ARC review-

This book was a DELIGHT to read! Given the fact that this is Nicole’s debut novel, I was truly impressed with her writing and her story.

All of the characters were super lovable, and truly had me laughing out loud at times. So much of what happens was just so relatable, from the roommate dynamics to “netflix and chilling”, it made it very easy to get sucked into the story. Jalen and Byron were my favorite characters with their wit, banter, and friendship. Jalen was hilarious and lovable in the way he had no idea how to do the bf/gf thing, but that he tried so hard to get it right. I LOVED that Ivy was a tall basketball queen. It is not often you read a romance book with the FMC being bigger than pocket sized, so as a fellow tall lady I appreciated that. I also loved the relationship Ivy has with her sister and family. Both Ivy and Jalen had such heartwarming families between Ivy’s sister and kids, and Jalen’s adorable parents. The way everything came together in the end was very sweet.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to a friend looking for a sweet, funny, college sports romance. The flow of the writing was a little clunky at times, but this was definitely one of the better debut novels I have read to date. I mean who doesn’t want to read about cute puppies and friendly competition dates?
