Spoiler Alert!!

Thornbane originally thought that killing the witch that cursed her would automatically return her normal body. She was wrong. The witch is dead, and she is still trapped in the body of a demon. She is unable to claim her birthright trapped in the body of a demon, so she is forced once again to abandon her people and flee the city to preserve her life. She reconnects with her team and decides to take the fight to the witches once she has gain mastery of her magic. She embarks on a quest to this end which becomes rather convoluted with a plethora of ups and down without a definitive answer to her number one problem regaining her true form so instead she targets the witches, and leads an assault on their home turf, the Ashes. She decimates the Ashes as the witches had left only a skeleton crew behind as the bulk of their forces had move on focus on domination of all civilized lands.
This is a terrific book and I highly recommend it.
