Ten years have passed since Reiffen and his friends defeated Ossdonc and Usseis. The third Wizard, Fornoch, has not been seen since. Reiffen and Ferris have married; their daughter Hubley will soon turn ten. Avender is King Brizen's trusted captain, and Wellin is Brizen's Queen.
