Reg gets a surprise visit from on old flame, Jake, who has come to Black Sands spouting big talk of setting up a wolf conservation program. Reg is quickly swept off her feet by Jake and invites the handsome fellow back into her life despite the misgivings her friends share concerning Jake’s alleged academic credentials and his interest in conservation. When a few inconsistencies crop up, even Reg reluctantly begins to have doubts. True to form, Reg listens to her conscience. What follows is a spellbinding adventure that kept me up most of the night to finish the story. I was drawn into the narrative right from the start and I truly enjoyed tagging along with Reg and her friends as they investigated Jake’s big conservation project. Reg, being a gifted psychic, can communicate with the wolves at the lab and they have quite a story to tell her. One of the things I love about this series is that you know justice will prevail and the villain will be dealt with in some fashion, but you may be surprised by the path that takes. Karma can be tough. I absolutely recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good cozy mystery with engaging characters and imaginative twists along the way. Looking forward to the next one.

I really, really enjoyed this book! The way that the author described the warehouse, lab and everything that was inside the lab, I was able to watch a movie in my mind's eye. Not too many books can do that for me. Oh, and I am not going to tell you what was inside the lab, read the book and find out yourself. This story was a bit different as it wasn't all about Reg Rawlins as it was about Jake. Jake was an old boyfriend that Reg broke up with years ago and how they rekindled their relationship and his work.Take

I love this series! With Ms. Workman’s vivid imagination she can make absolutely anything happen in Reg Rawlins mystical world. This time Reg’s old boyfriend comes to town, trying renew their relationship. Jake is secretive about his real reason for being in Black Sands, but he can’t fool Reg for long. This book has everything expected of this author. The imaginative plot, superior storytelling, and unusual characters keep those pages turning. This series is very highly recommended! Well, Reg’s ex-boyfriend seems a nasty horrible person. From the moment he sees her again he assumes that she will just take him back. Then he starts trying to control her and manipulate her. I really didn’t him. Turns out he is quite evil. However, his fate is very firing and quite funny. I loved reading this book because Reg finally stands up for herself and for what is right.
