If the love for your partner is true, it may make you winch things to any extent. But then, when you’re not ready to show yourself up to the world, then…
Here is a bite over our weekend read, ‘The Colour of Passion’ by Sourabh Mukherjee.

“A monster, some called her.
But in the shadows, only
Said in whispers, she was
An Angel in Red”
- Emory R. Frie

The mystery takes its course in this way;
The story opens with the death of Hiya Sen, who has set the fame and flame in millions of hearts. She gets killed after brutally raped by three persons. The trauma occurs ahead of her husband, Manav Chauhan, who is helpless being unable to save the life of his newly wed wife and himself. The plot of the story stitches from here, with ACP Agni Mitra’s acceptance to scrutinize the case with Inspector Arya.

On the contrary, even before Agni can connect the dots, a series of killings ensues, making him to think through uncertainty. At the end, when the killer whale is discovered, the reason behind it will leave you dumbfounded.

‘And unrequited love was always a dangerous motivation’ – Quoted from the book.

The portrayal of the life-style of the well-heeled, comparing with the background of the city, predominantly making the reader to doubt each character in the story to the crime has made the tale successful. The story, towards the end, put lights on yet another love, which the author has nailed it. ‘Who’s the serial killer?’ ‘What’s the reason behind his killings?’, when u find answers to these questions, you would be astonished just as me.

The author Sourabh Mukherjee has penned the tale in a lucid way. He has the dexterity needed to deal with a mystery, in a mysterious way. The gradual rise and fall in the tone of the story line has a great influence on subsequently developing secrets. The justification for characters, love carefully concealed behind the crime plot, with eye seizing one liners turning up now and then has made the story distinctive.

The Colour of Crime is Red, and so the ‘Love’

Everything looks good to us from a distance. Hiya , any other small town girl had dreams of becoming famous. She leaves her education in between and runs away to Kolkata to chase her dreams. Soon she is the reigning queen of Tollywood. She meets Manav Chauhan , a successful business , a love story sparks and they get married.

And then , Hiya is brutally raped and murdered. What seemed to be a local spat in a club turned out to be a well plotted murder. ACP Agni Mitra investigates the case where he arrests 3 men hired to murder Hiya – Mustaq ,Rishi and Ashfaq but the case is not closed yet. He suspects something else and further during investigation meets Manav’s ex-fiancee , Neha Awasthi ; her father who was eyeing to expand his business with the alliance ; an alcoholic male model Manav and a former tollywood diva Rituja.

Just the same time , two more murders make headlines. What is the connection between these murders? How will Agni solve this case?

The story had my attention throughout. I just couldn’t keep this book down and right till the end I couldn’t guess neither the murderer nor the reason behind the murders. A well written novel with perfect twist and turns and an eye opening end.

Hardly I come across authors who write such amazing thrillers with two of my fav genres infused in a single book. I have been a fan of Sourabh Mukherjee's murder thrillers' and I look forward to read his books every time. The colour of passion 'as shown in the cover' depicts the colour red as it signifies revenge and love too. when I started reading it since the very first page I knew it would very easy for me to find the murdered but as expected I was wrong, since the very first page you will start guessing about the murderer and u will surely doubt each and every character and still you will fail to predict the ending. The writing is crisp, lucid and amazingly captivating, you won't be ale to keep the book down till the time you complete it. The editing is just flawless, from the cover to the blurb, everything is just good, I couldn't find any single flaw that can disappoint any reader. This book can be easily awarded as the best murder thriller of the year3 s Divya Ramnath BandodkarAuthor 3 books19

There are books out there that you enjoy reading. And there are also some books which you make you feel you have lived it. Sourabh Mukherjee's work belongs to the later category. I have read the first book of Agni Mitra Crime thriller. I was awestruck by the story, the characters and the narration. This book is the second book under Agni Mitra thriller. And, I totally loved reading it.

Sourabh's way of story-telling is different than other crime authors. His stories compel you to think that a certain incident is bound to happen and when you reach that particular turn of the story, he surprises you witj something else. His plots are unpredictable and surprising ones. And that is precisely the reason why I love reading his books.

The Colours of Passion is another of Sourabh's best works. The author makes you paint a picture about the story setting with his commendable narration. You begin to imagine that you're in that place, at that very moment and experiencing the things happening near you. Story has been woven intricately keeping each and every thing in mind. The third person narration done in a simple yet gripping language makes for the pleasant reading experience. The characters develop over time, as you read the story. You feel you're on a quest of discovering the characters.

Five reasons why you should read 'The Colours of Passion'
1. Awesome storyline.
2. Perfectly etched characters.
3. Impeccable narration.
4. It will keep you hooked on to it until the last page.
5. It's Sourabh Mukherjee's book.

I can sum up this book in just one word - unputdownable.

I rate-
Cover- 4/5
Characters- 5/5
Story- 4.5/5

I rate 'The Colours of Passion' with 4.5/5 stars.3 s Rajan629 40

A good murder mystery is a page turner. There are many writers who excel in this genre. Yet it is very difficult to keep the identity of real culprit hidden till end. Many red herrings are to be planted and it is a cat and mouse game between author and the reader.

In the very first scene Tollywood’s (Bangla film industry) heartthrob Hiya Sen is brutally murdered. The identity of killers is no secret and they are apprehended. She recently married Manav Chauhan a business tycoon. The case is not as simple as it appears, so it is given to ACP Agni Mitra and inspector Arya. The marriage of Hiya and Manav took place after he broke up with a spoilt brat of a rich dad. There are many unanswered questions. Can Agni find out the truth?

This is the second book of Sourabh Mukherjee which I read. First one was “In the shadows of death”. I d both. The qualities of good murder mystery as told in first para are available in this book. The investigator is intelligent, observant and persistent. Agni doesn’t come under pressure and gets to the bottom of this murky tale.

I give the book 4/ 5 stars.
indian-english-authors thriller-espionage-mystery3 s Nirmalya Banerjee4

A young tollywood actress who has gained recent fame gets gangraped and brutally murdered at the very onset of the story. The criminals are nabbed and the trio confess their crime. Despite all the media glare and public scrutiny, the case looks a pretty open and shut one. But the police become a bit uneasy when the culprits admit that they were paid for this sinister assignment. Who was the kingpin, no one knows. That's when the protagonist, ACP Agni Mitra enters the crime scene and the ball starts rolling.

Well glitz and glamour of the film world has always been a favoured backdrop of the thriller genre. The very mystique aura or inquisition about celebrities ;their hook ups, break ups, criminal links, mutual spats and innumerable controversies have served as a wonderful framework which has been exploited by thriller writers and filmmakers. Christie's "The mirror cracked from side to side" is one of the earliest example of this kind. The question is what new does the Author Sourabh Mukherjee offers in his latest venture "The colours of passion" which deals with the darker aspects of the glamour world?
Firstly for a reader me who was unaware of a detective named Agni Mitra, the central character comes as a big surprise. Un Holmes, Poirot, Dupin or Marple, Agni Mitra isn't an armchair detective. He isn't the typical cerebral sleuth who would crack mysteries sitting besides the fire place rattling his grey cells. He is a product of the hardboiled genre but un Marlowe or Spade he doesn't have the uncontrollable affinity towards women or money. He is tough yet vulnerable, stoic yet emotionally wounded. He lives with a haunting tragedy but even his depressed soul doesn't give away to defeat or temptations. So the writer deserves accolades for sketching a character who is more human and can't be merely described by a linear term "hero".

Secondly one problem with a whodunit tale is often there are a lot of suspense angles forced in the narrative. A lot of red herrings are forcefully injected to heighten the suspense factor. A poker-faced gentleman keeping a tap of every movement of the detective turns out in the end to be none other than another inspector. Here the writer not even once have resorted to such cheap antics. The writing is so lucid that events flow in natural course and nothing seems hackneyed or preposterous. The editing is top-notch. All the characters have been carefully crafted keeping with pace of the plot which not even once bores the reader.

The denouement and the events building up to it forms the most crucial juncture of the story. All throughout, the suspicion for the ghastly crime hovers around a number of characters - The starlet of the yesteryears Rituja, victims husband Manav, Manav's ex Neha, Victim's ex Mayank and so many others but the revelation is shocking indeed. It's an unconventional manoeuvring rendered completely believable by the preceding turn of events which one did read but wasn't able to connect the dots before the climax. The surprise element clearly reigns supreme.

Lastly I would say that a good suspense story is way beyond the crime puzzle. Here the story clealy represents Kolkata as a character and not as a mere backdrop. The author displays an eye for detail without being overbearing. The epilogue doesn't merely sum up the motive and method of murders but states a social message beautifully without appearing preachy.

Overall it was an extremely gratifying experience reading the novel, a rare take on crime and sensibility.2 s Sohinee Reads & Reviews (Bookarlo)333 272

"The Colours of Passion" is one of those books that would make you severely uncomfortable but you couldn’t resist to complete it. The only thing which you can do is to keep going until you reach the end. That’s exactly what I did. The premise starts with a disturbing rape scene of the regnant doyenne Hiya Sen, who is raped and then murdered mercilessly and at the time of investigation three miscreants are found to be related to the murder. Along with the “darling of the city”, her husband of a fortnight, the business magnate Manav Chauhan and the chauffeur who was accompanying them that night, gets severely beaten up. This opening scene was so graphically written (not as much as 13 reasons why) that it made me shudder a little bit. The actual story begins with the investigation of the murder by the investigator ACP Agni Mitra along with his co-investigator, Arya. As they tread on dark waters and unravel new secrets, all the clandestine secrets spills forward into the spotlight and are laid bare for reader’s scrutiny.

As they say, there’s always more to than what meets the eye, this book lives up to this phrase. With each chapter, a new link towards the actual murder is disclosed, all the while making the story rise on the interesting meter.

What made it compelling was the fact that the story was progressing slowly as new characters were introduced into the plotline un other books where the plot seems to be stuck. Another thing which I would to mention here is that the characters were developing with each new chapter and though they each of them were introduced suddenly, the author managed to give them enough space into the plotline to make their mark; every character had something to contribute to the storyline.

Agni acts as a pseudo protagonist in the absence of Hiya Sen on whom the whole plot is set. So, in the story Agni acts as a protagonist but if I think of it, Hiya had to be the main character if she had been alive. The character of Agni was really well thought of. He had been shown to be witty and thoughtful along with being able to think from all perspectives: the qualities of a true detective, indeed!

As the story progresses and as I got acquainted with the characters, I was suspecting all of them to be the culprit. Mukherjee has crafted the plot in such a way that you would be suspicious of every single character and that’s where the frustration lies and also the thrilling experience to get to know who the actual criminal is; and that’s how you make a book a ‘page turner’. Also, the chapters were really short (1-3 pages) and each ended with a cliffhanger and that is what is going to keep you going.

MY FINAL VERDICT —

This book definitely has that “wow factor” which I have been looking for lately

This is one of those books where you wouldn’t be able to heave a sigh of relief until and unless you reach the end of the book and successfully unveil all the murder mysteries which would ultimately lead you to the culprit. The word weaving and the whole plot build-up was so riveting that I couldn’t keep my eyes off the page; a definite page turner with an equally compulsive storyline is what made this book a great read for me.2 s Dalia (book_o_creativity)444 66

The nation was shocked to know when the news of Hiya Sen's murder came. Within days of her fairy-tale wedding to real estate tycoon Manav Chauhan, Hiya Sen the reigning queen of Tollywood is brutally violated and murdered and her husband grievously hurt on their way home after partying late into the night. Now it's upon Agni Mitra, the uncanny ACP of Kolkata Police to find the culprit and solve the web of mystery before the dark secrets he is guarding so well keeps tumbling out.

"The Web Of Lies" is a mystery, crime, thriller narrating a tale of love, loss, grief and murder while gliding through the glamorous streets of business, tele-operas, movies and fashion. The book starts with an engaging plotline with gripping mystery as to who is the killer when every trail ultimately leads to dead end. What is noteworthy about this book is the unpredictability of the story. The writing does feel sometimes going haywire but it soon takes pace with the major breakthroughin the case, unraveling the twist. Although I the character sketches of most of the characters, I didn't find our protagonist, the detective in this case much intriguing. Another aspect that didn't quite sit well with me is the sloppy police job, throughout the book the case didn't seem a pressing matter for the police. I hope to see more developed sketch of ACP Agni Mitra.

Coming to the writing, it was engaging, the intricate web of conspiracy was ideed something I missed for a long time but sometimes it did go haywire as well with unrelated discussions. Writing quality is good, the narrative flows smoothly. Due to its simple narrative it can be a good beginner friendly book.crime detective-fiction fiction ...more2 s Ritu Mantri252 16

Detective Agni Mitra is back searching for the real culprit behind the rape and murder of famous Tollywood actor Hiya.

It seems a straight forward random case of a henious crime but one single piece of information changed the entire scenario. What was appearing to be random case of crime turned out to be pre planned murder. This served as a hook which will make you turn page after page in curiosity.

Though the real culprit and reason behind the crime was tightly sealed but author keeps the readers glued to the book by continuous suspect on other characters and their probable motive behind committing the crime.

The book is a page turner but there are things which disturbs me. What I don't about Saurabh's writing is the way he portrays his female characters. Women in his books are always sex hungry, derogatory and low on moral values.

Another thing which I find rather odd is the public reaction to the rape and murder of a famous Tollywood actor. Public reaction didn't find any place in the story. Whereas we all can imagine such a crime can create an uproar across the country. But author went on to describe Durga Puja in Bengal. Things are completely normal. Family members are giving indifferent reactions as of it hardly matters. Even for the protagonist Agni Mitra it was any other criminal case there was no strong reaction.

However the story makes a strong point regarding the issue of homosexuality, society reluctance to accept such relationship and how people with different sexual orientation suffers.

A great story which would make you say is this person the real culprit in the end. A plot that was so beautifully scripted without giving even the slightest hint as to who was the real culprit. The story begins with a murder of an actress Hiya Sen. Her high profile better half Manav Chauhan gets beaten brutally and gets admitted in the hospital.

Agni and Arya enters the scene since the duty of investigation falls on them. Agni starts his interrogation and his doubt falls on Rituja Bose with whom she had a spat. Rituja also had a relationship with Mayank Kapoor who in turn was seeing Hiya as well even after she got married.

On the other hand, Manav breaks up the engagement with Neha prior to getting married to Hiya. Now there are lot of complications as to who the real culprit is and while they were trying to get the investigation complete, couple of murders happens which throws away the investigation angle into a deep chaos.

But having the brainiac Agni an Arya, the case gets unfolded in the end with some unexpected twists and turns and the plot for these murders were even more surprising. Give it a read of this thriller and I am sure you would be entertained till the end for sure.

Sourabh's book is a classic murder mystery thriller with twists and turns that have been well executed. It has been so long since I read a thriller in a single sitting. The first 100 pages of the page are simply unputdownable. They are so gripping that the next fifty pages seem to be slower paced. The climax whooshes in unexpectedly and ties up all the loose ends neatly. Also, I love the descriptions of the Kolkatta city that have been etched out in an intriguing and interesting manner that the book has inspired me to visit this city soon.2 s Shivangi Rawat112 1 follower

The colours of passion by Sourabh Mukherjee is an interesting thriller that begins with the rape and murder of a popular Tollywood actress.
As the attackers are identified and jailed, a trail begins to form that shows that there are bigger parties at play there. I how the story had a strong start with which to intrigue the readers so as to keep building the suspense. The language and the writing style itself supports the thrill that the plot tries to build. The introduction of ACP Agni, the person who has a strong passion towards solving cases is also well done and his character remains so strong throughout. The doubt as to who the murderer vpuld be remained in my mind till the mystery was solved so it was not predictable in any way.
Another positive point would have to be the editor who didn't let a single error remain in the book.
The author seems to me a person who wants to raise the name of Indian literature with his compelling stories and and crisp writing.
As the single killing of Hiya Sen turns into an event of serial killing, it makes the premise more intense and every character is a suspect. The justification of characters and the carefully concealed agenda of the crime made this story distinctive.
I would recommend this book to all suspense lovers.2 s Dhwani Swadia262 49

This is the second book of the Agni Mitra series (You can read the first book “In the Shadows of Death’s review here).

I felt that the plot of this book was crafted really well. In the by lanes of Calcutta, the author weaves yet another compelling murder mystery. The newly married actress, Hiya Singh, is brutally raped and murdered by three men after a club brawl. What is seemingly a case of random violence turns into a sordid tale of betrayal when it is discovered that these three had been hired to kill the actress.

The author manages to hide his cards really well. It is not until the climax that one can guess both the motive and the person who was behind the murders. The pace of the novel is quite fast which manages to keep the readers hooked on to the story.2 s Dipanshu RawalAuthor 4 books130

Sourabh has done it once again. The brilliant thrill... the mystery of the plot... the solid story... and gripping narration! I am not a thriller-novel fan, but this man's writing and books are unarguably amazing.

The book starts with the murder and rape scene of Tollywood heart-throb Hiya Sen and the introduction of ACP Agni to the case. That's where the thrill starts. The author engages the reader throughout the book with his captivating language, that makes this a page-turner. The portrayal and the mystery of the murder are intriguing. The editor has done a wonderful job, making sure the language is perfect in the book.

I've always mentioned Sourabh as an underrated Indian author in various Facebook group discussions. After reading books these, the future of Indian literature seems promising.

Intentionally, I am not describing the story plot here, as I feel it'd not be worth. The time you'll spend on reading this book will be worth it. So, go and grab your copy :D

Mr. Saurabh Mukharjee’s ” The Colours of Passion ” novel base on the murder mystery. The chapters are crisp, short and up to the point which makes the readers to guess and proves them wrong at the end. This engrossing book doesn’t fail to surprise the readers with its amazing twists and turns at the end.

As mentioned in Blurb, Story starts with a gruesome rape scene. The Tollywood heart-throb ‘Hiya Sen’, is brutally raped and murdered by three men. Hard-hitting words by author makes a deep impact on the reader. Hiya’s husband Manav Chauhan, is brutally wounded and so is their old and trusted, family driver ‘Lakhan’. Background story of the murder creates a deep sense of mystery.

In subsequent chapters, the ACP along with the help of an inspector try to unearth the reason and find the prime suspect. Agni and Arya are in charge of the investigation.Agni starts his interrogation and his doubt falls on interesting aspects two prime suspects Rituja Bose who had a relationship with Mayank Kapoor who in turn was seeing Hiya as well even after she got married, and Neha Awasthi, with whom Manav breaks up the engagement prior to getting married to Hiya, the entire plot becomes always keeps you busy with something new to be discovered on the next page and also keeps you engaged throughout the story.

After that the case takes a sharp turn in the story, when the driver ( Lakhan ) who accompanied Hiya on that evil night was also murdered after some months and her so called boyfriend was also found dead.

who is the mastermind behind this neatly / perfectly sketched plan murders ? What was the motive behind those murders ?what happened next in the story ? where story leads the investigation of ACP. Agni Mitra and Arya sen ? To find out the answers, guys just go on a ride with ACP Agni Mitra and Arya Sen to find out the criminals ,this book is hard to put down without completing.Though the book is a crime thriller still the book also delivers a great social message which I want the readers uncover by their ownself.

Language and Narration-

The language is simple , lucid and easy to understand and also perfectly written what should be in a perfect novel. Story is narrated from the perspective of Hiya, Manav, Agni, Arya. The writing is style is lucid and amazingly captivating, you won’t be able to keep the book down till the time you complete it.

Book Cover and Title-

According to me the title ” Colours of Passion ” portray’s much about story and also gives the reader a small hint about the story that it could be a ride of different shades of passion. And The cover depicts the colour red as it signifies revenge and love too. The picture of Howrah Bridge on the knife at the cover page hints the reader that the story is set up in the city of “Kolkata”.

The Cover:

As one can make out, the front cover is a spectrum of colours ranging from yellow to different shades of red. The metal of the knife with just a sliver of its handle is visible. On the knife is some blood smeared, and it joins the blood-red hue in the spectrum that flows and stops to form the title. Much thought and effort has been put into designing the cover. This gives the reader an impression that he/she is in for a murder mystery. Meticulous work by Abir Kr Sanyal.

The Blurb:

The blurb is all the more inviting and is written over the backdrop depicting a cosmopolitan city. Also, the colour red is dominant, which shows that this isn't the usual kind of story, plus after having read the blurb, curiosity piques to uncover the truth in this murder-mystery novel.

My Take:

The difference between a writer and a storyteller is as thin as a line on a graph. Yet, some fantastic stories are born when it's told right on that line. The author has managed to tell a story on that line throughout the course in such gripping manner with short - to the point chapters. The storyteller starts his story by narrating a gruesome rape scene. The hard-hitting words make a deep impact on the reader. In subsequent chapters, the ACP along with the help of an inspector try to unearth the reason and find the prime suspect. The chapters are crisp, short and to the point. The author hasn't wasted much words to drag the story. a good filmmaker, the author knows when to cut the scene.

In addition to that, the editor has done a fine job in tightening the chapters. Slowly, chapter after chapter, this whodunit murder-mystery takes shape and towards the end, although kind of predictable, the author has managed to convey a very important message to the society. The power that the epilogue exudes will stand in the memory of the reader even long after the book is read.

Verdict: Masterful storytelling. Impactful. This book must be read by every Indian to become more open-minded.

The quaint verve of celebrities force not be as colourful as it seems to the laymen. nearby are stories of love, lust, betrayal, revenge, hard-working? and catastrophe behind the shining lives of the actors and actresses. Sourabh Mukherjee has weaved a tale that might be counted as the prototype of the acclaim lives.
The plot unveils with the brutal rape and murder of flourishing artiste and heartthrob Hiya Sen, inside a fortnight of her wedding. Her partner Manav Chauhan and driver are beaten unconscious. being after the shocking murder, the culprits are arrested. a new worm is accede to out what time the culprits declare the harm to be conscious and a agree to work. ACP Agni is assigned the lawsuit publicize the revelation. His investigation brings onwards a number of suspects, the set up amongst the to be artist Rituja who had a quarrel with Hiya, Actor Mayank Kapoor Hiya's pitch before marriage, Neha Awasti who was Manav's Ex-fiancee and Mr. Awasti, Neha's father. Agni's investigation reaches a quiet come to an end with plentiful suspects and no evidence. It is after that that two added murders bring in a new neutral to the investigation.
I would to tag this order as innovative since a comparable occurrence has happened in Malayalam Film Industry, an allegation of hire rape. from this time the entirety plot is imaginative realistic and futuristic. The disposition fashion is the highlight of the book. The idiosyncrasies of the personality are depicted tangibly. The several affairs, the pub life, the finery and the underlying mystery is portrayed well.

The anxiety spinning behind the culprit was predictable or at slightest I guessed it real but the motivation behind the crime was the frank hero. It was not barely unpredictable but novel as well. This capacity be my not public experience. Rituja's atmosphere description was misogynistic, cliches and from this time a twist off. A female or a hopeful star leasing off her saree pallu to ask a star to her bedroom is a worked, overworked.reading-completed1 Kiranmayi437 13

The book starts with the death of starlet Hiya Sen who got married very recently to the successful entrepreneur Manav Chauhan. Though it initially looks a case of tragedy caused by some miscreants, the suspense gets deep after ACP Agni gets involved in the case along with Inspector Arya. While the cops go about investigating the sequence of events that led to this death, everyone surrounding Hiya and Manav come across as suspects with most having some reason or other to avenge the couple. And before the suspense is sorted, more deaths follow. What follows is Agni cracking the case while the reader wonders if there is a serial killer on the prowl, are these deaths connected and is Hiya’s death a well planned execution.

The story takes the reader around the lanes and by lanes of Kolkata while showcasing the life of stars from the entertainment industry. The book is unputdownable from the word go as there is never a dull moment. Everyone seem to have their own hidden motive or so the reader will feel, up till the pre-climax where the suspense gives way to how the dots are all connected.

On the flip side, some of the characters are cliched young actresses are assumed to be arrogant, the older and out of demand ones are desperate. The writing and investigation is not as sophisticated and scientific as expected in a murder mystery. The killer doesn’t come across as smart and doesn’t bother about the clues left in the process at each murder site and the events leading to it. Some of the clues are too easy for the cops to not miss them.

What the author succeeds in is to maintain the suspense almost till the end and explains well the killers motives and behavioral traits that led to the crimes. The writer also touches on some sensitive aspects of human behavior and societal reaction. A more tighter storyline could have worked better but nevertheless a decent murder mystery.

CHARACTERS & WRITING:
This is the second book in Agni Mitra series. All the characters are well crafted. I did feel there are a lot of characters for a book that’s just 238 pages long, but that has worked in favour because that just makes it even more difficult to guess the murderer. The writing is simple and easy to comprehend. The book deals with an important issue in our society, and to be honest I had no clue about it till I read the end. Nowadays there are only few books where one doesn’t see the end coming and, this is definitely one of them.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. I wish there were more Indian fictions dealing with issues addressed in this book. If you’re looking for a simple, easy and quick thriller, I highly recommend this. This is a definite page turner.1 Vidhya Thakkar936 137

First of all, I loved the cover of the book, it's so attractive and signals a mystery. The title of the book is also impressive. The colours of Passion, the title itself tells so much. The Passion that ACP Agni Mitra had in solving the case. The way he investigated and joined each and every piece of puzzle exceptionally. The story starts with Murder of popular actor Hiya sen. The story holds interest from the start and throughout. The end was totally a mystery. I finished this book in one go because of curiosity to know what will happen next. The Suspense is not disclosed till the very end. There's a lot of suspense in every chapter and is linked with one another. The character of ACP Agni Mitra is something amazing, just one of the best personality. The way of his investigation was amazing.
The plot is built very well with love, mystery, romance, friendship, suspense and much more. The characters built up by the author are well impressive. Although Agni's past with Rituja was breaking the link to the story as it gets a bit confusing and breaks a flow. Simple language makes this read more interesting. It's one of the best read in crime fiction. The pace was also built very well, so was the narration. Hold on language, the professionalism that characters showed, writing style, building up the mystery, characters putting a piece of every puzzle together very well. A well-written story it is.
I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend everyone who loves crime fiction. It's an interesting read.

Review-
Done with reading this amazing crime scene based book "Colours of Passion" by Sourabh Mukherjee.
This is the third continuous week I am reading a book with tmits theme based on rape. Read 5complete books all giving one small message. Girl is not a toy. Why don't men understand that building some abs does not make them men. This book made me feel bad before reading it. I read it's blurb mentioning the word rape. I understood one thing that India is one of the worst country in the matter of humanity and human rights. Coming to the book. Such wonderful work by Authors is rarely seen nowadays. Author being a man expressed every part of girl's life beautifully. The plot was indeed good and the narration didn't lack attraction. A good book. I d the part when ACP Agni Mitra starts the investigation and every part of the book and the twists are so well versed. Few moments I felt a bit bored reading the book but when the suspense started exposing itself part by part the book grew more interesting.
A worth reading crime tale. Would love to read other previous books from the Authors as well.
