Let me start off by saying that I do think this had promise and for the most part I did enjoy myself but I think what would have taken this from 2 to 3 stars would have been better consistency in the writing and to not focus so much on ramming tropes into the plot. There were moments that Carina and cassians “hatred” for each other seemed really forced especially from Carinas perspective and it made her come across as extremely childish and annoying. I don’t think there was all that much character development either and I believe this was sacrificed for avénese between Carina and Cassian’s tension. This brings me to another point, the book could have easily been edited down to at least 350 pages, I just think there were so many unnecessary things that weren’t relevant and interactions that served to add nothing to Cassian and Carinas dynamic or reflect any kind of personal development.

I think it goes with out saying too that this book is not well edited, there were multiple errors in spelling and grammar which for me isn’t a big deal because at the end of the day I got this book through unlimited but for someone whose payed for it, the author needs to be more careful or hire an editor with more experience.5 s Amber8

I loved the banter, but I hated the ending. I just felt the plot wasnt well lead on. But I am still going to be reading part two
