3- 3.5 Stars

This is the first installment in the Lust List Series. The series revolves around a Hollywood heiress who just lost her father. She comes back into town for her father’s death and meets Kaiden Stone while visiting her attorney.

Kaiden Stone is the heir to Stone Records and famous in his own right for being the most eligible bachelor on The Lust List.

Not knowing who Kaiden is she accepts his help and flees with him after the paparazzi begin harassing her. Lost and alone in the world Hayley is drawn to Kaiden and his white knight tendencies. However, it doesn’t take long for her to realize who Kaiden and what he is really after.

Feeling that Kaiden’s intentions are self-servivng, she decides to give up and move on from the idea of the two of them. That is until she learns that Kaiden might be able to help her get what she wants.

Things are just beginning and I have guess about where things will go with this one. So many things are still up in the air and there are many possibilities for this series.

I am just not sure where things are going and how I feel about the characters. Overall, I enjoyed it and I do plan to continue on to see what happens next.

I have a feeling that, I read it in one breath. This book caught my attention right from the start! Now I have to have a little bit to breathe and then I can also write a review.

This is the story of Hayley and Kaidan. They are both famous and scandal follows them everywhere. It seems that Hayley has it all, but all this is not as easy as it seems to be. Kaiden also has its own struggles.
“You know… We’re an item on the Internet.”
“We are?” I suppress a smile. “That’s really weird, since I just met you.”
“Right? But if it’s on the Internet…”
“What?”
“Then it must be true.”

In the first part of this series happens so much and it creates interest me how all of this plays out.

HAYLEY & KAIDAN

"...you and me? We don't have a thing. And trust me--we never will." Kaidan Stone and Hayley Wade meet thanks to the paparazzi and surprisingly they both have no idea who each other are. The attraction is instant; at first it seemed a one-time thing, but of course fate refuses to leave them alone.
"You know... We're an item on the Internet."
"We are?" I suppress a smile. "That's really weird, since I just met you."
"Right? But if it's on the internet..."
"What?"
"Then it must be true."
Hayley is back in LA and not planning to stay. Her father is dead and he didn't leave her with a lot of good memories to remember him by. At least she'll be getting an inheritance with eight figures, but it comes with a catch.
My own dad left a giant "fuck you" note to me, even in death. She has to either retrieve aka steal the family heirloom his ex stole or wait till she's forty for the money. Moreover, her father has an unpaid debt with some not-so-nice people and it's up to her to pay it. With only 500 bucks in her bank account, the inheritance is the only thing she can rely on--if she can even get it on time.

As Hayley gets to know Kaidan better, physically and mentally...

There seems to be more underneath Kaidan then he let's on and after getting burned, she's determined to remove his presence from her life.
I want to swear off Kaidan for good... But the answer to all my problems is living in his mansion. Focused on retrieving the heirloom, conveniently she needs Kaidan to get access to the house. With no choice, as she delves deeper into the relationship with Kaidan, the chances of getting hurt increase and she's left to wonder whether Kaidan is worth it.

HEA? Nooooooooo.. cliffhanger :(

I really think I'm going to die of anticipation for the next book.. I read through this really fast and since I'm a sucker for these kind of stories, I enjoyed it a lot more than I should have. Although, I don't really regret it because it was aweee-sommmmmeee!

I loved Hayley, she had her head in the game and had her priorities straight--most of the time. She was a badass heroine; that's what books need these days.
What she sees in Kaidan? I honestly don't know.. JUST KIDDING, who wouldn't want to bang--I mean lick--excuse me I mean TALK to that man?? He isn't on the Lust List for no reason..

Before I go into my post-book depression.. Nova Raines,

Now I will go sulk in my dark closet and cry to myself because the next installment comes out in December. Two months has never seemed so far away...

A fairly fun read. I'm going to be honest and say that I didn't really Kaidan. He's uber mysterious but almost too mysterious for me to even form an opinion on him. Just... meh.
But I do really adore Hayley which is why this was a ~3 star for me. She's the daughter of a dead rock star. She's complex and she's messed up yet she's not a cliche which I appreciate so much! She's trying to do the right thing but she's also in quite a troubling situation and I'm already biting my nails wondering what she's going to do. na-or-contmp-rom5 s janet whimpey11

Depressing. Harley is a spoiled, self centered brat. Has a college degree but no job or interest in getting a job. She just wants her trust fund. Ugh. And Kaidan is a jerk. This was a disappointing read for me. I did not enjoy the story. Actually, there was not really much of a story to go on. The thing I d the most was that it was over. The characters were not interesting and it was boring. I wish there was more of a story, and character building. With what the book is, I found it disappointing. HOT.

I don't know where I should begin my review from. There are just too many things to say. The most important thing: I AM DYING TO READ THE NEXT BOOK!

Volume One ends with a cliffhanger - a good one. Curiosity is bubbling inside me. When I completed reading these thirteen chapters, I was , "No, this can't be happening to me right now! Why did it have to end?"

Nova Raines has formed the story in such a way that there is no escape. You are hooked onto the story in the first chapter itself. It has a smooth flow and the author definitely knows how to play with words. Not for a moment I thought that there were loop holes or any errors. I couldn't spot them and the writer herself has done a pretty hard job.

Kaidan is this guy whom you want to kiss your way around and slap his smug smile off at the same time. This story get interesting by each passing sentence. Kaidan may have a thing for blondes, but he certainly has interest in this girl Hayley. But since him and the hotshot actress Peyton have been on and off together there are plenty of misunderstandings.

However I wish to see more to Kaidan and Hayley in the series to come :D

Hats off, Nova! <3

P.S. I have received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review :)1 Mary Mooney2,453 56

Hayley has come back to L.A. for her rock star father's funeral. After meeting with the lawyer, she realizes just how spaced out or high her father really was and what he wants her to do in order to receive her inheritance. The lawyer is a slim-ball and she hurries out of his office. Where she see an incredibly good-looking guy. Turns out the guy is Kaidan Stone, well known playboy and the heir to the Stone Record Label Empire. Is Kaidan playing her, using her as a rebound from his ex-girlfriend? Will she be able to stay away from Kaidan? Can Kaidan make a choose of who he wants? This story ended way too soon for me, I finished it in less than two hours. This is a first for me by Nova Raines and I can't wait for Tangled trust (book 2).

Well that was slightly disappointing. I'm stuck with this weird notion that there was too much going on, but at the same time, nothing was really happening. I understand this is just the opening to the other stories, but I don't think it did that great of a job. There were too many problems going on. Why won't Rowan talk to Hayley? Will she be able to steal the diamond back? Will she be able to pay off her father's debt? And that's not even counting all the questions that come with Kaidan. I said, there were so many problems introduced, but really nothing came of them. And something that annoyed me about Hayley is that she was brave enough to smart off against some scary drug dealer with a gun, but she cries at even the littlest insult she gets from a stranger? I think I'll pass on reading any more of this.freebies1 Amanda Grooms662 6

Free book. Okay reading-- I was on the fence about how I felt about Hayley's poor little rich girl attitude (she apparently can't do anything for herself-- she's never not had a maid, poor baby), and didn't really understand Kaiden and his hot/cold routine. Also, the idea of splitting one normal size book into 4 tiny ones (and charging 2.99 a pop) is extortion. For real. BS!1 Veronica125 4

Hello all! I have just finished reading One Condition: Kaidan Stone (The Lust List) by Nova Raines, and Mira Bailee! Here is my review, which I am giving for FREE, in exchange for an ARC of the book that was so generously provided to me by the authors mentioned above, you guys rock! P.S. I was not bribed for this review, although I would have totally been down with some cake.

First and foremost, this book caught my attention right from the start! How can you not be interested in a book that starts off this, " You know that moment when your realize, for the first time, that your parents aren't superheroes?"

This book follows the story of Hayley Wade, daughter of two very famous parents, and Kaidan Stone, the hottie that's very naughty! Both characters are very interesting, and definitely make the book very fun to read!

He's a part of the Lust List.... and is a bachelor....

Throw in the bitch squad and a couple A-list douchebags, and you won't even realize you've finished the book until you're at the end screaming, " How the fuck did I end up here?! It's over? That was way too fast, I NEED the next book NOW!"

Or maybe you won't yell, and that was just me... anywhoo, read the book you guys, I really enjoyed it and can' wait to read the next!

I received a free eBook copy of this for signing up to the Lust List mailing list. Despite receiving a free copy, all the opinions in this review are my own, honest thoughts. Just my opinion. There will, ly be spoilers.

Hayley Wade, the main female. The story is told in her perspective. I found that she was somewhat self-entitled, especially when she just expects to inherit so much and is angry at the very fact that she actually has to do something to get the inheritance. The other thing that annoyed me was in the second page of the first chapter, when the lawyer hands a piece of paper to her, their hands accidentally touch and she automatically assumes that he's trying to seduce her. I just didn't understand that; she had no reason to think that the lawyer wanted to have sex with her. It just, to me, made her look really stuck up; that she thinks just because her hand touches a male's, that it's because he wants to be in bed with her. Hayley is pretty much a very cliché character; she's rich (not by her own making), beautiful (we only have her word on that) and she feels that everyone else owes her something. She's shallow, to put it in one word. I'd to point out, at this point, that I think the lawyer was being completely fair. All he was doing was explaining to her the conditions of the will. Just because she doesn't get the money, doesn't make it his fault.

Kaidan Stone is introduced soon after the incident with the lawyer. He acts as a white knight and saves her from... Well, paparazzi... So, effectively, he's not all that much of a saviour considering. Especially considering that she mentions that they had only begun following her after she shop-lifted, so effectively it's her own fault. Actually, as we continue reading, we find out that he has a temper and actually goes so far as to assault one of the paparazzi. An event that Hayley laughs at. That's right, he physically abuses another person and she thinks it's funny. What is wrong with these people?

As they continue through the story, (I'm writing this review as I'm reading the book, just so you know) Kaidan asks her of her life and instantly she begins to lie to him. For no reason at all. She then makes the assumption that he works at the law firm because he happens to have a reserved parking spot, "Daddy got you a job," she comments, passing judgement on him, even though she doesn't realise how hypocritical she is for judging him on that. "Whatever that was between us, clearly he didn’t care to continue it. He didn’t even ask for my number." Mind you, I wouldn't want to spend any extra time with her either, just based on how she treated him. A little while later we meet Luis and Carlos, Latino henchmen who are out to collect the debts that Hayley's father owes. They're pretty cliché. There's nothing special to them and they act in the normal way debt collectors do; just threatening and breaking stuff. They're made to look stupid, I assume, because they destroy an expensive car when they could have essentially just taken it and gotten back some of the debt. Hayley probably should have offered the car to pay off some debt. Maybe the author didn't think of that, I don't know. It just seems an incredibly stupid scene. I'm not some sort of gangster, but I am embarrassed by all parties involved to that scene. Next up, Hayley's afraid to leave her apartment because a black SUV (the Latino gangsters had one) just happens to be parked outside. I don't know what dream world Hayley Wade lives in, but black SUVs are hugely popular. Surely she'd see them most days and realise how common they are, especially in LA.

Hayley's friend, Charlotte, is stereotypical as well. She's beautiful, everyone notices her (apparently). Later on, we find out, "Char always introduces herself by name-dropping her mom". She doesn't sound a very nice person, let's be honest. She brings, to the penthouse, a copy of a magazine where Hayley was photographed with Kaiden back at the law firm. Hayley then makes a realisation that Kaiden is someone important. From the way it's written, it's made to seem as if they're the next big couple and that he's hugely popular. This is just a ridiculous thing to write because if he’s so important or well known, than surely Hayley would have heard of him before. The reasons the author gives that he hasn't been heard of (by Hayley) before are foggy and don't really make sense. Firstly, he apparently only got on the Lust List one week earlier. Okay, but in just moments, we find out that his family own the record label that her father was attached to... Okay...? What? So, Kaidan (if you're following) has only been famous about a week, though he's really been famous for many years and they really probably would know of each other by now in any real scenario.

Now, on to discuss Peyton, Kaidan's former girlfriend. So, just from what Charlotte says, she's pretty nasty and "not talented at all". Charlotte gossips a little, saying that Peyton... well, did sexual favours in order to get on the cast of Werewolf Chronicles. When we actually meet her, Hayley comments that they're doppelgangers (because we found previously that they look the same). Yet, she then tries (mentally) insulting Peyton by commenting that she looks airbrushed, a magazine cover. So, they apparently look exactly a, but she then insults Peyton for her looks. So, she's insulting herself... It gets worse because later on, she and Peyton arrive at a party in the same dress. Hayley then starts commenting about how much better she looks in it than Peyton does.

The author doesn't seem to know what to do with Hayley, I think. first she makes it out as if she's some super famous girl; making front page because of her shop-lifting, parents deaths, whatever she does to get attention. Yet, at the club, she keeps on trying to claim that Hayley is pretty much D-List. Than why try so hard to make her look an A-Lister? The author has essentially wasted a few dozen pages trying to convince us about how important Hayley is when really no-one cares about her. It does not make sense. I think that the author has no common sense at all. None of the plot points seem to make any sense whatsoever. Most of the characters, settings and even whole scenes are stereotypical. The worst thing is that they're all put together in such a way that it doesn't work at all. Sure, some of the scenes might look cool on television. Some people might characters that. However, it's just been jumbled and the way the book has been written makes everyone look stupid and no-one in the book has even one iota of intelligence. Except maybe the lawyer. I know that he's meant to look the bad guy because he's not giving her what she wants. However, he's just doing his job and he has to do so in a legal manner. If anyone knows what has to happen to get her the money, it's him. Yet, Hayley is nasty to him just because he happened to touch her hand. What's the big deal with hating that guy? Seriously. I am hugely disappointed in this book. Just, so upset about how bad it was. I think it was kind of cliche. Essentially, what it's about is a bunch of stupid people acting idiots. The only reasonably smart person is made to look nasty because he was just doing his job. Much of the people in this book suffer from lack of discipline. From what I gather, we are meant to the main characters, but they are very nasty, not just to each other, but to random people that they don't even know. Poor behaviour such as shop lifting and thievery are justified by Hayley. Shops expect to be stolen from, in one case. The other case is an attempt to steal a diamond, which belongs to another woman and Hayley thinks that her actions are appropriate. Hayley is a terribly nasty person with no able qualities.

As I said above, I'm hugely disappointed in this book. The majority of it does not make sense. None of the main characters are able and the majority of the characters display behaviour which I am thouroughly disgusted at. 1 Star. It doesn't deserve more. That's just my opinion. I do not intend to read more of this author's work.1star 2014-read reviewed Kris226 33

Where the hell is the rest of this story, it literally ends right in the end right in the middle of everything and not even a good climactic cliffhanger ending type thing. The entire second half of the story is missing and it makes no sense why it would end there.

Also I really do not Kaidan, he's too rough, to the point where he can be abusive. He also come off as a huge asshole from the last scene. Haley should not have given him another chance after the first time he messed up.

At least I got this free and didn't waste any money on this trash.2017-reads ebooks what-did-i-just-read Tequila1,293 24

I picked this up as a freebie on Amazon and I'm really glad I didn't pay anything for it. I was looking for something different than what I've been currently reading and while this is different, it's just no. I feel this book is filled with more fluff than actual plot and I feel no need to continue with this series, at all. It feels everything is a bit flat with no real substance to it. Joan1 review

I couldn't stand reading this book. It's terrible. My first impression of Hayley from the very beginning is she sounds a piece of work who should get the worst ass kicking of her life. Don't even get me started on Kaiden. He sounds a spoiled brat. Need I say more? There are far better books out there to read. This is a book I would burn at the stake. I wouldn't even recommend it to the devil himself. Sarah SteinAuthor 45 books517

At first, I didn't think I'd enjoy reading this story because I'm not usually into the A-list characters. I have to say that it was a gripping, and interesting read. Kaiden's attitude was something else and I wanted to know why he was the way he was but unfortunately, I can't find out. The second book in the series is not available, and it's crushing. I wish I could've had the chance to read the rest of the story. Tianna?loves books?1,082
