Another book that works quite well. I love the way it details how the invasion of Poland started and the fight against the Belarusians. It was just mwah. I only have one qualm with it: why didn't the M777 howitzers just use counter-battery radar in order to locate where the Belarusian rocket artillery is and fire at them, to neutralize them, instead of using them against the infantry. It would have saved the NATO forces a lot of trouble. And... when an artillery barrage is pounding the town, you hide in the basement or trenches- not stand out on the street. 4 s James Ross77 1 follower
Killer action novel
Once again Nick Ryan goes down into the mud and dirt with men and women who have shown their bravery time and time again. The show why the saying exists war is hell. From the prospective of Airborne troooers fighting with other foot soldiers. This story is not for the faint of heart. Its gruesome and sad. But thats war. If you enjoy this genre you will not be disappointed. However once again I must point out this there is a glaring lack of diversity in Nick Ryans tales. Otherwise they are all good reads. Note - The World War 3 Techno-Thriller Action Event Series by Nick Ryan can be read in any sequence and each book in the series restricts to one battle.
A company of American 173 Airborne Brigade is training the Polish army. Unknown to them the Belarus army crossed the border and is on their doorstep on the way to Warsaw. It is upto this small band of soldiers with a short contingent field guns and 8 Abram tanks to hold the Belarus onslaught till they receive the reinforcements.action ebook fiction ...more ED Anthony197 5
Good read. A bit overboard on describing the blood and gore in the details of the battle. Everybody is aware that soldiers are wounded and die in battle. No need go into great detail to describe the type and effect of every wound. Somewhat takes away from the overall story line.
I read this as I had heard it was about the 173rd Abn Bde, one of the best combat units in the U.S. Army. I had the honor to serve in that unit in Vietnam. AIRBORNE..ALL THE WAY! Mark Payton10 2 Read
Once again Nick Ryan has hit it out of the park. He has taken his WW3 timeline and made a series of individual battles. Limiting his books to those battles has bypassed extraneous drama. His attention to military details made the chaos of combat easy to follow. For those who have no combat experience, this is a series to school you on what to expect of all-out conventional modern war.

This book is almost to truth for believe with the Ukrainian invasion
Well done book about protecting freedom and how "freedom isn't free". Very well written great plot and realistic as it gets, without going to war. Some may say it's overdone but I guess that would depend on the war and how strongly fought. Jon Theisen120 1 follower
A real page turner.
I found this book very enjoyable and the battle descriptions truly graphic. I have to say the characters are well thought out and used in the story brilliantly, my only beef is he describes F-16s they were A-10s saying they have a 20mm Gatling gun built into it fuselage. But thats it, the story is simple realistic from front to back. lisa m walton36 1 follower
Another great book.
These are great books. I hope Nick Ryan's books stay a what - if and not a grim prediction of battles to come.
I these books, I usually read them in one sitting. Dick Klemundt2
Fast read
Have a few questions. Why the wait for the air support? What happened with the other front? I understand it wasn't the main thrust of the storyline, but in view of current events it was an interesting read. Tom Watson95
Fast-paced action. Great read
This is a very fast paced WW3 story concerning a Belarusian invasion of Poland. It's a combination of hi-tech, and long odds, and brutal combat similar to the other books by Ryan. It goes quickly. Highly recommended Bruce Gruver1 reviewRead
Airborne Assault
I read this in the shadow of the current war waged by the Russians on the innocent people's of the Ukraine. This fiction is not so far from the truth we as a nation may see in our immediate future. Russia and Belarus are indeed evil entities. dan81
You will enjoy the action but horrified by the carnage.
The plot is the same for all of these short books. Under manned units fighting a determined enemy. I have enjoyed every single one. Teresa Tidwell312 7 Read
Raw storytelling at its best!
Every bit as hard hitting as the first 2 books of the series! Reads more a historical event than a work of fiction. Nick Ryan is definitely in the top list of Great military fiction writers. Gotta go buy the next book in the series now! M Diane5
