3.5 stars - While I think the connection between the MCs could have been stronger, I really d the plot and world building in this one. It's cool to see how the other books tie into the investigation the FMC was trying to complete, and I am hoping the MMC's best friend is a future herosubscription16 s Callie454 16
These are always pretty fast and enjoyable, but this one fell a little flat for me.
Malaya and Kronos are matched up when shes falsely accused of murder and trying to uncover corruption in a judge. Kronos runs a sector of the prison shes sent to.
I did the prison organization and how they felt very unique.
It made sense that the plot revolves mostly around the judges corruption since Malayas life depends on it, but to me, it was rushed and the romance wasnt there.
They dont have many moments of getting to know one another and I feel were told more than shown how their feelings develop. We get some spice but to me it wouldve been better if we saw their emotional connection build and maybe if the events of the story took place over a longer period of time!12 s Izzah (Just another romance addict)474 20

Easily and enthrallingly.
Here we are, 10 books later and she can still surprise me when it comes to creating a culture, original background and engaging plot.
Luckily, she went less otaku on us this time (yes, I Married a Dryad was too much
