Agnes and George story

Agnes and George
This story was deep, emotional, suspenseful, with twists and turns, and secrets, untruths and misunderstandings. That keeps you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. All this within a love story. A must read.1 Dani97

Love a story where the H&H start off at odds but are deeply drawn to each other. Its always so fun.

It's time for Lady Agnes to help her sister with her season and debut into society. Besides finding her the perfect match this season, her sole duty is to protect her from the rogues - she never thought she herself would need protecting as she is a level headed spinster. Until she meets George.

George of course is a rake, one who has no interest in helping his godmother with her latest project - Rose.
He never thought this season would be the season where he would want to change his ways or having to prove that he has.

As he finds himself agreeing to help, he never expected to be irritated yet drawn to Roses intriguing sister, Lady Agnes. She is no other lady he has known.

Agnes and George are forced to interact with each other for Rose's sake but secretly they are both drawn to the other and before long they are developing feelings for each other.

I really d how the H & H start off with a lot of angst with the situation they are in. Neither want to deal with the other, she doesn't trust him and he is far more intrigued by her than he wants to be.

This interest in each other involves a lot of emotions which creates entertaining verbal sparring between the characters and you can't help but watch them fall for each other.

really great read. Good characters who have to over come their fears, learning to trust, and growing as individuals.

I received an ARC for a voluntary review. All opinions expressed are my own.

THEY BOTH WANT THE SAME THING - FOR DIFFERENT REASONS

LADY AGNES - Outspoken with a quick whit, grew up with her young sister Rose in a home with a lot of love, Agnes was 18 and ready to come out into society and looking forward to marrying and being in love as her parents were. That all changed when her father died it left her mother with a broken heart, shutting herself from society and her children with it. Agnes became the mother and cared for her sister, seeing the heartbreak her mother went through, she vowed never to marry for love.
LADY ROSE - Considered a beauty by her family was due to enter society it was up to Agnes to help her, and ensure her happiness and love she would do anything for Rose.

LADY FINCH - A reputation of helping young girls enter society, teaching them how to behave what to be careful of, who was a suitable husband who was a Rake.
Lady Finch invited the family to come stay with her to help them - she also invited her godson to help give a man's prospective on it.

GEORGE - DUKE OF CRAMPTON - The most dangerous rake there was he was never going to marry he loved his life and his reputation. Brilliant sense of humour kind, good looking in fact everything you could want in a Rake.

I LOVED THIS BRILLIANT STORYLINE THE INTERACTION BETWEEN GEORGE AND AGNES HYSTERICAL IN PARTS AND BOILING HOT IN OTHER'S.
Great read a page turner.
I RECEIVED AN ARC COPY.

This hilarious romp has strong and determines characters who clash from the outset. I d that George's good points were revealed one at a time and hidden from everyone by his behaviour. Agnes is a slightly brash and very strong-willed lady, but she has been dealt a cruel hand in life that no-one seems to even notice. Her mother is a selfish woman and even the matron tasked with introducing Rose into society seems to think Agnes is a lost cause, through no fault of her own.
This sadness and unfairness is accepted by everyone, even Rose herself, who doesn't seem to notice that her lovely childhood is at the expense of her sister's.
The banter between George and Agnes is delightful and their denial of attraction is easy to see. Nevertheless, it's not an easy road they travel.
That such young women existed in a society that should have been nicer, is appalling and speaks volumes on the true nature of the ton.
This was an ARC I voluntarily read and reviewed.regency Doreen Henderson266

A Good Story

I really enjoyed this story. It is well-written. Duke George is a rake but has a kind heart as well. Lady Agnes is a spinster who is not afraid to speak her mind. When she meets George at a ball, she is antagonistic to him and she is determined to stand her ground. George is used to shy debutantes and is intrigued when someone stands up to him. Lady Rose, Agnes' sister, is in her first season and Agnes is keen to help her to find a suitable match. She asks George to support her in this. The story follows the verbal battles between them before they realise their growing attraction for each other. Will Rose settle for a suitable gentleman? Will George be able to convince Agnes that his Rakish ways are in the past? Will Agnes be able to put her spinsterhood behind her? Read on and enjoy. Martha B.772 8

A Rogue Schooled by a Spinster

Can the rake change? Can a spinster trust the rake? The answer is yes, but not without quite a bit of angst and bickering.

I have read and enjoyed a number of Sally Vixen's books, but A Spinster to Tame the Duke (for me) fell a bit short.

Although well written, the wordiness interrupted the flow. Also, I just didn't the hero until the last few of chapters. I did the heroine, except when she was being too snarky. Having stated my negatives, I must say I loved the ending and the extended epilogue.

All in all this was an okay read, with a lot of focus on the hero wanting sex, and then the couple having sex. For me this was a 3.5 read rounded up to four stars.

Content 411: Although this book doesn't contain any offensive language, it does have a number of descriptive sex scenes.

Sisters, Lady Agnes and Lady Rose Weston go to London for Rose's debut. Anges, being the older sister, knows she must watch and protect Rose. Rose is being introduced into society by Lady Finch who has helped many young ladies as they learn the ways of the Ton. Anges knows she must be on the lookout for rakes and to protect Rose from them. She soon learns George, the Duke of Crampton is a known rake and is becoming part of Rose's debut due to the interest of his benefactor. George is drawn to Agnes for reasons he cannot understand. Is there a chance that Agnes might be the one who finds a husband? You will need the story to find that out and more. There are some "steamy" parts in this story. Lourdes Nunez451 1 follower

Absolutely awesome journey of adventure and love

I absolutely loved and enjoyed reading this amazing book. The characters are very interesting and entertaining especially Lady Agnus and Duke George. The story is extremely interesting with all the twists and turns throughout from beginning to the end. The extended epilogue gives it a beautiful happy ending and an unexpected closure to the Duke’s life struggles that is absolutely heartfelt. Absolutely amazing story. Definitely a must read and highly recommended. wanda garrison33
