The first in a new series, this book is suspenseful, haunting and compelling. It makes for some very tense, edge of your seat reading and wondering could this really happen and what would I do in a situation this? It certainly left me feeling unsettled, but that is also the sign of a story well told. The author has given her readers fascinating characters and a compelling storyline that instantly grab your attention and hold it until you have consumed the whole book. The subject matter, abduction and human experimentation, is horrifying and teetering on unbelievable, because of course none of us wants to be believe it could happen. But the what ifs may well haunt after reading this book.
