Where is Brook?
An exciting mystery thriller with a well written storyline that keeps you guessing to the very end. A plot with plenty of surprises and great character development. I gave only four stars because I don't the primary characters. I do, however, love Michael Lister's writing! Instead of a deeply religious detective, this story is about a young man on probation due to his uncontrollable temper and an "in your face" lesbian who always has her knives on her person, hence her nickname "Blade". Sorry, they just aren't my cup of tea. The story line, though, is GREAT! A beautiful bride to be goes missing from her bridesmaid's weekend. She enters the bar with her friends but never comes out! As usual, Michael ties the story together, solves the mystery and shocks us all with a surprise ending! I loved it and so will you! A story that pulls you in from the first page, a ten year old
cold case of a young coed. This was personal for him a foster sister,
the fear of losing any more.
When Burke and Blake are called in to another similar case .
A bridal bash, everything was perfect until she too vanished.
Could a person up and leave everything if they were so happy.
You love the characters, their roles unfold and you too want answers
This story has it all and I enjoyed it, as readers will also. Well done

Bottom line.... Michael Lister!

Despite some readers disliking perceived character "wokeness" and reviewers themselves trying to be "woke", this is another stellar Lister novel. It's true, Blade and Burke don't fit everyone's comfort zone, but there isn't just one mold for everyone, not one character style across society. As with so many good literary characters, these are flawed, but good folk within, and not nearly so unsavory as one might be led to believe.

Michael continues to provide wonderful reading entertainment.

Two thumbs up...three if I had another.

A great read

This is a 10 year old cold case as bride goes missing at her bachelorett's. party. Burke and Blake get called in to try to solve what happened the night she disappeared. She just disappeared and no trace of her have been found. Could she have just left when she was so happy.
There are lots of twists and turns to the disappearance and reminds them of the foster sister who when missing.
This books keeps in hooked yo find out what happened.

This book is much more enjoyable than the first two. He acts a regular normal adult and not a child. The case is interesting. While he's no John Jordan, he is readable without the reader screaming "get over it!" I recommend this book.arc-read read-arc Michelle Maki7
