It's official. I've fallen in love with the whole pastors falling in love trope. Elijah Grant was a youth pastor who fell head over heels in love with Lyric. Lyric was your average girl, who had some baggages. She too fell in love with Elijah….but he was a pastor. Lyric had a potty mouth, and she had a wild pass. She didn't want to be no one but unapologetically herself, which made her think she wasn't good enough for the pastor. But the pastor's mind was made up. She was his. I love that the pastor allowed her to be her and never judged her… But he did try my friend that one time, but I love Lyric. I loved her personality cause she was not the one. So, when Elijah saw that side of her, I think he fell in love with her more. It was satisfying. But, his family was so dysfunctional and his sisters were so trifling. But, again they had the right one in Lyric. I loved this. It was long, but it kept my attention and it flowed nicely. 3rd book by this author and I d it. So, I'll be back.3 s Carolyn5,297 77

Good Enough

The story had a heavy spiritual tone, as it was about a preachers son and his relationship with a worldly woman. At first, I wasn't feeling Elijah. It took a minute to see his relationship with his Preacher father was overwhelming at times. Lyric never pretended to be someone she wasn't. So, I was taken aback by some of the venom from his family towards Lyric. How does a grown man think he needs to please his parents by towing the line. Everyone has some stuff in our closets. The moral of this story; keep that stuff off camera. And don't be a hypocrite. The story was a good read.1 RedEnigma94771 16
