satisfactory

Mostly the characters are likable and interesting. Mostly the plots are also interesting and a bit fun. However, two things bug me to the point of putting this series away forever. One, why does the author insist on carrying on the story that the three Poole women talk to their cats in “cat” language? Why would this be necessary when it’s obvious the cats understand what every human, including the television and radio, say. They can even read. So why oh why would the women communicate in meows? Makes no sense. Two, why do the police make arrests on the flimsiest of circumstantial evidence then use their own imagination to build up motives? Chase is a cop from NYC. Tex’s car was unlocked and a body dumped in it and even his wife and daughter immediately assumed he’d killed someone? Everybody knew Dan and yet immediately passed on the story that he was a serial killer? Please. Bend some rules of reality for fiction, but keep some semblance of rational thinking please. And yet I keep reading the next book. Am I hooked or hoping things improve? No matter what, anyone who can write even a halfway engaging book is amazing to me. Another great series!

I can't believe I've read 24 books of this series! Love love love the talking cats and all the characters. Plots were great...I stopped trying to figure out who the killer's were...it was always a surprise plot twist and ending. Can't wait to read the next book! Betty778 6

The Mysteries of Max

Another great book by Nic Saint in his Mysteries of Max series. I just finished book 24 and loved it. I plan to read the rest of his series also. Lisa Weston2
