A PROMISE IS A PROMISE

Each story in The Reluctant Wagon Train Bride series will have a young, marriageable age female forced to marry to be able to journey to Oregon. Un most of the stories, this is a very small wagon train, and not heading to Oregon. It involves three groups of men with multiple wagons per group and multiple locations. But, what happens along the trail may change the outcome. Each story will read as a stand-alone. Warning—this story stops with a cliffhanger that will continue with Christina’s story that releases April 16, 2024.

Patience and Christina Mallory need to leave Independence, Missouri, and make their way to Fort Bridger, Colorado, and see Uncle Norman, who is supposed to have the map of gold coins buried by their late father. She agrees to marry Royce Maxwell and has no real plans to stay married. What happens when she learns that Royce isn’t planning on going to Colorado?

I Royce and Patience both being Christians. Royce feels led by the Holy Spirit towards Patience and her being his wife and the mother to Eddie—someone he doesn’t tell her about until after they are married. Royce and Patience seem well suited, but they married in haste and never discussed plans of where they are heading. Patience takes to Eddie, and he to her, and she is one of the few people that calms him.

Also traveling on this wagon train will be Moody, cousin to Royce, along with their hired men and then Murphy Alexander and his hired men. Moody’s name fits him well, he grumbles about just about everything—including Christina’s cooking. Something that Royce tries to talk to him about.

Royce: Why can’t you be nice? You never used to be so abrupt with people.
Moody: Maybe I don’t have your fancy ways. Anyway, aren’t you at all upset, losing your baby minder and all?
Royce: A person doesn’t need to be ‘fancy’ as you call it to be decent. You’ll get more in life if you spare a moment to give people a kind word.
Moody” Could be that’s not the kind of life I want.

The story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. This story is full of secrets, mystery, suspense, and life-and-death danger. Sabotage and trouble come their way, and not everyone is trustworthy. Has the present situation required them to make adjustments on their travels? We won’t know it all until after reading A Journey for Christina. Has Moody’s attitude caused a shift in loyalties? Is the final words of a dying man a warning?

This is Book #14 in the Reluctant Wagon Trail Bride series and is a sweet and heartwarming story full of adventure and danger. This is Patience a vind Royce's story, and the character development is excellent. Patience needs to get to Colorado in order to attempt to find the map of where her father buried his gold, and she desperately needs the money. Royce is looking for a cook and a care taker for his baby and when he comes across Patience, he grabs her and convinces her to marry him. Oops there was a problem, he was headed to New Mexico via wagon train. As the couple interact on the day to day travel and hardships of the trail, will the couple discover a HEA. Another fun adventure written by this author. This this part of a series but you don’t have to read the others to understand what’s going on. Although you will either want to have on hand the sister Journey for Christiana on hand or read before as they go hand and hand. You get to know the characters so much you’ll WANT to read them both.

I enjoyed the book! Patience needed to join a wagon train to Colorado. While searching for a wagon that could use her help, she encountered Royce. Royce was looking for a woman to cook for him and to take care of his baby. Royce asked her to marry him and she agreed. Her sister became the cook for Royce’s cousin. Royce Eddie and Patience

This is a short tale of two cousins need a job on the wagon train. They each found a job, but Royce would take Patience if she wouldn’t marry him. He was afraid she would quit and leave when she found out he a a young son who was a real handful. They have adventures and excitement and find love along the way. Viola622 3
