There is more paranormal situations in Celeste's life than any witch should have to deal with. For those of us who have read the previous books in the series I think this book is great at moving the situations with the Sprites and Wraith forward. This book can be read as a standalone as well with the demise of a famous author and the twists and turns that kept me guessing about means and motive. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and more Fluke, the immortal beagle.

the invasion of sprites, allegedly friendly coinhabitants, is apparently a convoluted situation

challenges arise with security options and threats, as well as building related issues

meanwhile, a somewhat popular author brings chaos and a competitor to town

throw in a crazy coven, a bizarre whodunnit or two and a very chatty dog companion- lots of wild and wacky elements to this magical mystery read

This was the first one I read in this series and wished I had started from the beginning. This found family group seems really entertaining.
Being a people pleaser myself, I felt for the main lady. She just gets pushed and pulled into shenanigans left and right. Her relationship with the police chief is super cute.
I will be going back and starting from the beginning.

Although I have been enjoying Ms. Webb's work, if this had been the first book in this series, I absolutely would not have continued with the rest of the series. Sadly, I found it rather mundane and the characters (especially the side characters) to be tiresome, annoying and unlikable (and yes, that includes Fluke). Debbie Benson5,539 23
