As expected, Trouble starts out in the thick of mayhem when he is assisting the FBI in a sting operation. But he's drawn away by the need to help his best friend while still recovering from earlier injuries.

The book shows us a bit of Trouble's past and how he met his best friend and ally as well as another side of him when we meet an old girlfriend of his, now his friend's wife

The action revolves around hunting down his friends kidnappers with the help of the wife, with each lead ending up being red herring after red herring. After some destruction and more pain and exhaustion, Trouble's instincts are dulled, and he is tricked by the kidnappers and captured along with his friends wife.

I won't go into much more detail, but I worried this was the end for Trouble. When the end did come, I was very surprised.

the previous books of Troubles exploits, it is a nail biter, but it shows sides of Trouble we don't see much of. It also reinforces the fact that as a resourceful and strong good guy, he's still as vulnerable as any of us.

Trouble learns that sometimes the past comes knocking, and it’s not for a pleasant cup of tea.
