for our intrepid adventurers who are determined to help their friends in the search for a treasure! This book follows Eric and Faith in their journey across England & Spain. How they overcome their past issues and learn to trust each other makes this a wonderful story. There is intrigue, suspense, danger, adventure, and lots of romance in this book which held my interest from start to finish. I especially loved the final chapters. Don’t miss this series.

Eric heads to Spain to search for a clue to a treasure he and his friends are looking for. To his surprise he finds Faith in his cabin on the ship. He has been pining for her and she holds disdain for his roguish ways. But forced proximity brings them closer but Faith is leary of his affections, not knowing if she can trust him. After a short adventure in Spain, they are found out and become betrothed. Their adventure is not over yet as trouble follows them from Spain. Will they and their friends be able to solve the next clue while Faith and Eric navigate their new marriage? J372

After reading about them in the other books, we finally get Faith and Eric’s story, and it does not disappoint. Eric’s light-hearted, fun personality is the perfect antidote to Faith’s steadfastness, and they complement each other perfectly. I love it when it is obvious that the male hero wants the female hero, and with the trip to Spain and the activities back on English soil, this book was a wonderful read.1 AmazingJ703 6
