Rhuyin by Mellanie Rourke is book 2 in the Sons of Hecate series. I knew it would be faster pace as it picked up after book 1. I did the first few chapters that showed Luke’s perspective on what happened previously but it wasn’t just rehashed details so many series do. It actually showed us relevant events from Luke’s pov.

I loved Rhuyin and wished we’d seen more of his background. It was so interesting and my heart broke for him as he assumed that he would never be someone’s first choice.

I wasn’t a big fan of so many different characters narrating chapters but I could see why it was happening. Once again the romance was secondary to the main plot and I wanted to see more.

I’m interested in Elix’s story. I assume he will be the main character in the next book. Things are heating up in Illyria and Alexandria.

There's good world building and the characters do feel fairly well fleshed out. But the writing lost some points for me with the numerous POV's and mixture between first- and third person narration. As well as some confusing time jumps.

I would've loved some more actual background to be shared about Rhuyin as well. Though I did love how the "rescued" interacted and learned from him. As well as Luke's immediate acceptance (and curiosity).

Overall, I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next in the series. Bre Wiggins16

The story continues!!! The plot and book itself is really good. The writing gets confusing because it switches from 1st and third person while reading the sentences.

I read until the end because I really wanted to know what happened next. The ending annoyed me a bit and I can’t explain why without spoiling.

I’d say it’s worth the read if you’re invested in the story and want to know what happens! I’m excited for the 3rd book to see how it all ends. Joscelyn Smith2,017 16

So freaking good

Hecate's sons are finally coming into their own. Their true powers are revealed as they fight to free their people. This is a fantastic addition to this highly enjoyable series. Some are lost, and some are found, and the fight is just getting started. Book three can't come soon enough. Chiah22 1 follower
