DCI Garrick’s new case takes a strange turn when the victim displays a unique characteristic that ignites a media storm.

The case centres around a mysterious new ‘Banksy’-like artist, whose work begins to rapidly increase in value as rumours of a curse begin to circulate. Rumours propelled by an art dealer who finds his life is increasingly on the line.

With the eyes of the media focused on the unusual case, Garrick and his team find themselves under the spotlight, and snarled in a web of intrigue and lies. The pieces are there for them all to see – but none of them seem to fit the picture the detectives have put together.

The case, combined with coming to terms with his recent betrayal, and deteriorating health, make Garrick suspect somebody is playing games in this new case - and his sister’s murder…
