Witch Esme’s secret vampirism is under control and she might even be finally going on a date with the handsome Chris Constantine. But then an influx of vampires to her magical tourist town causes havoc.

A magical dagger is stolen and a girl is murdered with it under the corrupt Chief of Police's very nose, possibly by his vampire friends. And now someone is trying to frame Esme for murder!

Worse, Esme discovers her own mysterious vampire sire has arrived in town. His mere presence is making Esme lose control of her free will and act dangerously vampirish at night. Can she and her merry band of magical friends – psychic cat included – find out who he is before he exposes her deep, dark secret to the people she cares about most? And all while finding a stolen dagger and solving the most confusing murder yet?
