A classic page-turner, but set against the modern background of the “dark web” and the opportunities,  that presents to the darkest elements of society.

From the initial “cold opening” every turn of the page in this book has the quality of nudging you to just read one more by placing its protagonist in the impossible situation of discovering the bogey man of everyone’s nightmares is not living out there in the world but is actually lying down next to her each night in their family home. And to keep her daughter safe the only thing she can do is play along with his psychotic fantasies. While dealing with dark elements the book is not graphic or lurid in its descriptions of these.
Truly chilling but never not entertaining.2 s Steph Warren1,481 29

*I received a free DRC of this book, with thanks to the author. The decision to review and my opinions are my own.*

This domestic thriller goes from 0-100 fast, as main character Sharon finds out everything she thought she knew about her life with her husband Ben is a lie and then accidentally stumbles into violence and murder and has to use all of her knowledge and experience as a psychologist to save herself and the latest victim from a dangerous ‘murder club’.

The story is fast-paced and keeps you on edge throughout, desperately hoping Sharon can succeed against the odds. There are quite a few twists and surprises as the plot unfolds and plenty of action, so despite it being fairly clear where the story was heading in general, it still kept you hooked in to turning those pages to see how it got there.

I did find it a little difficult to connect to the characters initially, but once the plot got underway I was pulled along and couldn’t put it down until I found out how it all turned out.

This is a great read for thrill-seekers who want uncomplicated, pacey, murderous, explosive action and suspense.

My review:
This is a roller-coaster of a story. You find yourself following Sharon Freeman a psychologist, who by dumb luck, finds out her husband, who she loves and has been married to for years, has unbeknownst to her, been killing and torturing victims as the member of a secret group. As her husband finds out she knows, it's a race against time to save herself, her daughter, and the next possible victim, as she searches for the other members of the group that threaten their lives. As the reader you really can't guess what is going to happen next as she is drawn more and more into this murderous group, where it seems she has no way out, without getting blood on her own hands.

If you really a thriller, with a multitude of twists and turns, this book is for you. I enjoyed it immensely, and I think you will too. This is my first time reading a book by this author and really look forward to their future work.

Imagine waking up one morning with a husband and child you adore, great career, good friends and BOOM! In a minute , totally by accident, you find ryou've been living a lie. You're married to a monster who is capable of unspeakable things.
This is Sharon's reality after viewing a DVD of her husband and his buddies indulging their blood lust.
In order to save herself and her daughter, Sharon must play along with Ben. Living a lie and never knowing who or what to trust.
In Misery Rock we live the nightmare along with Sharon. This book is a well done creepy thriller that keeps you reading till the last page. Reagan Keeter is a master author of thrillers. The characters are well developed and the writing flows in a way to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a good physiological thriller.
Thank you Reagan Keeter for the advanced reader copy. It was truly a pleasure to read another of your books! 1 Dawn298 2

Misery Rock by Reagan Keeter is the 3rd book I have read by this author and my favorite so far! This psychological thriller is an edge of your seat thrill ride from start to finish. Loved the main character Sharron. She is a mother and psychologist who discovers, quite by accident, that her husband, Ben, is a killer. She has been fooled all these years but isn't sure how she can safely get her daughter and herself away him. Ben threatens to kill them if she goes to police. He also tells Sharron she must join his sociopathic killing group on a camping trip and prove she is with them rather than against them. The more she learns the more she knows she has to get the evidence needed to take him and his sociopathic friends down. As the novel advances, Sharron learns how mentally and physically strong she can be. I received this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review. I highly recommend this book.1 Paige1,746 83

Synopsis: Sharron Freeman is a loving suburban mother and psychologist whose world gets shattered when she learns her husband, Ben, is a killer. Worse than that, he kills as part of a group and, since she doesn’t know who the other participants are, going to the police is not an option.

Desperate to keep herself and her daughter safe, she pretends she’s interested in joining them. Then Sharon sets out to discover who else is involved and find evidence against them before they meet to kill again.

It’s a journey that will send Sharon into the nefarious world of the dark web and put her life in danger more than once. It will require her to draw on courage she didn’t know she had and come face to face with enemies she didn’t know existed. And in the end, it all might prove to be in vain.

Review: For the most part I really d this book. It was a good thriller with lots of twists and turns. The book had good world building and character development. The mystery was also well thought out and I managed to read the book in an hour and a half because it was so enthralling.

The only issue I had was that the book was a bit predictable for me and that the book was a bit too fast paced in some places.

Verdict: It was good!

What would you do if you found out something horrible and unforgivable about your husband? Would you leave him? What if he wouldn’t let you? Sharon was a loving mother to Maria and a wife to Ben. One day Sharon found something that belonged to Ben that terrified her. Ben caught her in the middle of her discovery. Ben would do anything to make sure his secrets stay buried.. This book was so intense from the first page to the last I often found myself holding my breath. I though the story line was very original and well planned out. It was refreshing to read about a strong female character. A great read you won’t want to miss! Liz48

This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first page. Each time I thought I understood what was going on, there was another curve thrown.

Sharon , a psychologist and Shawn, a detective for the Atlanta police get involved in some mysterious goings on that seemed a bit off but soon were off the rails. Sharon was dragged in by her husband Ben and his "camping" buddies and her need to protect her daughter.

This is one of those books where you tell yourself "just one more chapter" and then just can't stop. I won't spoil the book by writing a book report. I will just tell you to read it for yourself. I was given an ARC for my honest review Rebecca89

Sharon Freeman is a successful psychologist and mother with a great husband or so she thinks. Until one day she stumbles across some evidence that her husband is a serial killer who is working with a group of others just him and he knows that she knows. So it is up to Sharon to convince him that she wants to join their group and find the evidence to put them all away before it it is too late for her and her daughter.

This book suck you in within in the first chapter. I could not put this book down. I did find it to be kind of predictable but it was well written and full of suspense. Ruthie MarlenéeAuthor 7 books24

Not to sound cliche, but this book had me on the edge of my seat until the end. My heart threatened to jump out of my chest page after page. Imagine you think you know your husband and then you discover the worst secret imaginable -- your husband is a killer. Everything protagonist Sharon believed to be true about her husband as truth is gone. And then when he threatens to kill her and her daughter if she doesn't follow along, she must find a way to outwit him, before it's too late for her and their daughter. Hang on for this ride!

Another outstanding effort by Reagan Keeter! A well-written, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller that will leave you breathless at times in anticipation of the next twist in the plot. Don’t start reading this book if you are not prepared to stay up all night as you follow Sharon through the events that lead to its surprise and very satisfying ending.

This is another great story that will leave you wondering about people in your own life. I thought I had a pretty good idea where this story was going but ...NO! Reagan Keeter takes the reader in a totally different way to prove that no one really knows a person and what they can be capable of doing! Awesome story!!!
