The concept put forth here with a locket that can take you into a book of your choosing to spend time in that world for a little while is definitely intriguing for any reader. For that same locket to bring together two men who otherwise may not have met, and for them to wind up slowly falling for each other over some time was a nice touch.

Miles and Elias’s story is a slow burn and quite sweet, with just a touch of spice thrown in towards the end. The two of them fit very well together, and even though the story is not a long one, you still get the slow burn feel of the two of them getting to know each other before any big declarations are reached.

The writing style was not really my cup of tea, to me it felt a bit stilted, with a vibe I usually encounter more with historical settings rather than modern day, even if the characters are a bit more mature Miles and Elias were. This was still an enjoyable read, and a nice way to pass the time. Joyfully Jay8,083 470

I loved the idea of this story when I read the blurb, a little magical realism in an otherwise contemporary story. And though I did enjoy the MCs and their connection, I found some parts of this book a little lackluster. Peterson weaves an engaging tale, but it’s a little lacking in the details.

Overall, this was a nice story, even if I wanted more from certain parts of it. Peterson weaves a nice tale, with MCs that endear themselves quickly, and a couple of fun side characters. But I wished for an expansion of some details to really flesh the story out. If you’re looking for a quick, sweet read, then this might be one to check out.

Such a wonderfully sweet romance with just a touch of magic! I absolutely adore the premise of this book. A lost locket leading you to the one you're meant to love is so swoony. I really that RJ's characters are more mature. Miles and Elias are both settled and content in their lives so the magic of the locket bringing them together makes it all the more special. I loved that we got to know Miles and Eli on their own before getting to know them as a couple. It made me feel I was witnessing my own friends falling in love. There is so much I want to say but I don't want to spoil anything so I'm going to leave you with this. The Locket's Tale is a beautiful mix of contemporary romance and magic. Shorter story, but oh so sweet. The locket is caught in the middle of a family dispute and makes magic happen.
I love that the men involved aren't as young as most MCs these days. Elias seems older still, with a vocabulary and speech patterns from days past. Miles seems younger simply because his is more modern. I also love the friends they have backing them up.
The primary magic of the locket is an interesting one that I haven't run into before, simple enough and seemingly without risk. Both men use it for very quiet and low-key experiences.

I knew that was coming but the way they achieved it was so sweet
the locket knew or whoever created it did

This was a quick read filled with wonderful characters and the sweetest romance.
It has a touch of magic to it with a locket that transports the possessor into a book of their choosing allowing them to interact in the story

Sweet, magical love story!

A magical, sweet love story between 2 older men.
The story of Miles and Eli is a nice, warm blanket. When they meet, there is an instant connection but they take it slowly, going on dates, getting to know each other. What makes this a unique story is the locket. I won't drop any spoilers, but it's a nice touch. Nice secondary characters, a bit of plot drama (NOT between the MCs) and you have a delightful novella! The author takes the time to let us get to know them separately and then as acquaintances and friends so the romance develops logically and it's wonderful.
