Sinopsis

Maeve doesnÂ’t believe in fate and certainly not one that involves her and Padraig, the enormous and domineering alien dragon. His overly protective and possessive nature rubs her the wrong way. Padraig is certain the fiercely independent human female is the only one for him. His inner dragon has decided and the burly smith knows fateÂ’s hand when he feels it. Maeve may not, but the harsh deserts of Tajss force the two together, giving the hot-head Zmaj an opportunity. When the human females plan a new tradition of gift giving, Padraig realizes if he can find his treasure the perfect present, heÂ’ll win her heart. The only gift he wants.

I absolutely love Dragon's Gift. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it.

Maeve is an independent woman that found Padraig's constant need to protect her rubs her the wrong way. Padraig is certain that the fierce Maeve is the one for him and will do what is necessary to make her his.

I absolutely love how fierce and independent Maeve is and Padraig is one hot sexy dragon. I can't wait to see what Miranda brings next!!

Didn't care for Maeve Padraig deserved better

I didn't Maeve from the beginning her attitude towards Padraig really irritated me I understand she didn't how he was all macho but he genuinely thought that's how it should be females were to be protected and cherished what the heck is wrong with that?! She even went buck wild on the lady general when she tried to explain to her why the women really shouldn't be doing patrols with the men it's commen sense you're not in a normal situation anymore you got to stop thinking every thing should be the way you expect it to be there is a shortage of females so what else do you expect when she says they need to be protected at all costs it's not because you're weak and unable to fight it's because your life is more valuable then the males because they're more men then women but she freaked out screaming about she would not be locked away waiting to be bred it was really irritating...but anyways another thing that bugged me was we went from the pirates abducting people and that was her main bad guys besides all the natural wild life trying to kill everyone on a daily basis but now out of the blue the pirates have I guess decided screw the planet the humans aren't worth it and now she had to create a new bad guy now we have new aliens attacking and what do they want?? Well they don't know but they're assuming it must be for the Meteorite Glass they have been harvesting after all the Meteorite showers and this is what makes absolutely no sense to me here we have this big ole planet that is getting regular meteorite showers and supposedly their is an abundance of this glass so why are they attacking them for theirs?? Are they too lazy to get their own?? I think the author just needed a new bad guy and this was the best she could do..and the whole thing between Maeve and Padraig made absolutely no sense I never really understood what the heck that meteorite glass fusing with their bodies did for them and what the point of it was but supposedly it made him and her some what telepathic I think and connected them to the planet?? I know WTH is what I was thinking and also I was thinking Why?? She really didn't need to add that in the story but there is one thing I've learned about this author she loves confusing her readers with useless info 1 Emily Pennington18.5k 306

Maeve noticed a shadow of something outside the safety of the walls. Curiosity won her over and she approached the object which turned out to be a plant. She crouched down and was looking at it when a loud shout startled her! Padraig, one of the Zmaj dragons, came stomping over to tell her it was not safe to be out there and to return at once to safety. It wasnÂ’t what he said but how he said it that angered her so much. The attitude that females had no brains and were not permitted to make decisions!

Mid-morning, Maeve stops cutting up vegetables with Delilah as she rushes out to get the meteorite glass shipment for Errol from the mining village. She looks all around but the shipment she was supposed to be receiving is not waiting for her at the wall. In a panic, she asks the men where it is. When they told her Padraig had taken it, she was livid Â… again. She tracked him down and screamed at him as he calmly responded that he was helping. She knew she was over-reacting but she could not control herself around him for some reason. She told him not to do her job anymore, snapped at the crowd watching her tantrum, and went back to help Delilah with the vegetables.

At dinner, Penelope joined the other ladies to ask their opinion on an idea. She said now that Tajss was their home, they needed to celebrate holidays together. She suggested they pick a day to designate as Christmas to celebrate giving, sharing, and caring for each another. All the great things that Christmas represents! Everyone enthusiastically agreed. Maeve offered to carry a box of candles to Errol for one of the struggling women – but it was far heavier than she realized. Her arms were burning and she walked right into Padraig! Without a word, he nods toward the heavy box with a question on his face, and she nods, accepting his help. They drop it off to Errol and walk out together as she thanks him and he wishes her a goodnight. Hmmm.

Padraig knows Maeve is not interested in him, despite his doing what a male should do by protecting her and helping her. She is not the others. When she sees them assigned together for collecting the meteorite glass, he know she will not be happy. He wants to talk to her, but his words never come out right, so he nods and remains silent. He sees the sand shift before it should and grabs her to stop her movement. Instead, she starts to say something and he covers her mouth as she throws punches and fights him. He finally gets her attention and nods so that she sees the zemlja which looks for prey by sound. He saved her life, she is grateful. Until he says, “A male protects the fragile.” Instantly, she is furious again! Frustrated, he tells her she does not understand. “Women are TREASURES!” And though she shakes her head, the anger is gone and her eyes are gentle. Is he making progress with her? If only he knew what he had said that was pleasing to her!

This was a cute Christmas-themed story. Padraig is not the best at communication and everything he says is taken the wrong way by Maeve. Will the upcoming Christmas celebration the ladies are planning give him a way to reach her heart and let her know how he feels about her? Grab your book and find out if the Spirit of Christmas is on Tajss this year!
