Wow this debut was incredibly gripping and laid the groundwork for what promises to be a dark and thrilling series! This story and its characters captivated me from page one!

Warning: this series handles real and dark subject matter. Read the trigger warnings.

Toni and Lizzie run an upscale escort agency. At a party with elites, they find Catherine, unconscious and unwell. They rescue her and find out she is trafficked and addicted to drugs. She makes a full recovery and a sisterhood is formed. But when Lizzie is murdered and Agent Aiden Flint is assigned to the case, Catherine and Aiden’s chemistry is undeniable. This story and the way it’s told was enthralling and captivating!

Series Synopsis: When the body of a female homicide victim, Elizabeth York, is found in MacArthur Park, LAPD Lieutenant Aiden Flint begins his investigation at her last known address: 2045 Clementine Lane. But instead of the next of kin he’s expecting to find there, he encounters four high-end escorts: Catherine, Lyla, Juliette, and Antoinette. Each of the girls has a file on police record—assault, solicitation, prostitution, possession, possession with intent to distribute—and the deeper he digs, the less sure he is about anything.

One story, eight perspectives, one killer? 2045 Clementine Lane “gives whole new meaning to the girl next door…”

The 2045 Clementine Lane series is best tackled in the following order:
2045 Clementine Lane: Catherine
2045 Clementine Lane: Lyla
2045 Clementine Lane: Juliette
2045 Clementine Lane: Antoinette3 s Cassey Barnes 29 4

This book pulled me in from the first chapter and has me so invested in the lives of the girls who live on 2045 Clementine Lane. Sloane did an amazing job of dealing some very dark themes. While some parts were heavy, she sprinkled in humor, romance, and the perfect amount of spice! I fell in love with Catherine and her strength, loyalty to her “sisters”, and journey of discovering she is more than her past mistakes.

“The true test isn’t pretending the scars aren’t there. It’s moving on with your life knowing they’re there but contribute nothing to who you can still become.”

I’m so excited to read Lyla’s story next week! 2 s Seema35

What to Expect:

- Murder Investigation
- Police officer X escort
- Age gap
- Multiple POVs
- Found family
- 2008 Los Angeles

2045 Clementine Lane is highly enthralling! It has a fast-paced story and a forbidden romance.

2045 Clementine Lane follows the aftermath of Elizabeth York's murder. A high-end escort. It focuses on four escorts, Catherine, Lyla, Juliette, and Antoinette, Elizabeth's colleagues/friends/roommates.

This book mainly follows Catherine's and Aiden's POVs. Their story is raw and beautiful. They are two scarred souls who find comfort in each other, and I felt so touched reading about them. Catherine is a survivor, a fighter, and fiercely loyal to her friends at 2045 Clementine Lane. Aiden is a LAPD lieutenant who is kind and a teddy bear at heart.

I loved the plot twists! I thought this book would revolve around Elizabeth and her murder, but as I kept reading, the revelations just kept coming. It felt peeling the layers off the onion. It was a wonderful read!

2045 Clementine Lane
Book 1, Catherine
We first meet the gorgeous women of 2045 Clementine Lane over a dead body. As the murder
mystery unfolds, we are introduced to the professional escorts who live, work, laugh, and cry
together – a tight-knit, ride or die group, coming together to grieve the loss of their colleague while
continuing to provide top notch service as sultry, sexy, expensive ladies who offer themselves to
those who can afford it in the glittery – and sometimes sleazy - back drop of L.A.
Catherine is a woman easy to love, beautiful, sensual, and fiercely loyal to the clan at Clementine
Lane. Up until she meets Aiden, she truly believes nothing could come between her and her
Clementine posse. Aiden is a hard L.A. cop married to his job until he sees Catherine for the first time
and loses all perspective. It’s a dangerous formula: an escort who knows how to please her client,
and a man who should know better than to get involved with a suspect in a murder investigation.
All logic disappears with the first touch as Catherine and Aiden begin a fiery, orgasmic sex affair
where the boundaries of police officer and beautiful escort become blurry to the point of no return.
Sloane Fletcher does not disappoint in Catherine. A steamy, rapid page turner that will leave you
breathing heavily. An author who knows precisely where she wants to lead her reader and who does
it with not-so-subtle sex scenes, and downright deeply twisted plots and turns.1 PhilippaAuthor 3 books30

2045: Clementine Lane: Gathering is the first novel in this series by one of my favourite author friends, Sloane Fletcher. Some of you will already know her under her other name from previous works, Tess Shepherd, but Sloane is who we are reading here and she's hit the ground running in her first set of novels bearing four very attractive different pairs of eye-catching footwear.

For those of you who love to know this kind of thing, there are trigger warnings associated with each book and the series as a whole. Personally? I see those triggers as invitations to read a book but I'm going to let you all know what they are now here for Catherine . Those trigger warnings are:

- Violence
- Murder/death
- Human Trafficking
- Escorting
- Dark pasts

These are to name a few. As said by Sloane herself in the opening pages of this book, if you can think of a trigger warning, this book probably has it. This is not meant to offend or to shock, but to raise awareness and tell a story. Where certain elements have real-world applications and consequences, Sloane pays usage to these triggers to highlight and elevate the story that is being told. Please read the note at the end of the book for any helpful information about these topics.

Now that the heavy is out of the way, let me talk about the book and get to the really good stuff.

Catherine is the first of these books which all inter-weave within one another. It's best to read in release order of Catherine, Lyla, Juliette & Antoinette for the full effect and understanding of the complex, mysterious case that spans across all four books. If you read one out of order, you'll find out what is happening with the leading lady of that book before what has already happened. Or you'll find out something about the situation the girls find themselves in, out of sequence and potentially spoil things for yourself. Stick to the order and you'll be just fine.

Who are our main characters for this novel who will be kicking things off in spectacular style? Let's meet them, shall we?

LAPD Lieutenant Aiden Flint comes onto the scene--literally-- when the body of a female homicide victim, Elizabeth York, is found in MacArthur Park. He's tasked with finding out what happened to her and why. His first port of call? Elizabeth's last known address. 2045 Clementine lane. Expecting it to be Elizabeth's last-known address alone, imagine his surprise when he finds not one, but four high-end escorts there. Catherine Lyla, Juliette and Antoinette. Both professionally and personally, it is deeply-rooted within his character to not get involved with them. That resolve only lasts so long as not before time, he's personally involved with Catherine, the only girl of the four who doesn't have an accountable alibi for where she was the night that Elizabeth was murdered.

Already, there is plenty to be suspectful of. But will Aiden believe her, or side with suspicion?

Catherine herself is thrown into something she never knew she wanted or thought was possible, a relationship. One with Aiden Flint, a man who has quickly come to mean so much to her in such a short space of time while everything crumbles around her. Though it seems she is not meant to bask long in the glow of new, unexpected love. She has to choose and the choice is not an easy one to make. Between deciding on the woman who saved her life in the past and the man who she knows is everything she could see in a future is one of the toughest choices she'll ever have to make. It's head versus heart, and only one can win. The decision has to be quick, though. Because little to her knowledge, her past is quickly coming up behind her to haunt her, making her happy future ahead more uncertain than ever before.

Having read Sloane's other work before under her other name, I knew she could write the sad, the emotional and sometimes dark-themed stories to varying degrees, but this novel kicks things off with a whole new level of all of the former. If you've thought that you've read some of the darkest, brutal and gritty books, think again. I'm not talking mafia-level dark romance, I'm taking the other kind that has you in such a chokehold with its suspense, mystery and bloody nature. Normally, I'm not one to read those types of books if they're non-mafia related, but I love Sloane's writing and hers is by far some of the best I've had the pleasure of reading from a friend. She's beyond talented and everything that she is has been squeezed out and embedded within this book. For a first book in the series, the bar was set incredibly high. You'll find yourselves hard-pressed to give this anything less than the five stars it deserves.

What's perhaps most impressive about it, is that I was lucky to read this series and this book specifically, early. I'm talking August of last year (2023), and for me to be able to remember and recall everything I thought and felt while reading it all those months ago, now, that's the mark of someone who was meant to be an author. Catherine truly left it's mark on me and I'm going to call it now, this is probably the read that has cemented Sloane as my favourite author within this specific genre of writing.

Aiden and Catherine went through the wringer and they took us with them, and it's all down to the unique writing styles of the author who made them. Though the theme of this book is common to some extent, Sloane makes it her own. This is uniquely her, her work and her characters. A standout author with standout content.

At the end of the day, this is a book that is not only worth being on your devices but on your shelves as well. Not just because of the covers that are simple, yet effective, but because of what is masked underneath them that I implore everyone to take a chance on.

See you all in Lyla's review!2 s Natasa IG: itsallaboutbooksandmacarons 1,482 24

In this emotionally charged novel, the author delves into the harrowing world of human trafficking and its grim realities. The story skillfully navigates the darkness, portraying the characters' struggles in a poignant and heart-wrenching manner. Despite the heavy themes, the strength of the characters shines through, capturing the reader's empathy. As the main character's journey unfolds, a glimmer of hope emerges, culminating in a poignant ending where the power of love and freedom triumphs over despair. A compelling and thought-provoking read that leaves a lasting impact.

Thank you Sloan for this.1 Permanently_Booked987 58

"I see the devil hiding behind his smile."

A captivating mix of suspense, hot af steamy scenes and topics that encompass drug addiction, human trafficking, murder and abuse (many forms) to name a few.

I love how dark and gritty this novel gets. This world of escorts is crafted in a realistic atmosphere and ties in a beautiful love story of an almost forbidden romance, the chains of addiction and the past that can so easily hold people captive. I equally adored the characters and the intimacies they share in the house they've made a home. Its the found girl family I think all women have dreamed of. The realness of their differences, how they fight for each other and the mistakes they make. The addition of multiple POVs was a great touch and not overdone.

Lets not forget the epic chemistry between Catherine and Aiden. A slow burning build between a cop and an escort with a fun touch of age gap. These two blended so well together. The strength, support and nonjudgmental elements really made them shine.

This novel has so much depth but also keeps you hooked waiting for what's next. Tied into the plot is a murder mystery and I have to hand it to the author for how crafty it was to leave the mystery spiraling into the next book. Each book is from the perspective of one of the Clementine ladies and each one drops clues to who the killer is. I love it!

At it's heart this novel shines a light on human trafficking. The statistics are staggering and Fletcher is right, a lot of us sit oblivious to the children and adults who've been victimized by this horrid underground system. I felt she portrayed this aspect with the recognition and tenderness deserved.

"How lucky we are, how spoilt." (Agreed)

I cannot wait to see how the next novels unravel. Huge thank you to the author for the opportunity to win a copy and share my thoughts. Highly recommend to all of my dark suspense romance readers! True rating 4.5/5.also-have-hardcopy giveaways-arcs1 Chelsea •chelseas.bookshelf2•498 7

What a great start to a series!! I love the premise of this series following the ladies of Clementine Lane while trying to solve a murder. Catherine and Aiden have immediate chemistry, and I loved watching Catherine slowly trust Aiden and form a connection. I enjoyed reading from Aiden’s pov as he went through the investigation. There are so many secrets that started to unravel the last part of the book that make you want to pick up the next book asap!

This is full of emotion, steam and some heavy topics. I recommend reading the triggers warnings before starting this one. 1 Jenny Hobson665 21

An enjoyable and gripping story. This was something completely different from this author and it was just as good as her previous works. I really enjoyed this romantic suspense story. Catherine and Aiden made a really good match. I'm looking forward to reading more about these girls and finding out what really happened.1 Kaitlynne51 1 follower

I received the 2045 Clementine Lane Series as a winner to the author's giveaway before the official release date. Thank you for this, Sloane!

What a great book! For Fletcher's debut novel, this is outstanding work. I enjoyed the characterization and the chemistry between both Catherine Beauchamp and Detective Aiden Flint. You could feel/sense their chemistry, and I also think Fletcher does an amazing job in revealing parts of the story when she feels it's done so correctly/timely and strategically.
The book certainly is a twist on murder mysteries- the romance aspect is what really got me. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series! The combination of romance/steam and mystery is original in itself. There are also very serious topics throughout the book, and Fletcher handled/approached these with great care.
Sloane Fletcher is a heck of a writer, so good!1 Elizabeth3

This book was so good. It starts in with the action right away and tells quite a story. I look forward to reading about the rest of the girls from Clementine Lane.1 Katie73 3

This is a little above my limit in the “smut” department, but this storyline is gripping me so I don’t care. I’ll be reading the rest of the series. I need to know who did it, and I’m so intrigued by the girls! 1 Alicia (theromanticbibliotheca)306 23

Addictive, I tell you. This book will keep you away from all responsibilities.

The 2045 Clementine Lane series features four high-end escorts in Los Angeles. Upon learning of their friend’s death, their pasts, secrets, and passions surface.

Lieutenant Aiden Flint heads the investigation, questioning the women, especially Catherine Beauchamp. The magnetic pull she has on Aiden is palpable through the pages. Their discourse, glances, and non-stop thoughts about each other draw them closer. As Aiden finds clues, he also grapples with the truth that Cat has no alibi for that night.

Aiden passes no judgment on Catherine for her line of work. Her past of addiction and trauma may also warrant caution, but Aiden sees her as the most beautiful, honest, and sweet woman ever. It’s no wonder he can’t stop thinking about her—and the feeling is mutual. Cat is honest with him, trusting Aiden completely. He’s protective, caring, and trustworthy. The way these two communicate is pretty hot, actually. (The hot “n” steamy scenes certainly deliver.)

Sloane fearlessly explores the grim realities of sex trafficking, drugs, and also mentions parental abuse, yet she handles these weighty topics with skill. Through multiple points of view, her debut novel artfully portrays the fundamental dilemma confronting Catherine and Aiden: they must choose between “one potential mistake or the certainty of a lifetime of regret”.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I've always enjoyed murder mystery novels, which is what drew me to b> 2045 Clementine Lane: Catherine . I've read a lot of murder mysteries over the years, but none of them compared to this one. the majority of readers who have read the book, you are left wondering who murdered Elizabeth York and why she was murdered. Given Elizabeth's history, I also wondered if it was murder or an accidental overdose. Just when you think you've figured out what happened to her, more clues arise, forcing you to reconsider your entire theory.

I d how this story was written from Catherine's and Lieutenant Flint's perspectives; it allows the reader to get to know both characters. Catherine's point of view was intense at times, particularly when discussing her experiences prior to moving in with Toni and the other girls. I felt myself being transformed into Catherine's mind as I read from her point of view, feeling everything that she was. You could sense Lieutenant Flint and Catherine's attraction to each other from the moment they met, even if they tried to deny it. Catherine, I know, tried because of her profession. Even I couldn't see it working. Yet, I was hoping that they would find a way to make it work.

I did think the ending was a little too long, as if it dragged on a little too long. I enjoyed most of the book because it was un any other book I had read. Each of the characters was distinctive in their own way. 2045 Clementine Lane: Catherine will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. I'm excited to see where the next book takes us.2023-favorites 2023- adult ...more1 Nicolette Sampson91 3

Um…pop some popcorn or grab your favorite snack/drink and enjoy meeting the ladies from 2045 Clementine Lane. Catherine had a dark and twisted past that she literally deals with every single day of her life. She’s truly a survivor who is finally learning how to live. Aiden is definitely her twin flame and so understanding when it comes to her. You could feel their streamy chemistry off the pages!!! I loved their emotional connection so much more. I can’t wait to read more about these ladies who all trust each other with their lives but yet each one has their own secrets. 1 Bharath728 545

I got into this with low expectations, largely looking for a change. It turned out to be a refreshing read.

Catherine Beauchamp, Antoinette Rupetta, Lyla Kaspar & Juliette Dorn are escorts who stay at 2045 Clementine Lane. They are informed by Detective Aiden Flint, and his colleagues Mani and Sanchez that their friend, partner, and housemate Elizabeth York has been found dead, shot. The cops make very slow progress in determining a motive for the murder and coming up with suspects. Aiden and Catherine find themselves drawn to each other, though technically, Catherine should be treated as a suspect herself.

This is a good book to relax with. The story is told mostly from the perspectives of Catherine and Aiden, though the other girls are solid supporting characters. I found the characters well developed and especially d Catherine’s character. The relationship between Aiden and Catherine takes its time to develop and the complexities involved are outlined well. I would have d the story to progress more than it did in this first book, even if this is intended as a series.

A real-page turner!

Sloane Fletcher is one of those authors that can grab your attention as soon as you read the first chapter. It’s really a good mystery & thriller new series! Well written with a touch of romance! Lots of twists and turns that keep you turning pages.

2045 Clementine Lane: Catherine tells the story of four high-end escorts: Catherine, Lyla, Juliette, and Antoinette who get caught in the murder of one of their friends that involves drugs, sex, and violent crime. LAPD Lieutenant Aiden Flint starts his investigation at her last known address: 2045 Clementine Lane, where all four women live. So, when Aiden interviews Catherine, who is without an alibi, sparks flare! But secrets from the past come back to haunt them. Who really killed their friend!

2045 Clementine Lane: Catherine, was a gripping page-turner from start to finish. The characters are well-developed, and the plot was filled with unexpected twists. If you're looking for a captivating read that will keep you hooked until the very end, I highly recommend giving this book a try!1 Samantha40

This book wasn’t for me. I get tired of reading books that have the story overshadowed with the F-bomb. It’s overly used and detracts from the plot. I really wish authors would trust their writing strengths instead of using curse words a crutch. Susan356 33

Entertaining, satisfying, and fun. Definitely not a typical romance book--while it's easy to see the outline of the "happy ever after" (in a good way), the mystery aspect of the story adds a deeper level. Fletcher's characters are able and easy to root for, too. Would recommend! 1 Lexie149 6 Read

This book turned out to be a real page turner for me which was a nice surprise because in the beginning I felt it was a slow read.

I d the story and it was interesting following the main characters pov but also a few other characters pov (although theirs aren't so long). This is a murder mystery that also includes love and friendship/sisterhood.

Now I am looking forward to read the other books in this series (3 more) since I wanna get to know the other girls in the sisterhood Catherine had because they seems interesting characters plus I wanna know the outcome.

A bold new series covering the lives of five women living at 2045 Clementine Lane, with one turning up dead.

Lieutenant Aiden Flint is in charge of the case. He wasn’t expecting to be enamored by one of the women.

Catherine has not had an easy life. Found by Lizzie and Toni one fateful night they took her in. Creating a sisterhood and family together, who just happen to be escorts.

This book was a journey, one that I didn’t want to end. So much so that I started book 2 immediately. The chemistry with Aiden and Catherine was so intense, and I was here for it! I was hooked from the start. I highly encourage you to read this series, and while not all books are out yet they are being published close together.
