An enemies to lovers romance royal college romance. The king has succumb to scandal. Illegitimate heir(s). So what’s a princess to do? Run away with random hot guy while her life is being threatened.

Then book is now two in one. And the duet is nice together.

The authors writing style keeps me interested. The story itself, to me, feels unfinished. I would to have had more world building as this is supposed to be the princess of several countries. Yet we mainly hear of Greece and small bits of her homeland.

Marco was by far the most complex character in the book. We Marco. Leave him be.
The others seemed very surface level.

The big twist, was given away early on in book one of you pay attention to dialogue.

I the books, but it left me wanting more.

Spice is a 0.5

Angsty NA romance - all your modern princess faves rolled into one - Princess Diaries meets First Daughter meets Chasing Liberty meets A Walk To Remember meets Mamma Mia 2, no seriously.

This book contains the Rotten Royals duology of Guard Me and Save Me. Not long after 19yo Crown Princess Olivia decides to escape her family and go to an Ivy League university in the US, a scandal about her father’s extramarital affairs blows up in her face. Olivia chooses a hot cranky guy from her college campus - the least probable guy for help to run away with and gets in over her head. She’s always believed her fate is mapped out for her, and it turns that it was, but not quite how she thought.

I loved the first book (Guard Me), could not put it down! This homage to The Roman Holiday reminded me of Meg Cabot’s The Princess Diaries crossed with First Daughter and Chasing Liberty movies, but with mature, sinister undertones. I loved the rollercoaster ride of Livy falling for Marco and vice versa. Frank writes dramatic lovestories, see-saw emotions and insecurities bubbling to the surface in all ways we hate ourselves just beautifully and keeps you guessing from start to finish. But dang that cliffhanger ending!

Great that this set has book 2 (Save Me) that I could immediately delve into. I loved book 2 of the Rotten Royals duology as much as I did book 1 and read it in one go in a matter of hours. Unputdownable! Book 2 starts where book 1 cliffhanged and Frank doesn’t disappoint. Her usual angsty romance is spiced with conspiracy theory and multiple whodunnit elements as the identity of the rotten royals remains hidden until the very last pages. Edge of the seat, I’m telling ya. One particular scene in the book reminded me of the final of Mr and Mrs Smith. In fact, the whole feel of this book was more action-adventure although there were some aww as well as tear-jerker scenes. It’s got more Angel Has Fallen movie feels compared to Roman Holiday and Chasing Liberty/First Daughter feels in book #1. I’d class this as YA/NA as the FMC Olivia is 18 and Marco is a couple of years older.

Recommended for lovers of angsty YA/NA bodyguard enemies-to-lovers romance; action-adventure; college love stories and royal romances.clean-sweet-romance emotionaldamage indie-faves ...more Sentinelle231,085 25
