Sinopsis

What do you do when you’ve burned every bridge that can lead you home?

When the only path to survival is through an impregnable citadel of certain death?

And when the one way to save your place in the Tribe may be to leave your friends behind forever?

Strap in for the final chapter in the Raiders saga – the biggest and most explosive ARISEN adventure yet, and the climax and conclusion of the epic series. The USS John F. Kennedy, humanity's last best hope for survival, is running out time, trapped in the Straits of Hormuz by their most lethal and sinister threat ever. And to salvage any chance of survival, or progressing the mission to save humanity, the Marine Raiders must gear up for one last impossible raid, assaulting into the teeth of a fortress defended by 200 Wagner Group contractors, each of whom is better than every one of them – and who are led by a malevolent ghost from the past. Finally, Yaz must confront all his demons to have any chance of coming back from this one, of saving his teammates, or of finding redemption for all that has come before.

Great conclusion to this prequel series leading up to book one of the arisen series!action-adventure horror military ...more13 s Carrie Mudge101 1 follower

The feelings when you read the last book of a series - so many feelings! Sad that the journey is over. Triumphant that the heroes won (mostly), but still feeling the loss of what they lost. That smug little ‘ah-HAH!’ as plot lines are tied-up and tied-in, the satisfaction as the ending is linked back to the very beginning and you spot the in-jokes and references. This book is a magnificent conclusion to the Raiders series and brings us right back round so very neatly to the start of the Arisen-verse.

Been mulling over the fate of Yaz all day, as my first reaction was that no, the JFK should have found out what he did, he should have been celebrated as a hero in the end, not still doubted! It’s not fair! However this has resolved to a sense that the ambiguity of his fate is fitting, in keeping with the way in which Yaz himself could never make up his mind or fit in. His written ending couldn’t be neatly tied up with a bow, as he himself wasn’t a neat and perfect package. It was a really well planned and executed ending for him, better than any other would have been.

Really hope we get a follow-up story with the Rangers - to echo Specialist Smith, I their chances!

And Fick’s first name? No words. Just no words!!!!

Absolutely The Best Damn Series Ever Written!

Honestly, this is the best series ever written. I do not care if we are talking, military fiction, techno thriller, spy novels, or what have you - hands down this is the most exciting, well written, hold on to your nuts thrill ride series of books on the planet.

Take the above with the fact that I normally read Clancy, Thor, Greaney, Nealen and Flynn and that ought to tell you something about this series.

Please take note, I do not know the author, have not gotten anything in return for this review nor will I get anything for this review. It is simply that good that I had to say something.

Do yourself a favor though and start at the beginning. I promise you, you’ll have gobbled up all of the books in the ARISEN series in no time. Be warned though, you are going to lose countless hours of sleep as you work your way to the end! Enjoy you lucky people, as I wish I had just stumbled upon this series and could go back and read these all over again for the first time. Shelley Barr43 5

What a journey this has been. I can’t believe it’s over. I picked up the first book in this series over 9 years ago. 24 books later…..what an epic story this has been, right up until this last book. Stephen Fuchs along with Glynn James, in the beginning has written so many wonderful characters, the good, the bad & the ugly were all so amazing, and entertaining. The last 5 books loops back to the beginning, before book 1 Fortress Britain. And it flows seamlessly into the introduction of the 6 main characters. With that said, I don’t do spoilers and I don’t do details. If you books set in the ZA, this is the best series you’ll ever read. If you military books, again top notch real characters. Stephen knows his stuff, and if he doesn’t he goes to the source to bring his characters to life. I absolutely would recommend this series 100% I’m just sad it’s ended, however he could always loop back even further before the out break, and show how it all started….I’m down for a couple more years of this series. Still Tons O fun

Not a lot new here, Fick is Fick, Yaz is still whining about not belonging (this is getting a little old, wouldn't they have offed him by now?) while still bonking the hot aviator, missions get planned, stuff goes wrong, and a bunch of things get blown up. Oh and men die, some good men, just. real life.

And it's all fun and entertaining, esp the big finish on the Russian oil platform. It gets a bit slow on the parts where Yaz is bemoaning his existence, but the action sequences make up for it. I guess the next book will wrap up the whole Arisen series, about 25 books or so. I have read them all, the best ZA series I have read, although interestingly, no zombies in this one, just Spetnas, which Is worse... Allison Evarts162 5

I can't say I loved this. I am glad to be done with the series. Too far away from the premise of the books which was special operators fighting zombies. Now we have had the whining voice of Yaz the overwhelming subject for the last two books or so and it just drags me down - his wanting to fit in and feeling sorry for himself - ugh. I just didn't enjoy it and almost didn't finish it. Even the fight scenes between the Americans and Russians weren't much fun for me - the odds felt too overwhelming all the time and super stressful/impossible. I am glad I got through it to give my due diligence to this author who I have really enjoyed though a lot of books now but once again, glad it's done. Jon Theisen120 1 follower

A real hot damn page turner

I’m a total fan of this author and especially this series. I could not wait to see how it ended and what happens to my favorite characters. Sadly some of my favorite characters ended with the series while others soldier on, one in particulars fate seems to never fit in and belong where he’s truly needed. If you a great shoot’em up combat book that takes place during the apocalypse this books for you, great characters, a good story line and great writing makes this a winner in my book even if my favorite character is caught out again. tighter than a frog’s ass at 40 fathoms!

Seriously, an amazing read. This book/series/author is so good, I just can’t put down these stories, but only have to because I have to do lame things “work” and “sleep”

All joking aside though, the book ties up some loose ends mentioned in the main series that show how everything came to be, all nice and neat. Totally worth the read, and I personally think the ending is pretty realistic, with a slight possibility of revisiting and maybe writing more about. I honestly can’t wait for more Arisen-universe stories! Jennifer English112 3

An epic conclusion

that actually ends at the beginning of a more epic storyline, that technically came 1st. Poor Yaz, misunderstood until the very end.

Heads up, the story is told from multiple POVs but all in the 3rd person, which is usually a no-go for me, but it works surprisingly well for the whole series. I'm so sad to "see" the end of the ZA but so glad I got to "see" it the whole way thru. Michael Keller788 7

A rocket-ride from beginning to end!

A non-stop, can't-put-down, sleep when you're dead, thrill ride on every page! The Raiders are amazing! Every single Marine a force multiplier, ready to rock and roll, genuinely ferocious bad-ass every single one! Amazing story! Outstanding flow of action and bravery. This is a great read! No author does zombie/tactical/military better.

Fantastic read, as ever. I don’t leave a lot of but Mr Fuchs deserves it.

If you have never read this series, you are in for a great ride, buy all of them!

And this needs to be turned into a series dammit. Come on Amazon, make him an offer. virgil 361 4

Awesome Series Concludes

I think that the most impressive feature of the entire ARISEN series is that the storyline remained fresh and exciting throughout so many volumes, maintaining the reader's complete interest. Great characters, quality writing and an abundance of action were consistent from beginning to end. I look forward to Mr Fuchs next undertaking.
