I was given an ARC of this fantasy story and I enjoyed the magic, action and sword and sorcery.

There was a large cast of characters, each one suiting the role and plot. I especially d how the story switched to different points of view to give it depth and for us to know what was going on overall. I particularly d the use of magic and how, depending on the character, how it was used...good or bad...and how internal battles decided which path to follow.

The sense of place was well done due to good descriptions, though part of me was - another fight scene! But of course, it was all about the battle for power, or at the very least, fighting for what was 'right and not might'.

Heroes and villains galore, and I d how the supposed 'common' folk could be braver than the nobles. The dragons were a great addition and I loved to listen to their thoughts.

Yes, I enjoyed the series and this conclusion was engaging, enjoyable and filled with magic.
