A complication neither of them expected.

From the Author

Brando Santini is what you would call a nerd. Well, as nerdy as you can get in the Santini family. A math whiz, he is happy to be returning to college even if it is to teach ROTC. He is at an important turning point in his life, so it is interesting that he is back at the college he went to and tangled up with his college crush. A crush who has a big exciting family that is much like the Santini family.

I can't wait for everyone to meet Brando and Kaitlin!

This one made me smile. I loved how these 2 literally bumped into each other after so many years and how Brando wasn't going to let this opportunity go. The instant connection lead to some sizzling sex for them and more. It was fun to see each of them try hard not to get their hopes up, even as it was what the wanted. I especially loved how both families came into play. It seems the Fitzpatrick's are just as formidable as the Santini's.2015 e-book military ...more3 s Myst613 15

Brando finally, , finally, gets his girl after having to walk away from her college. A chance encounter in NOLA has him taking his shot. His life is also taking him right to her front door, and her house, literally

She has a bevy of brothers, but being a Santini, he knows how to deal with that. Watching Brando twist and fall was extremely entertaining, seeing him with Kaitlyn was unbelievably sweet, and these two together are perfectly explosive

4.5 Star Review One Night with a Santini (The Santinis #8) by Melissa Schroeder

One Night with a Santini, is book 8 in The Santini series and is the story of Brando Santini and Kaitlin Fitzpatrick. A chance encounter whilst both are in New Orleans brings these two college friends together again. Ten years has passed and what neither of them knows is that they each were attracted to the other and in fact still are.

As with all the other books in the series, I couldn’t put this one down and read it in a day. I have to say, if I weren’t already married I would marry a Santini in a heartbeat. I love their loyalty, commitment, integrity, sexiness - everything about them.

Brando has always compared the ladies he dated to Kaitlin even though when he knew her she was engaged to marry another. He hasn’t kept up with her since he didn’t want to know about her marriage and life. Unbelievably, he finds out that she didn’t marry her fiancé and is in fact free. A dinner invitation is accepted, followed by a night of passion. Brando knows that Kaitlin is ‘the one” but he knows if he tells her this, she will run. She has been hurt by previous relationships and as far as she is concerned, their night of passion is a one night stand.

Brando returns to the area and accepts Kaitlin’s offer to stay whilst house hunting. Of course her brother’s hit the roof. Complications soon arise which changes the course of Brando and Kaitlin’s lives. I love how protective they are initially and have to say that when Brando has a bit too much to drink whilst talking to 3 of her brothers it made me laugh. Soldier boy vs I am a marine!

As with the other books in the series, there is humour throughout. I have to say I love that these very strong men, seem to quake when the Santini women come into play. Be it Brando’s mother or his Aunt Joey, the matriarch of the Santini family. Add in Kaitlin’s extremely over protective brothers and there is sure to be mayhem. I love how Melissa Schroeder weaves such a strong, yet sexy story with the love, loyalty and commitment of family.

Sadly the book had to end. I only wish that they were longer. I love this series and cannot wait for the next instalment.

Brando and Kaitlin are another amazing Santini union

Traveling to NOLA to hang out with his buddies, Brando Santini never expected to run into an old friend. It changed things for him and brought back a lot of feelings from college.

Kaitlin Fitzpatrick was on her final day of a conference when she bumped into Brando and all the old feelings of their college friendship and the feelings that she had for him came back to her in an instant.

Brando wanted nothing more than to catch up with Kaitlin and find out what he was missing. The frienship that they had all those years ago came back to them. And Brando decided now is the time to admit to Kaitlin what he had kept inside all those years ago. The admission shocked both Brando and Kaitlin but it was something that allowed them to moved forward, especially with Brando moving to the same city as Kaitlin.

When Brando moves back to College Park, life as Kaitlin knows it, gets very complicated. Her overprotected brothers are allways around and they all have their ways of running Kaitlin's life. This makes life hard for Brando who is trying to move forward.

Brando has the determination of a Santini and Kaitlin is the woman he desires, but between her past and her brothers, Brando has his work cut out for him. When they are faced with a "surprise" to their relationship, Kaitlin is more afraid than ever to move forward. And Brando must fight for what he wants.

Brando and Kaitlin were an adorable couple. Finding each other after all the years apart was a situation of chance and it was also a situation as a Santini, true in the previous books, a Santini didn't let their chance pass them by.

The old characters carried the story along, while the new characters added a lot of fun to the story. It definitely was one of my favorites. Melissa Schroeder continues to make the Santinis a family that everyone loves and wants to know more about. And it is always fun to have Joey & Papa give their wisdom. 1 The Smutty Kitty326 45

The Santinis are back!! I am loving this family and it seems they just keep growing so hopefully that will mean more and more books in this series. I love all the classic tropes and this book includes the baby after one night trope. There was certainly more than one time for these two before the baby happened but it was after just one night so it counts. ;) Brando is just the other Santini men and knew the moment he met Kaitlin years ago that he wanted her. But back then she was taken and Brando is nothing if not a respectable man and kept it at friend level back then. Now that she's no longer taken he decided it was time to make her his. It takes her a little while to come around to his way of thinking and he is a Santini so he has to make a few mistakes along the way-sometimes it takes a trip to the hospital to wake up and see the error of his way. No epilogue at the end of this one but I am betting we get more baby news in the next book. I am expecting Wendy's book to be next and I'm gonna be super disappointed if it isn't. 1 Bobbie1,071 10

Another fun Santini book!! This is Brando's story and even if you've never read about any of the Santini's, the great thing about these books is that although they all have the "Santini " thread going through them, they are standalones. Brando is a marine who is going to be teaching ROTC at the University of Maryland. While on a "boys weekend" in New Orleans, he literally runs into Kaitlin, a friend from his college years at the University of Maryland, who also is now living in College Park.

This book is their romance and how it comes about. What I think is most fun about this particular book is that not only do we have the Santini's, but Kaitlin comes from a family with several older brothers, and I hope they get their stories soon.

I have enjoyed Melissa's writing for some years now, and the Santini's have become an integral part of why I so enjoy her books. Thanks for letting me read and review this!1 Eniko529 14

Another great read from Melissa Schroeder in the Santini saga. Brando is no different from the rest of the men of the family. He didn't believe in the "curse" of the Santini men falling and staying in love at first sight but he fell anyway. After a chance meeting with the one woman he can't forget, he gets a second chance to sweep Kaitlin off her feet. As with every couple in the series, the chemistry is off the charts. There is love, romance, humour and some tense moments. Love the feeling of such a close knit family who will look out for and defend each other. It makes me laugh that these strapping warriors are so afraid of their women, especially the two Santini matriarchs. It adds to the humour of the books.1 Gina278 22

awwwwww it's adorable! Ya gotta love a Santini!! I d this story because it was sweet and hot and Kaitlin is not a shrinking violet and can totally stand up to Brando and put him in his place. I laughed so hard when Joey and Papa Santini showed up, Papa was totally hysterical with his "hints" to Brando. 1 Jarylynn Schlegel348

I was given this book for a honest review.....the story is great. Brando and Kaitlin were meant to be and he just needed to prove it.... The story is enticing and a great addition to the Santini line. A very easy read and hard to put down, just as any of the Santini's books I have read. I would say more but do not want to spoil anything for anyone.1 Victoria1,188 95

3.25 RATING- A quick, cheesy read. Instant love, accidental pregnancy, hero that falls fast. The author has a habit of not using contractions which is just a person pet peeve of mine but other than that, an enjoyable read. 2 s Katya2007299

Brando Santini knew Kaitlin was the one for him in college, but she was engaged. When he literally runs into her again and finds she’s still single, he’s not going to lose a 2nd chance to make her his. Theirs is a delightfully charming love story with a happy surprise, a moment or two of drama, a bit of brotherly interference, and, of course, just the right amount of steamy passion. This is a fast-paced tale that’s easy to read but hard to put down. It’s a lovely addition to the Santinis’ amazing series. Toi3,777

One Night With A Santini
By Melissa Schroeder
Brando Santini was nerdy in college. He wanted to be a teacher but joined the Marines instead. This trip to New Orleans was going to be time spent with his friends before heading east to take a job teaching ROTC at the University of Maryland. Not looking where he was going, he bangs into someone. Looking up to apologize, he realizes that he knows the person, Kaitlin Fitzpatrick.
Brando has had a crush on Kaitlin Fitzpatrick since college. Unfortunately, Kaitlin was engaged, so it was hands off. During a trip To New Orleans, Brando runs into Kaitlin who is attending a speech therapist conference. They get together for drinks. During the conversation over drinks, Brando finds out that Kaitlin never married. One thing leads to another after a few drinks and they end up in bed. Kaitlin thinks it is a one night stand, but Brando has other ideas. Kaitlin is the one for him. Once a Santini finds "the one", nothing will stop them from going after what they want.
Kaitlin realizes that she also has feelings for Brando. During their conversations, she asks Brando where he is going to be living in Maryland. He tells her that he doesn't have a place yet. Kaitlin offers him a place to stay, her place. nerves set in as Kaitlin awaits Brando's arrival. She is feeling sick, thinking she has probably caught what is going around. After a while, she realizes that she is not sick, but pregnant with Brando's baby. When Brando finds out, he tells Kaitlin that they are getting married, he doesn't ask her. Needless to say, this leads to many arguments.
Once again, Melissa Schroeder has out done herself with the Santini saga. I love this series. Both Kaitlin and Brando come from large, nosey and interfering families. The secondary characters along with the dialog between these characters provide the reader with some comedic relief as Kaitlin and Brando deal with the dynamics of living in large protective families. This is a story about love, loyalty, family and a sense of duty while finding your happily ever after. I highly recommend this story and look forward to the next Santini finding "the one"

I truly adore the Santini series. There is nothing the moment when a Santini man stumbles over his self when he realizes she’s the one. Then watching (reading) what these tough, sexy military men will do to prove their love.

Brando and Kaitlin have harbored secret crushes on one another for years. A chance meeting, an amazing night of passion, a stubborn woman and the Santini curse. Leaving more than longing and memories. Giving this reader just what I love about a Santini book.

Brando and Kaitlin’s chemistry sets this novella on fire. Melissa has this amazing way of writing couples that are perfect for each other. Giving each distinctive personalities and charisma, that you can’t help but to . Humor, meddling families, insatiable passion and romance make you fly through the pages. The Santini Family will suck you into their world!
Readers note: I got a very strong feeling while reading One Night With A Santini that Mel is hinting around at some thing. Maybe spin off to another series. Maybe a prelude to something. I could be wrong and just imagining it. However from what I read it feels something good is coming.

This is one hot, quick love story that I could not put down! Brando Santini is visiting New Orleans with some friends when he literally runs into his college crush Kaitlin Fitzpatrick, who is there on business. In college Brando could not act on those feelings because Kaitlin was engaged. Now learning she never married and is single he is not letting her get away this time. He quickly learns she is leaving in the morning and asks her to dinner. After dinner he decides she needs to know his feelings. In his eyes no one could ever compare to Kaitlin and a good night kiss leads to a night neither will forget. Learning that Brando is going to be moving in a few months to start a new job near Kaitlin she offers him a place to stay until he can get settled. Once there Brando learns he has a situation and it is not just her over-protective brothers.

This was my first book from Melissa Schroeder and know I can't wait to read more from her, especially The Santinis. This family is loyal, passionate, and very tight. I did not feel lost reading this not having read the others. It's one hot sexy read!

I love the friends to lovers trope, and One Night with a Santini didn't disappoint.

Brando Santini is in New Orleans for a weekend to celebrate before starting a new ROTC job and Kaitlin Fitzpatrick is there for a conference for work that has just ended. They literally run into each other and sparks fly. They were good friends in college but she was engaged to another. So once he finds out she is no longer engaged/married, he is on a mission to win the woman he has loved for so long.

Great story line, great characters, Ms Schroeder hit this one out of the park. Not only did we get to see old favorites Joey and Papa, we see new possible story lines with Carlos, Brando's brother, & Tia; plus there are 5 Fitzpatrick brothers. Aeden, Kaitlin's brother, and Wendy, Kaitlin's best friend, look promising as well.

I loved this book and I recommend it to everyone that enjoys a funny romance with a HEA. Thank you Ms. Schroeder for continuing to be a pusher for my Santini addiction. Please keep them coming. JigsawGirl3,370

received an ARC of One Night with a Santini in an exchange for an honest review. All this really means is that I got to read it before the copy that I preordered arrived a few minutes ago.

This was a really quick, fun read. I love reading about the Santini family, and this was no exception. Brando and Kaitlin had really good chemistry. They d each other, had a playful relationship, and a good dose of steamy encounters.

My favorite scene in the book was where Brando was in the kitchen of Declan's restaurant with Declan and two of Kaitlin's other brothers. Laugh Out loud funny. How many times can you say "I'm a Marine". It would be great to have a series spin off with Kaitlin's brothers.

It was the perfect piece of pie, the perfect drink, that delectable piece of fudge. You know what I mean, just the right proportion of ingredients that make something really satisfying.

For anyone needing to have a con to go along with the pro, here you go:

The only thing wrong with this book was that it ended too quickly. But, maybe I just wasn't ready for it to end. Meg Weglarz130 1 follower

In this latest novella in Melissa Schroeder’s long running and well loved Santini series, we have Brando Santini literally running into Kaitlin Fitzpatrick, an old college friend from Maryland. Once a Terp, Always a Terp isn’t just for sports, but the game played by the Santinis better than anyone else … patient and lasting love. I d this book very much and recommend it.

I think Brando might well be my favorite Santini since Papa met Joey; there’s a lot of Uncle Stewart’s patience and fortitude in this Marine. The solid, dependable love that’s patient and determined is irresistible and the Santinis have that in abundance. I d Kaitlin very much and her brothers are a hoot, I hope to see more of the Fitzpatrick boys in future books. Bottom line? Melissa Schroeder delivers another solid entry in this series - even if the title is misleading … no one wants to settle for just one night with a Santini!

This is book 8 in the Santini series. They are standalone but you get more out of them if you read them in order...
Ok this is Brando and Kaitlin's story and in true Santini fashion it did not disappoint! This story had just the right dose of sexy, conflict and sweetness. I enjoyed every bit! I loved a lot of the secondary characters and hopefully we will get their stories down the road. If you are looking for a story that's sweet with the perfect splash of spicy then this is for you. I see where other have commented about the length, it's under 200 pages so it is a quick read but other than not wanting another Santini book to end it didn't take away from the story at all. Love these books!

If only the Santinis were real we'd all fall for that lustful charm. Brando and Kaitlyn were friends in college, study partners. A chance meeting in New Orleans has them acting out what they dreamed of in college. We all know once a Santini falls that's it, he's done. He found her. I can't help but love these stories of loyalty, family, and commitment. The normalcy of these men and women is fun to read and makes me feel I want to meet them at Declan' s bar for drinks. With Kaitlyn' s family we have the introduction of the Fitzpatrick's, possibly the Irish version of our lovable Santini brood. Very excited foe more Santinis and the new Fitzpatrick series. My copy was given for an honest review.hot-romance Stacey417 4

I d the concept of the story, but it seemed too short, which made it feel underdeveloped in some areas. For example, one minute Kaitlin's brothers are overprotective and seemed ready to take on Brando, and the next minute they're suddenly accepting of him and inviting him to play rugby with them. It felt something was missing between the two events as the turn around was too quick.

There were a couple of grammatical errors, and at some spots the writing seemed choppy. It wasn't enough to take away from the enjoyment of the story.

Overall it was a good story, I just wish it had been a little longer to develop the characters and situations more than they were.

I loved it and was surprised by the ending.Madison is Dante's twin sister Elena's best friend from the Academy where she and Dante were always one upping each other. When they meet again Madison is suffering PTSD and feels she is damaged but Dante has always seen something special in her.She witnesses a murder and runs to Dante however the police can find nothing & think due to her PTSD she made it up.What follows is a Santini falling for the Santini curse and a surprise murderer I never saw coming.I was hooked from the beginning and shocked at the end.You can never go wrong with a Santini book

Twists, turns and lots of fun. Ms. Schroeder manages to give each Santini a unique and yet familiar story. Brando & Kaitlin are no different.
Brando Santini is the other Santini men in that when he meets “the one” he knows it and can never go back. Unfortunately his one and only is engaged and he doesn’t poach. So he leaves his love in college untouched and unapproached other than as a friend and joins the Marines.
Now several years later he literally bumps into her in New Orleans and she isn’t wearing a ring. Life has handed him a second chance and he is going to make the most of it. All he has to do is convince Kaitlin of the Santini curse and to give him a chance.

Another Hit, I have no Idea how Ms. Schroder always writes the best books. This story, of Brando and Katlien is amazing. They had feelings for one and another back when they were in college, now years later they give into those feelings after a chance run in. We all know what happens when a Santini loves someone, well had that he is a Marine to the list that just makes it hotter. I wish I could give it more then five-stars.

I loved this book, and all her books. As a wife of a US Marine veteran I highly recommend this book. Get it today.
