I appreciate what the author is trying to do with this book, which is to tell a story of a normal m/m relationship where one of the guys has autism and the other is struggling with a new mental illness. However, I have a few problems with this book. First of all, the title is misleading. The book doesn't focus on autism. Quite the opposite, actually, showing how normal life can be for someone on the spectrum. That's actually the second issue I have with it. Not everyone who has autism is able to function as well in a "normal" society as the autistic character in the book. Plus, there are some autistic people who function better in a "normal" society than the character in the book. Same with the range of schizophrenic people vs. the other main character in the book.

I was excited to read this story about Oliver and Amos. Oliver is best friends with Amos’s brother, Corey, and they have all grown up together. Amos had autism and had always been pushed aside by Corey. Oliver is the only one who’s truly seen Amos as a person - his only friend.

I enjoyed the idea for this book - an autistic man, an overprotective mother, an angry and jealous older brother, a friend who sees through all of that to the person inside - but the execution was not as smooth as it could have been. I found myself confused during some parts of the story, which made me feel disconnected from the characters as well. Oliver faces his own challenges in this book which I won’t spoil, and again, I d the ideas in theory, but they was just lacking a bit in execution.

I enjoyed Amos very much - his autism was written with care and realism, the author did a great job there. He lives with such shame and frustration and how his brother treats him - it’s heartbreaking to read. Oliver really sees Amos and always has, more than he himself even realized.

I really did not enjoy Corey - I suppose I wasn’t supposed to! - but he was still overly negative for me. I would have d to see Oliver stand up to him sooner. Or really, just pull back from their friendship because it was not really clear why they were even friends anymore at all. Oliver didn’t even enjoy spending time with his “best friend.”

Overall, this book is a quick read and one that I finished, but not one that I felt strongly about. Good ideas and storyline, just missing more of a character emotional connection for me. 2.5/5 stars.

This was a totally new to me author, but I saw this title and I was intrigued. I wish I could say that this book lived up to what I hoped it would be, but unfortunately it didn't. That doesn't mean it wasn't a good book. It just wasn't everything I wanted it to be. Overall, there was a lot here that I did and some things that just didn't work for me. I did really the fact that one of the main characters had autism and the whole best friend's brother was a big plus. Also, there is some solid tension, drama, angst, emotion and even a giant bombshell of a twist flowing throughout the story. Speaking of that twist: It and the results of it could very much be triggers for some readers. Unfortunately, for the most part, this book kind of just skims the surface of everything. We really don't go very deep into the characters (except for Oliver a bit) and the relationship building is seriously lacking. Most of the big moments are touched on and moved on from very quickly. As a whole, it's not a terrible book. But if you're truly looking for a book that is going to be about the feels and the romance, this book is going to leave you unsatisfied because I am very sad to say that so much potential was left untapped here. I am freely posting an impartial review. Janice Wilson637 2

Oliver, his best friend Corey, and Corey's autistic brother Amos have been friends forever. One Amos kisses Oliver and confesses his long-time feelings for him, which makes Oliver stop and think about the possibilities of perhaps feeling something back for Amos. When other knowledge about Oliver comes to light, the two young men deal with things as they come, gradually coming to realize how much they mean to each other and how well they balance each other out.

I enjoyed reading this book about two neurodivergent individuals falling in love. Having a son living with autism, I have experienced some of the highs and lows of someone living with that condition. And I have seen first hand how much love a neurodivergent person has to offer. The author deals with Amos' autism in an authentic way. I loved watching the MC's fall in love.

I really the connection Oliver and Amos had
With the relationship between these two. I really d it and understanding the struggles that Oliver was going through and how he didn’t realise what he had been feeling for Amos over the years. And how he stuck up for him against his brother. That part of the story I really really didn’t get was with the title being awkwardly yours sincerely autism I expected more on Amos life coping with Autism. I found the title of this book very misleading. But I really did the connection that these two guys had and the heartache for Oliver knowing that it was his best friends brother. But I thought Corey was a jerk.
I will definitely read another book by this author.

3 ½ starts - I enjoyed reading the journey to HEA for Amos who is autistic and Oliver who is his best friend and the best friend of Amos’ older brother Corey. Amos has loved Oliver for many years and finally acts on his feelings. While I love that Oliver eventually returns his feelings, I was disappointed that he did so only after his own mental illness came to light. There was not much about autism beyond the initial description and Corey’s mention of it. That said, I enjoyed the sweet relationship between Amos and Oliver and their chemistry is strong. Hopefully, Corey will get his own story where his character matures and he finds his HEA.

This book was a surprising little gem! The way this is written from Oliver's POV really connects you to him and his mental illness. I felt I was going through all the thoughts, feelings and experiences with him. I felt his fear and frustration. I had not even known this was going to be an element to this story. Amos his best friend's little brother is the most genuinely sweet and innocent guy, and his autism does not define him. I was all hearts for these two and they had a hard-fought happy ending. Wonderful chemistry with just right amount of sweet steaminess that fit these two perfectly. all-the-feels angst brother-s-friend ...more Elaine Gray1,590 16

Awkwardly Yours, Sincerely Autism is a sweet romantic, book. Amos is autistic and has been in love with Oliver forever. Corey is best friends with Amos's brother. Oliver is attracted to Amos but doesn't act because of his friendship. The book had my attention from start to finish. Amos feels everyone can't get past his autism and treats him a child. The book also touches on mental issues and how Oliver copes with them and Amos is so attentive to his needs. The characters are able and the book has a great flow and these two get their happily ever after. Laura Carter-Alexander551 9

Amos and Oliver have been best friends for years. After hiding how he really feels about Oliver, Amos decides it’s time to take a chance and act on his feelings. It’s not until Oliver receives some unexpected news that he starts to see Amos in a completely new light. Feelings deepen quickly as their relationship strengthens. Will Amos and Oliver have the courage to stand strong and fight for their relationship?

I loved this book. I thought it was such a beautiful romance. It was really nice that one of the couple was Amos, who has autism. And I d that Oliver, the other of the couple, has some mental health issues of his own. So I thought the relationship was lovely in the way these two men were there for each other, supported each other, and loved each other. The depiction of these conditions felt very realistic and well written. This story is also about family. A wonderful read. 5 stars. Catarina Águas2,011 193
