Wait, lost my train of thought . . .

Oh, yeah: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK; MAY CAUSE HEAT STROKE.

This story sizzles, burns, crackles, and blisters in all its sweltering, torrid, ardent, lustful glory.

*walks off stage to claim purple prose award*

Matt and Toby, both 22, are firemen, best friends, and lovers. They work, play, and live together. They're both instantly attracted to Bryce (who's older, although it's unclear how old; I was thinking early-30s) when he joins their station.

Bryce, who transferred stations due to a tragedy he witnessed at his previous post, also works with Mason (an MC from the previous two books) at a bar where Matt and Toby can conveniently stalk him in the evenings.

Bryce does not want a relationship, much less a convoluted, complicated ménage à trois. But he can't resist serious, intense Matt and sweet, funny Toby.

Bryce knows the two men shouldn't be working together or with him, but Matt resists Bryce's attempts to talk them into coming clean with the captain.

Burning Up contains plentiful, ridiculously HAWT man-on-man-on-man action with light bondage, spanking, cock rings, butt plugs, and MORE.

Because we only get Bryce's POV, we never get inside Toby and Matt's relationship to see what their motivation, besides the obviously sexual one, is for wanting a third in their relationship.

Bryce's internal monologue (I want them! No, it's all too much. But they're hot, and I want to fuck them hard NOW! No, bitch, no, no, we work together, not cool. UGH, but what does my HEART say?) drove me up the fucking wall.

I wanted some real-word problems vs. toppy, bossy, dominant (oooh yeah!) Bryce whining a teenage girl from Sweet Valley High.

This book CAN be read as a standalone. I have not read the first two books and had no trouble following the story, even though there are several scenes featuring the three MCs from books 1 and 2, Jack, Grey, and Mason, who are in a ménage à trois of their own and quite vested in offering Bryce relationship advice, whether he wants it or not.

I definitely wanted more character development for all three men and more in the way of plot; there were quite a few typos in my ARC that will hopefully be cleaned up by pub date.

Despite this, and even with the relationship angst, Bryce's waffling, and a dramatic rescue at the end, this is an easy, not to mention SEXY and FUN, read featuring three buff, horny firemen, a cool dog, and real firefighting action.

Wow, this was practically the polar opposite of the first book in the series. While that book was all about the emotion and sexual awareness of the three men, this book was all about Bryce, the third man of an already established relationship of two, trying to talk himself out of the hookup. And, man, did that get old! I stopped at 50% and Bryce was still scoping out other men while at a bar with Toby and Matt. Just no emotion. I only read the one sex scene, which I thought had potential since it seemed some good D/s action would probably be coming down the line, but I just can't continue. Bryce is too much of a dick and even if he did a complete 180 in the next few pages, the bad taste in my mouth would remain.

Im not going to rate since I didn't finish, but I'm also not going to recommend this one. For a hot, emotion filled ménage story, I suggest reading the first book in the series and skip this one.mm-bdsm mm-firefighters mm-healing-comfort ...more14 s The Bursting Bookshelf of a Wallflower809 147

2.5 stars rounded up to 3

I really d the first two parts of the series focussing on Jack, Gray and Mason. I was already a little wary when I heared that this part of the series would be focussing on Bryce - a firefighter who is new in town and also working as a bartender part-time. In order to overcome difficult memories, Bryce decided to leave Atlanta behind and to start over in another town and at another station.

Two young firefighters - Toby and Matt - are quickly raising his interest, but he isn't willing to give in to temptation. They are way younger than himself and they are working in the same unit. And just Mason used to be, Bryce doesn't want to intrude in the young men's relationship.

However, after a difficult operation at work, Bryce is overcome by old memories and suddenly Toby and Matty are there for him. They listen to his worries and are there for him when he is feeling lost. This night spent together risks to break Bryce's resolution.

While I was immediately pulled in by the dynamics between Mason, Gray and Jack, I somehow wasn't able to connect with Bryce, Toby and Matt. I guess that the story was lacking in background information about the characters and a lot of problems of the first two books were reconsidered in this relationship. It felt kind a recycling of ideas.

Compared to the first two parts of the series, the sex was still hot, but didn't have the same intensity than the very hot and kinky interaction between Mason, Gray and Jack. I have to admit that some of the sex scenes were a bit boring - the last one at the end of the book was making up for it a bit.

The story was severely lacking in plot! It was all about Bryce's insecrities, indecision and wailing - it was seriously annoying to follow his inner monologue from time to time!

All points considered, I can't rate this book with more than three very generous stars. It was an okay and entertaining read, but nothing more! 2015 m-m m-m-3-stars ...more13 s Debra2,125 256

3.5 stars

This easily works as a standalone, although there are appearances from Mason, Gray and Jack of the first 2 stories.

While the bedroom action was hot and the story was entertaining, I didn't feel as much of a connection with Bryce, Matt and Toby as I did with the men in the prior books. I felt I didn't get to know them enough outside of the attraction and the shared job. I also found Bryce's internal monologue to be a bit much (but this is often a peeve of mine) and the fact that he thinks he's ancient when he's in his early 30's.

For me, the bar may have been set a bit high by the first two books, but the story definitely was hot with some fun moments and it was nice to catch up with Mason, Gray and Jack.age-gap firemen-emt m-m ...more4 s Jewel1,853 272

This one was ok, but I enjoyed the first two books in this series more. Bryce's inner dialog got in the way of the story flow a bit too much, in my opinion. Beyond that, I enjoyed the sex scenes, but would have loved to have more actual character development. This story felt a touch rushed.law-enforcement-firefighters-emt mmm three-stars ...more4 s Caroline Brand1,748 69

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

Burning up is book three in the Fitting In series and sees the introduction of three new men. Bryce, Toby and Matt all work out of the same firehouse and whilst Toby and Matt are already in a relationship they are clearly sending out signals to Bryce showing their interest in getting together with him.

They are an interesting mix of characters; Bryce is much older than Matt and Toby and isn’t sure whether it is attraction or flattery that he feels at first.

Bryce left his last firehouse when running from memories of a particularly bad fire that saw a mother and her children die. He has closed himself off emotionally not only from looking for a partner but also from friends. He has made friends with Mason who we all know from the first two books as he works with him at a bar part time. He can’t help marvel at the way Mason’s relationship works with his two boyfriends but isn’t convinced it would work out the same way for him.

Matt and Toby have been together for years. They are not out at work and have no plans of changing that anytime soon as that would leave them unable to work the same shifts together.

It’s clear early on that Toby is submissive but Matt is much more difficult to work out. He is much less forward in letting Bryce know his needs but when he feels able he is much more responsive. The more I got to know Matt the more he became my favourite out of the three.

Whilst Matt and Toby are certain they want Bryce to join them they are terrified of coming out at work and the implied changes that brings. Bryce has his own fears and his biggest is damaging the relationship the two other men have. It takes the thought of losing one of the men through an accident at work to make them all see more clearly and finally admit how they truly feel.

I enjoyed learning about this new trio and it was also good to catch up with Mason, Gray and Jack who are also moving on in their relationship.2015 4-star-read m-m ...more3 s Denise H.3,060 247

We met Bryce the firefighter, now we meet Matt and Toby. Touching and heartwarming story. Terrifically hot and super emotions bring this story to life !! I was so riveted, I couldn't put it down.

Deep thought filled characters, interesting story, and super hot M/M/M sex scenes are all here to revel in. Wow ! It is a truly beautiful romance and study of what each one needs to complete their triad.
They deal with emotions, family, work, and their new love. (Light BDSM) This feeling romance and suspenseful tale will definitely hold your attention. Moving along nicely in their relationship, this has a wonderfully full story line.

This author, and this series are excellent. Highly recommended.
Well written, well done in every way.
I loved this one !! E N J O Y !!!

Not much to say about this one. I just couldn't feel the connection between them. The sex was hot, sure, but it felt rushed and sometimes came out of nowhere. Bryce's inner battle was a bit tiring. Then he would give in and then he would feel guilty again.

The second half of the book was a little more engaging.Generally, I d the first two books of the series way more.

Of course, I'm not sorry I read it because

Ideally I'd to rate this 3.5, but since half stars aren't allowed and I loved getting to visit with Mason, Jack and Gray I had to round up to 4. 2015-read lendable lendable-m-m ...more3 s Tina446 7

I couldn't really get into this story.

I found Bryce inner battle (if he should be with Matt and Toby or not) annoying as HELL!!...OMG, Make up your goddamn mind....!

Matt & Tobey was so damn sweet, and if it was not from them it had been a DNF!

Hmn, okay. Not as good as the first. The connection wasn't all the way there for me. And, I couldn't get over Bryce's description of himself as some "older" guy. It may have played better if he were an older man. 32 is not old. Now I sound old! Whatever! You know what I mean.just-okay-2-3-stars mmm2 s Ramona639

Paar will heißen Single, heißer Single hat Angst
