4 stars, and I'm totally addicted to this series.
Rowe finds out she's a witch, the sheriff a shifter and Owen a werewolf.
Still crossing my fingers to Rowe and Haut.
He's very sweet and protective in a kinda alpha way.
And the two of them together, it's just amazing.
I'm always laughing, and I love laughing.
And him cooking in boxers and apron...
It's given me the heatings...
And the secrets keep coming...

Rowe is on the run with her wolfdog best friend and she heads to the only place she feels safe her grandmothers house. Things have changed since she last visited as a girl including the once the people. The more time she spends in the town the more she learns about her family. However, the town is full of secrets that will change her life forever.

I've read the first 5 installments in the Hartford Cover series and since they are short novels I feel one review will do for them all. I love Rowe she's a sweetheart who cares so much for her bestfriend Tris the wolfdog. I the guys she meets when she returns to Hartford. I can't wait to see where the series will go. This isn't my first series by L.L. Frost she's one of my favorites authors and her serial are full of steam, and comedy. I truly enjoyed everyone moment and have the whole collection on my kindle that I'm working on. amazon-ebooks ebooks favorite-authors ...more2 s Donna (BookDragonGirl)1,139 8

Rowe cracks me up!! But man, who was her grandmother really? And what is going on in this town? I’m looking forward to book 5, which is coming out in a week - thankfully!! I’m completely addicted to this series!!2 s Seraphia1,926 27

Magic in the Making is book four in L.L. Frost’s A Curse of Blood serial. Rowe’s story continues as she’s returned home to discover her grandmother has passed, she has a grave in the cemetery, and that there is so much about this town that she has yet to learn.
Secrets still abound as this story moves forward. There are a couple of revelations in this book, but not many. Rowe learns a disconcerting truth about something that she believes she had little to no reason to truly question. The growling back and forth between Haute and Owen continues without any real explanation why. Jealousy is obviously a factor when you get down to it, but what else? The author drops some hints in a later scene, but only fuels more questions.
My biggest issue with this installment? I hate to say it but – Rowe. The way Rowe acts I swear she’s actually 12 or 13 instead of 24 years old. She acts so immature!! Why?? I can’t stand the childishness and the mooch behavior. I mean, she won’t take Haute into consideration when ordering the pizza, despite asking him what he wanted, but then expects him to pay?? Girl! That’s beyond rude. I hate to say it but Rowe really comes off as a major twit in this book, and I don’t it. She honestly can’t be that clueless, but maybe she can be.
This installment ends with quite an interesting situation happening, so I’m curious as to how it all plays out in the next book. I’m hopeful that I’ll get some answers and that Rowe will get some maturity, because I don’t her childish attitude. I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. arc-shelf dark drama ...more1 Jennifer G2,548 48

Secrets are coming out. Every single character and even Hartford Cove itself is hiding something big. So many secrets! Poor Rowe. All this time believing she's crazy when she was seeing clearly all along. It's time for a serious talk. Haut and Owen need to open up...over more pie. Rowe's going to need lots of pie for what's coming. I am seriously entertained with this series and it's all because of Rowe. I the mystery and what I believe is going on but I love Rowe. She's so unpredictable. Never knowing the next words out of her mouth and being unable to guess her next move keeps me so amused. 1 Liz423 20

Ahhh...why did I wait so long to start this series!

I should really know better. The (un)Lucky Succubus series is one of my all time favorite series. I know how great LL Frost is at creating characters you connect with and plots that keep you turning the page. I'm kicking myself for taking so long to start this series...but at least there are several books out now. Silver lining is that I can head right on in to the next chapter.
