Combination of great story and writing. A must read for fantasy lovers; and also for casual readers of the genre. Selarom's first book of the Jode series beautifully correlates the supernatural reality of fantasy with the psychological nuances of everyday life.

Bravo!1 Barbara Kennedy1 review

Very engaging story! Highly recommended if you want to read something that is fresh with original characters and story line. If you are a reader of fantasy the Jode is a must read. And....fans are thrilled to know the second book in the series will be coming out soon. Can’t wait!!1 S. Petit6

A revolutionary fantasy! This very descriptive story shows conflict with the various characters and represents what this revolution is about. It reflects the reality about how people respond to each other and a reality that does exist.
I the intensive interactions lent to the story Mr. Selarom weaves, but, there were some funny moments, too. Even though it's a fantasy, modern and past society is well represented. I don't have a favorite character because I love them all. There's a certain symbolism in his writing.
I'll definitely buy his next book, "Awakenings Reckoning"! I'm at the edge of my seat!!1 Kathy3

Love this book! I anxiously await the rest of the series! This is a fun and easy read, the descriptive & colorful writing makes you feel you are right in the middle of the story with General Ygl, Flower Juna and the rest of the characters. There are different dialects for each of the species but they are easy to pick out as they are printed in bold font and there is a chart at the beginning of the book, however, it's fairly easy to pick up on the dialects without referring to the chart. I would highly recommend this book for the fantasy lovers out there and I think this would make an awesome movie!1 Crystal Barker3

I loved the dialects and creation of new creatures! The illustrations on the front and back pages were inspiring and helped set a visual tone for the book. At first, the book was slow reading because of the language and dialects of the different characters and I was flipping to the dialect chart and the map and pics on front and back of book. But, by the end I was speeding along and thoroughly immersed in the book. I am excited to read part two and excited to see this on the big screen one day! That would make an incredible movie through animation!!1 Crystal Barker3

I read the 1st edition Kindle version of this book and loved it so much that I bought the paperback 2nd edition for my 13 year old nephew to read. The story line is engaging and the characters are great. I am excited to read part 2.1 Allison F1 review

Mr P J Selarom I suppose we should start by saying ‘congratulations’ on completing The Jode part one ! You must be really pleased to have finally finished writing it? Pleased! Relieved! cant wait for the rest. Bravo !!!

Loved this book. From the start to finish, the story kept me hooked. The antagonist is intimidating which is always important, something authors these days try and fail to set in to the reader. The main cast is colorful and have great banter with each other. Pick it up!1 Billy ButtonsAuthor 19 books142

Readers’ s
‘This book reminded me of The Lord of the Rings. It’s very slow to get going, but once you are hooked in, you fall in love with it. The writing style is complex and can be difficult to understand. I had to re-read a few of the chapters. I think the author is fab at creating a fantasy world and interesting characters, but it just needs simplifying a bit.’ Boy, aged 15
‘I loved the chemistry between the characters. The author is very good at developing characters and making the reader care about them and what happens to them. But he’s not good at pacing, as it was too slow and longwinded.’ Girl, aged 14
‘This is a good fantasy story although it is very wordy and is difficult to follow in parts. I think the author is excellent at describing setting, but it’s a slow novel and it took me a bit to get into it. Then I d it and now I want to read the next.’ Girl, aged 15

To Sum It Up:
‘A strongly plotted, complex adventure filled with charismatic and enthralling characters. A FINALIST and highly recommended’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

General YGL is a very good character. He is strong and knows how to lead. The genie is a big help keeping him going. My belief is this book will make a very good movie. Rondo is a bad guy working for a bad God who will make things worse for YGL. I will definitely buy the next book for sure. I'm really waiting to see what happens and when they will meet again. It's very interesting because PJ mixes religion, politics, etc. Nick1 review
