This is book eight in the series, but it works fine as a standalone. All the essentials are explained straight away.

This is cozy witch mystery story. The story is well written and full of a wry sense of humor that really appeals to me. The characters are well developed and fun, with new quirky bits coming out in each story. I love the new and inventive troubles our heroine gets into in each book. Our poor heroine gets a little too much family time this go around, so perhaps having a murder to solve is a good thing. The plot is well paced and includes several twists and turns that kept things interesting and unpredictable. Overall, this was another highly enjoyable story and continue to look forward to reading more in the series.

Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters in a fun and entertaining storyline. Chelsea Sparks is a witch on a small magical island somewhere off the coast of the United States. Her family the Sparks family is a line of powerful witches. Her fiancé is a sheriff on the island. Her familiar is a cat that has been in her family for generations. Chelsea along with her cousin sometimes her aunts her mom her fiancé and others solve murders mysteries another crimes on the island. She is also the head which of her generation. Chelsea lives on a family island, where witches go back generations. Her aunt runs a zoo and there has been a murder just as it was opening up again. A pirate ship and its ghosts are next to interfere with her life. With help from family, her cat familiar Artemis, her friends and her fiance police detective Deacon, they just might be able to connect all the dots before things get worse. Loved the characters and all their quirks, backstories and banter. The storyline was entertaining and included all my favorite characters from past books in the series. Loved the ending and can not wait for the next one.

This is a great book! Mara Webb is one of my favorite authors, the story always just flows. Another adventure with Chelsea, her kooky friends and family, and of course Artemis. I don’t think any family reunion goes smoothly, and definitely not for the Sponks! This is a fun read, I really enjoyed this book! It has more going on than usual cozy books. An old pirate ship and the grimoire add an extra dose of mystery! This whole series is great! I’m looking forward to the next one.

I love the crazy Sponks witches! Chelsea gets involved solving a murder when a woman is found dead in the Aunt Tasha’s zoo. And she is tasked with helping solve the mystery of where pirate treasure pieces are hidden by the first Sponks witch. And the ending! This book is best enjoyed if other books in the series have been read.

Definitely one of Webb's better series, and a fun read on its own. Best read in series rather than standalone, so go back to book 1! Super quick books though so you can totally knock out the series in a couple days. Well worth the effort! A cast of characters that make this series stand out from other witchy cozy series. Can't wait for the next book!

Fantastic!

The clueless cops were just mind boggling. The responses from Chelsea and Lizzie to the officers extremely stupid pick up lines were priceless! I laughed so hard! I loved learning about the Sponks witchy heritage. Azalea was a cool ancestor! The pirates were a fun addition to learn about too. The ending was WOW! Willow Webster336 31

Continuing story
