This was a short one.

This time we meet very familiar monsters, at least if you’re interested in Monster-Lore. And although I enjoy the Monster of the Week aspect, I miss a little the greater whole. The story behind the story. As of now, it feels a little more reading a collection of Short-Stories. And don’t get me wrong I enjoy the stories, but I would love to get a little more foreshadowing and worldbuilding.

The last two books felt a little bit slow, compared to the start of the series, which was great. The character changes were in my opinion a little abrupt and also their interaction feels a little dull sometimes. The POV of the characters are sometimes mere perceptions, without emotions and feelings, it feels a narrator is telling the story. Give me some real emotions.

The story is nonetheless interesting, fast paced, the fighting scenes are good and I’m still excited to learn more about the world.3 s Angel (Bookn.All.Night)1,561 37

The fourth installment of The Hunter Novella Series continues the journey to Xanvur. Eric, Alice & Freya arrive at Ribe, a small coastal town. Thinking they will finally have some down town to rest and recouperate, they are confused when they ride into a ghost town...

The roads are empty. The houses are dark. The inn they step into...seemingly deserted.

The proprietor of the inn hustles into view shocked to see visitors. Eric expects an explanation for the desolate town and what follows is a tale of horrors.

Once they realize Ribe is in a constant state of unrest, Eric, Alice and Freya set out to see if they can bring balance back to the small town and peace to the residents.

This is quickly becoming a favorite way for me to read and I want to look into other series this. I really enjoy this author's style of writing, his characters, their evolvement and the flow of the story. It all comes together seamlessly.

This series is available on Amazon now and also through the Kindle Unlimited subscription. They are definitely worth the read for those who love fantasy and novellas, or those who simply want to go on an adventure.

I sincerely appreciate the publisher for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.2 s Kit426 17

Four books in and I still don’t know what to expect from every entry.

Each book before this one had it’s own unique (and amazing) plot, so there’s no real surprise that this one also takes readers to a new side of this story. This time, our main characters arrive in a small town only to find that sea wraiths are killing the townspeople.

One thing I really d about this plot was the creativity in the sea wraith monsters. I’ve never heard of a sea wraith before, but especially not any sort of monster who specifically targets its own living species. These former humans attacking living humans while former seals attack seals (and so on) was such an interesting detail I wouldn’t have thought of for a monster!

As always, I also love how the characters have grown so far. I’ve realized recently that I really love characters who are mature enough to explain their emotions to others and realize when they are wrong, so seeing one of our main characters learning from the past books and actively using that experience to fuel his interactions with others in this book was such an amazing part of this story!

And honestly? This book was kind of cute. After the horror elements of the other books, I wasn’t expecting to really care for the monsters in this book. But I ended this book thinking of how strangely wholesome the sea wraiths were and what a nice experience the townspeople of Ribe had with monsters who wanted to kill them.

I’m definitely excited to see more of this series and what these characters have waiting for them in the future! If you haven’t checked out these books yet, what are you waiting for? Mimi D11 3

The beginning of the fourth book in The Hunter Series promised that this novella was going to be the scariest one so far. It had an eerie and creepy atmosphere. I love when a book starts with darkness, shadows, mysteries... It grabbed my attention as soon as I started reading.

However, it soon became obvious that some of our characters have other battles to fight. For me, that was the most interesting part, because I'm sure it will lead to complicated relationships between the members of the trio. Also, the way Eric seems oblivious to things around him (or, does he?) makes the situation funnier. ??

I would really love to tell you who/what the creatures they have to face are, because I find them intriguing. Fortunately, I'm well aware of the fact that it can be a major spoiler. So, I'm just going to tell that this has been my favourite ending and resolution so far.
I'm looking forward to reading the fifth instalment soon.
